New owner of GC1

Put a straight edge on the frame from side to side, you need to know if the outside edge of the frame is high, low, or flat. Makes a huge difference when it comes to mounting the slates.

Thanks for the tip. Haven't gotten that far. I have the frame level (40" precision straight edge with 0.0002"/ft level). I'll check the rest this week and hopefully set slates this weekend.

Thanks for that, I'll look at it when I'm too tired to work on the room and table tonight.

I misspoke in the first post, I haven't touched the skirts, have the aprons nearly ready for paint.

Your rail laminates look like they are in a bit better shape than mine. I'm considering options for mine.

I didn't get quite as good a deal as you, I paid 550, then gave the guy a decent tip for helping move the slates out of the basement.
I just got a GC1 with extended rail beds for 4 1/8" corners for $500 with a light, two sets of super aramith pros, 3 sneaky pete's and 2 house cues, a short cue, a bridge. I already have a GCIII in my living room, but you can't pass up a deal like that...

Congrats, man! Looks great!

How's it play?

Thank-you!

Better than I do right now. Cushions might be a little less than ideal, but I can get over four table lengths with a decent hit. Cue ball doesn't hop off the rail.

I'm having fun with it.
