New Poll- Best One Pocket Player in Your State

Keith was speaking to Ricky B the other day on the cell phone, and I heard him say to Ricky, "I think I can get a little bit easier action than Carrot Top, Ricky," and then he laughed. :p

Who's Carrot Top?

JAM
He may be referring to Jamie "The Red Rifle" Farrell, who has bright red hair. Jamie is probably the best one-pocket player in Louisiana. He needs weight from the triple A guys, but no one is going to fight to get at him. He can bank a little too...

For other state's top players, in Mississippi I'd have to say Biloxi Mike Surber, although his job prevents him from being in stroke these days. He only gets to play occasionally. Same thing with Lil John.

Tennessee
would be Daulton or Nick Vita.

Alabama
: Justin Cone

Ricky B. ? (Byrd) owner of Breaker's in Mobile or Ricky P. (New Orleans poolplayer) ?
I think Carrot Top is referring to Jamie Farrell of Corner Pocket Billiards. Also known as Red Rifle as B.B. pointed out.

Doug
(btw, in another post you referred to JoeyA. as "Gingerbread Man" and that is Jay Helfert's nickname)

Glad to see you're paying attention! :D

I thought JoeyA was Gingerbread Man and Jay Helfert was Joy Boy. :embarrassed2:

I'm pretty sure that Keith was talking to Ricky B because of the way the conversation went! ;)

I have always had a fondness for red hair. I hope I get to meet The Red Rifle someday. I'd like to see him in action.

That's because you're reading and posting on AZB while you are working.

Doug

Shannon lives in Greenville SC now although he would swim a river of sh*t to play Nick even 1P. Talk about tough, G-ville SC area has Larry, Shannon and Gabe when he is there plus Brian White and Scott Rabon.

As far as TN goes it would probably be Nick. Henn and L'il Robbie play it pretty good too.

Utah is no contest - Mark Tadd, although I haven't seen Mark around for a long time. I wonder if he is playing at all.

Jay - do you know?

Oregon - Mike Zimmerman
Best female 1P player - me, lol

WA - Todd Marsh, JD, Dan Louie, Tim Tweedell, and Glenn Atwell
2nd tier - Harry Platis, Eddie Mataya, Joe Chun, Nardo, possibly Vince Frayne

Ok, Nardo is now mayor in the Philipines, but he used to play a lot of 1-pocket. We matched up in a 1P tournament and we both were giggling like little girls at some of our shots.

wow

I think the post was [in your state] werll i dont know for GA, but i belive that RAYES could but most that has been named in a state of SHOCK!!!:grin-square: :grin-square:

Maybe so. But Cliff Joyner and Shawn Putnam couldn't get there against Nick Vita. Shannon would be the big favorite in banks or 9-ball, but he doesn't have to win playing Nick in one-hole.

California rules......

I say Billy Palmer in CA since he defeated Efren one year in a one pocket match at DCC...

Billy or Mark the Snake from Oakland.

Anyone that beat Efren has to be counted. Mark plays great too.

South Carolina must be the one-pocket capitol of the South. There is also some dude down in Columbia they call Grady and let's not forget Ray Benish also in Greenville area. :)

Jmo

Missouri - Danny Harriman
Kansas - Dave Matlock
Ok. - James Waldon , assuming gabe dosent live there anymore
Ill - Buddy Hall
Tn - Hennesy
Oh - Shaun Putnam
Tx - Double J or Rodney Morris

Maryland: White Max, Bus Driver Ronnie.

D.C.: Strawberry Brooks will always be one of D.C.'s finest, and definitely was a one-pocket phenom. May he rest in peace. I don't think there are many who can fill his shoes in D.C. today.

Gambing Even???

I have seen Nick play 1P and 9 ball and he is a very good player. He is definitely one of the better onehole players around but I don't think he can fade playing Shannon or Cliff even.

If he is playing at that level now then I will stand corrected.

Down here in Texas I think it is Jeremy Jones hands down and then probably Sylver Ochoa. Joey Barnes has been playing real well lately and then there is Bill Incordona who could care less about pecking orders and after that maybe David Henson of Austin. These though are quite a distance from the rest.
