New Predator 'Arc' table.....................

I suppose if it's to be properly done - slate radiusing and all. They could special order only those. Me, I'd only only care about the cut of the rubber.
They're not gonna offer all these options. too much of a hassle for very few #'s of units sold. Diamond offers three and that's plenty. With these being made in China they won't offer a bunch of custom stuff. Maybe two like on the GC's.

They like 'em super tight though.

But its not just the rubber, its also the cut of the rail, to make pockets tighter the rail must be longer than a rail on a bigger pocket otherwise tables with different sized pockets would need different thickness facings. That's kind of hack.

Exactly and that's why offering different sizes is a pita for a table builder. i'm guessing 80%ish of Diamond's use the 4.5"ProCut which is a great all-around size.

huh? who are you referring to as 'they'? last thing pool needs is more 'super tight' tables. might be ok in your own home but they are worthless in a commercial place.
The Chinese like 'em tight.

Yes I know this.

People already complain about wait times for tables, how much does wait time increase if any size pocket was offered instead of 1 or 2 options??

You have a valid concern but with NC tooling slate, cloth, and pockets can all be cut to any pattern. A few minutes one time by a draftsman could give pockets in as many choices as people wanted.

What I want is leather pockets though. Heavy saddle leather preferred. There is just something about the sound of the slap of balls into heavy leather.

I dunno, just my thoughts.

Flakeandrun mentioned a new room with all 4" pockets. Just extrapolating .
They either have: A. A lot of really good players or B. They like to brag about how tough their tables are. I'm leaning more towards 'B'. I just don't see a commercial room having a room full of crazy tight tables. A couple sure but not all of them. 700+FR pros will struggle on 4" wickets, joe public will not make a ball on one. China either has a bunch of monster players or they just like torturing themselves and bragging about their tough tables.

I played on 20-30 year old SAM tables in a room in Atlanta about 6 months ago. I thought they played jam up, even though they were old as dirt.

I like the white one. The other colors look super tacky to me. But, different stroke/folks/etc.

Predator got back to me on this and they said Yalin is making the Arc table. That explains the Yalin banners on some of the Predator event streams. They make good tables, have been making Brunswick tables for some time now.
Good info, thanks.

Honestly I have 4.25 pockets on my diamond but the bar that I play out of has 4.5 and I think that’s right for public play. It’s tight enough for good players to be interested but not to tight that the lower players or just your average bar patron won’t take an hour to play a game lol

You guys are all nuts. Probably run a rack once per week, and want 4" pockets.

4.5" Pro-Cut on a 9' Diamond are hard as hell, especially when the cloth is 6 months old. Nothing should be tighter than that. They are harder than triple shimmed GC's were (due to the shelf).

Rooms should be all 5" pockets, IMO. One or 2 tables in the front for the one-hole and the room's top 9 ball players could be a Pro-Cut Diamond, or equivalent.
