Alright - let's hear it....on the TAR table, playing 10 Ball, how many racks would you win against Shane in a race to 100? This is assuming Shane would be interested the entire match.

I'm wondering if I could get to 30? Probably wouldn't bet on it. That's a pretty humbling thought.

***Update Alert***

I'm adding the list. If you don't want your name on here just let me know and I'll remove it.

Cleary didn't make the list because everybody already knows he's the favorite to get to 100.

I played approximately 20 racks with him and won 2. Extrapolating puts me in the 7-10 range. :(

No to put down your 2 racks against him, winning 1 against him is something you should be proud of, but the 20 racks you plaed with him, was this in a competitive sense or was he just screwing around with some shots?

Seriously, now that I think about it. I think 15 might be a bit high, I think 10 would be more realistic if I am playing Shane and he is playing as serious as he plays in competition.

I would bet on myself to get 30.

I think in 3 days a could get 15 racks against him (at least 7 of them should be combinations on 10 ball) :)

I was thinking I would have to win 3 out of 10 racks consistently. Could I keep a 3-7 pace throughout that many racks? I don't know. I doubt there are many on here who could though.

After seeing how hard it is for top pros to actually string together racks of ten ball, I realized I would have to win them one at time. That would be tough. Especially after sitting there watching him runout 3 or 4 racks in a row.

It would be a fun undercard (or mildly amusing) for a Thursday night TAR matchup. SVB vs. banger AZB guy. Race to 15. Bet on how far the banger will get.

Sounds like JB is up first.

***JB - by "banger" I didn't really mean it in the negative sense. Just more the way we throw the word around here. :) ***

That's a bold statement. I have never seen you play seriously but playing like that is basically consistently getting 3 racks on Shane in a race to 10.

For me, I don't like that one bit.

I'd beat Shane in a race to 100 playing anything he wants to play, for any amount of $$$$ too....OH WAIT, this is just "fantasy pool" right?:rotflmao1::rotflmao1:

It's sort of required that you read the thread before you post. Well, I guess it's not required, it's just necessary if you care to look like you are paying attention.

Nobody's talking about playing SVB even for the cash.

I was just thinking it would interesting to know (or even guess) how many games you could get off of him in a race to 100. Is this just "fantasy pool"? I suppose, but this is a pool forum right? Seems like an interesting thing to think about to me at least.

So how many games could you get off of SVB? You could even play on a PERFECTLY SETUP TABLE if you want?

In the first place, you'd have to bet some $$$$ to make it worth while for his time to play you.

Second place, you'd win a lot more games than you think you would, because Shane would not play you like someone who could really beat him, so he'd be playing to make it fun for you, so you got your moneys worth and feel like it was great to play him.

Third place, I wouldn't doubt it a bit if Shane let you hang with him by playing off the wall shots until you got up to about 80 games, then leave you sitting there holding your cue while he finished you off.

I mean really, how much could you push Shane to play at his best...if he knows you don't have a chance in hell of beating him:D

You'll NEVER get your best from someone like Shane...unless you can force him to play to win....think about it, or IS this just "FANTASY POOL" you are talking about here:thumbup:;)

Okay....I guess it's just "FANTASY POOL".

How many fantasy racks of fantasy pool do you think you could win against Shane playing his best in Fantasyville?

Just curious?

I don't know, 50, 60, 70 games, but could I actually beat Shane....no, so how many I could win would depend a lot on how many games I actually won vs how many games Shane let me win:grin: and yes, I do know Shane personally, and when he's in Sioux Falls, he plays on a Diamond 9ft I set up and re-calibrated the rails on:grin:

I don't know but I would love to find out. If I ever got the chance to shoot against him I hope he wouldn't take it easy on me.

I would bet on myself to get 30.

You sir would have a bet if you were serious.

If he played serious and we were gambling I think I would get 5-8. At eight I don't think I would bet on myself. I've played lesser players getting 7 on the wire going to 9.

It is unreal how little games on the wire mean when you never get to look at a ball. I've played where if I drove a ball to the rail legally I won the game. When the guy always wins, breaks, and controls the table it is tough to win.

Now we are getting somewhere. I'll put you down for 60 games.

One.

He'd scratch on the break, leave the 10-ball hanging in a corner pocket and the one-ball about 10 inches away.

I am dead serious. I would bet $1000 on myself. If I can't get 30 games before Shane gets 100 I should quit pool.

Would you take a 7 game spot racing to 10 against Shane?

I would have to take that spot all day every day. And if I didn't win I would have to stay broke taking it until I did or simply put the cue away.

Well then...since we're never actually going to play each other, put me down for beating Shane in a race to 100:thumbup:;)

Too late! I already have you down for 60. I would have to charge you a nominal fee to have that number reevaluated by a select commitee at this point. It's quite expensive and it has only been done a few times.

It normally runs right around the cost of a complete table rebuild.
