Really worth the wait! The pictures cannot convey the meticulous work in this cue. Sleeved Ivory joint, ivory and silver ringwork, kangaroo wrap (best wrap I have ever felt), ivory ferrules, Kamui Black tips.

I have not seen a Howard with that ringwork--- I have not had one this fancy----- It looks like a monster player---

Thanks Peter, the work is really well done. I have another in the works that is similar, but that cue will take a while.

Thanks for the advice on the break-in, that will be valuable to me.

That is Ricks top of the line ringwork. He seldom uses it as it is ivory pieces, not a ring, and he generally only puts it on the top end cues.

Nice cue BTW.

His ringwork is just the nuts. I had a plain (no ivory) ebony cue with SW style stitchwork and it was THE NICEST ringwork I have ever seen on a cue.

I say that Rick is under-rated is an understatement of epic proportion.

I like that cue more and more each time I look at it!
 
I sold a 6 pt Ebony/Ebony Howard a while back w/ that ringwork @ the joint. The ivory/silver just springs out of the cue at you, gorgeous. Howards are awesome & so is this one. I'm just not a big pin fan, so I let mine go instead of it drawing dust.

I ordered this cue based on testimonials from other players as to how well they hit.

Believe it or not, I still have not hit with this cue!!

Tomorrow night for sure.
 
my thoughts

I looked at the cue and scrolled down to read the replies. Then I went up again and looked at the cue again. And again. And I must confess this forearm is probably the nicest of them all I have seen here on AZ although there have been dozens of super nice works.

When looking at the close-up pictures of the rings I thought that they are taller and for that I did not like them so much. Then looked at the forearm shot again and saw how low and subtle they were and it looks ice cold elegant next to the burning forearm.

Could you post a picture of the whole cue and perhaps the shafts next to it - the setup doesn't matter but an view on the entire cue would be great!

One last question: how does Rick do his signature? Is it written on on scrimmed into the butt cap? I really like it, it is one of the nicest looking signatures you may find on cues.
 
Rings

Hey, David-

The rings are much more subtle in person and really set the cue off nicely. I will try to get a full cue picture, as the last pic is as close as I got to showing the full cue.

The signature is really done well. When I first looked at it, I thought it was printing of some sort. Upon close examination I could see that it is actually cut (engraved?) into the butt cap, the script of the letters goes well below the surface, it is totally 3-dimensional. You can feel it with your fingers. I have to agree, this is the coolest signature I have seen on a cue. Not sure how he does it, but it looks great.
