Welcome Aboard! Ten years is a long time. Have fun make new friends all at the touch of a key-board. There's lots of good advice, also.

Ditto on the search features. Welcome to the forum!

Big Arm,

Welcome to the forum. Let me warn you about a few things.

1.) If you own a Cuetec cue, don't mention it on this forum.
2.) If you wear a glove to shoot pool, don't mention it on this forum.
3.) If you shoot with a production cue, don't mention it on this forum.
4.) dont run your sentences together without capital letters and other punctuation if you play your dad in pool and beat him eight games to none dont mention it on this forum dont forget to give kudos to allison fisher thanks
5.) Be sure to "name-drop" if you know any pool celebrities.
6.) If a professional poolplayer posts on here, be sure to "suck-up" to him/her by replying to their post with positive comments even if they don't mean a hill-of-beans to you.
7.) You either LOVE or HATE Earl Strickland and must post your opinion of him.
8.) If you post enough times here on this forum, you will eventually pi$$ somebody off, whether you mean to or not.
9.) If you are saying something in jest, I recommend using a smiley face.
10.) Always re-read and think about your wording BEFORE hitting the SUBIT REPLY button.
:grin::grin-square::grin::grin-square::grin::grin-square::grin::grin-square:
Sounds like a David Letterman top ten list, eh???

Thanks for the laugh Maniac! I was doing this in my head when I came to your post and cracked up.

Welcome to the forum, Big Arm! Maniac's caveats notwithstanding, this is a great place to talk about the game.

We're not in Kansas anymore...

Welcome to AZ!

mdavis228:

Are you from "Baston", and welcoming Big Arm to "AZ"? I don't think his real name is Dorothy, I'm not sure he has a little dog name Toto, and his profile says he's from MT, not KS...

J/K! Couldn't resist... :D

As to Big Arm -- welcome to the AZBilliards Forums! Lots of knowledge, entertainment, and GREAT FOLKS here. And although few in numbers compared to the rest of these great folks, there are also unfortunately some very opinionated keyboard jockeys here (whose pool skills may be in question), that take every opportunity to try to impress the populace with what they know at the expense of others. So remember to bring your duck's back as a shield to let things roll off of. If you lurk a while, you'll see this soon enough.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the welcomes and Maniac, thanks for the hints! But I do have to play with a production cue because I am a poor special ed teacher. The wife and I just play 8 ball for fun most of the time. We have a fairly big shop (30' x 40') that we are finishing the inside with blue stained pine and will put a pool table in there.

For all Newbies

All newbies are required to post pictures of work in progress on any personal pool room that they are constructing. Blue Pine? I gotta see this. They must also submit to major questioning about what table they are choosing to place inside of their private room. (pictures of table must be included as well)

The above requirements may be waived if you post pics of your wife!

If you play with a production cue thats just fine. But if it was made in China please don't say a word. It's a big no no with the forum gods and bullies.
