NEW ON DEMAND RELEASE: TAR #1 Deuel vs Van Boening

Quick thread derail: I believe the final score was Shane 100 to Donny 83 or so correct? Does anyone know how many games Donny won that Shane broke? Its not possible that Donny only won on his break so I'm curious as to how many of the games that he made a ball on the break did he actually lose? Just curious. Thanks.

Honestly, I forget the if Donny had 82, 83 or 84 at the end. I know it was somewhere in that vicinity. Also, due to CRS, which I got in the war of 1812, I might be off a lil on Donny's break totals, but one thing is sure; Donny missed *one* wing ball out of all his breaks. Damndest thing I ever saw.

The hard break worked out for shane, but I think I remember donny also saying he can get played again if he
wants to smash 'em like that every break. I know he had to change something, but I don't think it's the correct way
to break 9 ball. Soft breaking should always be the first choice if you got a table/rack that's cooperating.

If your hard break is sinking like the same 3 balls every time and you're playing 6-ball after the breaks,
I can see the case for hard break. But if you're just making the wing ball, better to soft break
and guarantee a nice look at the 1.

Donny, would you still do this match today? With or without shane hard breaking?

I recall Shane saying, or maybe JCIN reporting, after the match that Shane would never play that game again with Donny.

I don't know where Shane stands today. It's went back and forth so many times I lost track. I know there was talk of another match for big money but it didn't happen. Donny will know the details of that.

You are probably thinking of something I have said several times that is just my opinion and that is that someone would have to be nuts to go try and beat that game. Shane outran the nuts IMO.

I think Corey and Donny are buddies, and possibly Donny learned some of his soft break from him?
They were both in Florida so it wouldn't surprise me if they maybe worked on it together.
Shane got Corey in 10b, all those years ago, but I wonder how he'd like playing Corey the same way
he played Donny Mills. I think Corey might shoot a little straighter.

Can Justin, or anyone else for that matter post the link for the history of TAR thread please. I thought that was a really good post, and shows how far TAR has come.

Disc 6, between min 6 and min 11 Grady and his co-commentator at the time has some gems of commentary:) lol.

Talking about lack of gamble of Philippine and NYC players. Had me cracking up. Good stuff:)
