New SEARING Cue, New Pics....

Mark,

Now you've found the Holy Grail, pal! It just doesn't get any better than that. Your style with the "plain" BEM and the ringwork is awesome. While I liked your BB's, this one just screams class without a lot of embellishment. Time to talk to Marc Turcasso for an envelope case for that rascal! Take care, my friend, you got a live wire this time!

Best always,

Steve
How ya doin', sir??!! Hope all is well in sunny AZ!!

I thank you much for the nice comments...and since you and I have a LOOOONNNNNGGGGG history of liking the same cues, I can tell ya that this one would make you moisten yourself!! (gross...but true).

I've logged about 8 hours of table time with it so far, and it just keeps getting better and better, Steve. Spins the ever-lovin' hell out of the CB, and feels incredible when you hit it "just right." It's really a phenomenal cue...you would be a BIG fan of it. I know I am!!!

Who is this gentleman you speak of about a case? I'm intrigued....

Incredible cue, Mark! Lifelong enjoyment! I've never hit a Searing, but hope to one day before I die. That birdseye is gorgeous and the rings say nothing but class. This one's a keeper!
:p

Amen to that, sir. I spent another 3 hours with it tonight...and the severely inappropriate feelings about this cue have set in. My wife has suggested that I sleep with it downstairs, under my table. If I had an extra pillow for me, I would consider it!!!

If you ever get the chance to hit with one, I cannot possibly urge you enough to do so. It's a real treat!!

Hope you and yours are doing well, sir. Give 'em my regards.

Take care, and it's good to hear from you.

Just got back from my hols and I find this!!

That is a naughty cue....very, very naughty. Its an English expression, it means I like it!

Si
Heya Si,

I know you already know what kind of work Dennis puts out...and this cue has every ounce of execution, balance, and playability. Wish my skills deserved such phenomenal gear!!!

All the more reason to practice, I suppose!!! :) ;)

Kind regards,

Mark

That is one of the HOTTEST cues I have seen in a LONG time. Bill Stroud was wrong - there is such a thing as a perfect cue.

Yes, sir...there IS such a thing as a PERFECT cue. I own it!

Thank you much for the kind words.

Mark <----thinks a JB case would look good with it

How's it hit 'em???

One word.......

WOW!!!!!!
Yes. Dennis' SS 1/2 joint is built for a special feel and action. And you can really tell a difference. It's not just a "look".

Congratulations, Mark. She sure is a beauty.

Thank you much, sir. This is the first 1/2 joint I've tried...to the best of my memory, anyway.

The "feel" is something completely particular...and super, super sweet.

All the "hype" exists for a reason...that's for damned sure!!

Be well, my friend. I'll look you up when I get home (only a few more days left... :( ).

If you happend to talk to Ross, tell him I said 'hi.' Haven't seen him around lately...and I miss the wise-a$$ed S.O.B. !!! :)

> I have 2 questions.

1) Have any of you been in Dennis' shop? I am curious to find out exactly what he's using as an inlay machine, because unless I'm BADLY mistaken, those inlays weren't done on a manual pantograph, they're just too CLEAN. I suspect some kind of self-built CNC,and that is fine with me. I'm about to graduate machine shop school,so I've done a little CNC work, mostly engraving, and know how critical things like tool offsets are for getting tight fits and clean pockets. His machine must be THE NUTS.

2) For the OP,how long from start of order to delivery?

Kickass cue for sure,Tommy D.

I wired the shop for Dennis and yes it's the nuts.He built the current cnc machine himself from design concept to finished product. He built all of the lathe stands, tables, cabinets, wood racks, etc. If he needs a jig for something, he machines it himself. He designed and manufactured a system for dyeing his own veneers and several other things that I won't discuss but I'm sure if you were to visit his shop, he would be more than happy to show you. His cues are so good all you have to do is mail the entry fee for a tournament along with the cue and they will send the cue back with the first place prize money.:D :D

Mark great cue.

My mom told me one day when I eat all my spinach and get big and strong, one day I to will own a Searing...

The veneers are black, blue, gold and white in case he forgot... lol

Spinach does a body good, JV......be a good boy and eat up!!

Thanks much for the compliments, sir. It's a BEAST of a cue, no doubt about it.

One would think that I've come to love it, wouldn't one?? :) :)

Take care, and hope that veneer combo gets done for ya!!

What a great cue

Mark, I was at Searings shop the day he finished putting the tips on your shafts, and sealing them. Did you know that he went through three new boxes of triangle tips (that 150 of them) in order to pick out your 2 tips(ask him its true). I know that sounds hard to believe, but his attention to detail goes to that extreme. I saw your finished product as he was getting ready to ship it out and its crazy nice.
God I bet it hits lights out.
Enjoy It...

Dan,

I believe it....without a doubt. I know that Mr. Searing is known to be just a wee bit selective when it comes to the details....so picking out 2 tips from a bundle of 150 wouldn't shock me....much! :)

And you're right...it does hit absolutely lights out. I'm having a REAL good time with it.

Thanks much,

Mark

stunning cue. the only thing i would change is to have the ring work at the joint be the same width as the rings at the wrap and buttcap, if i could ever get my hands on a searing. mucho luck with it!

It's all about balance....and rings of the same size as the wrap at the joint sections would just be too squished together to make much sense.

If you're talking about the height of the black phenolic...that's done with a purpose as well. With the half joint construction, the cue looks perfect with the phenolic collars at the size they are now.

Dennis went to great lengths to ensure that the cue was in perfect harmony, sizing and all.

Thanks much for your inputs.

Mark

Beautiful Searing

That cue will be your friend for a very long time Mark. It's perfect. Congratulations and enjoy it!
