New Shaft Question about length

Howdy;
I am going to buy a new shaft for my Lucasi L-E75.
There is no place out here to test different shafts, no trade shows.
OK so I am ready to plunk down my money on a OB-1 shaft until I saw that they come in two lenghts 29" and 30".
I think that hey an extra inch of reach when I need it sounds great, but I am wondering if there is more to consider will this. Will it mess up the balance that I am use to or what. Maybe this is no big deal, but I would rather know before I buy.
If you guys have experience with situation let me know how it worked out.
Thanks

I don't think the balance will be a big deal but you will notice the extra length. I played with a 30 in. shaft briefly and had to readjust by bridge and grip hand positions a bit. It's not something you can't adjust to but you will notice the difference.

I haven't played with a 30" OB-1 shaft, but I have a 30" Z2 shaft that I play with. I prefer the slightly extra reach it gives, and haven't noticed any negatives.

I've tried a 30" OB-1 on my Frey sneaky. I noticed a big difference and couldn't get over it. Everyone else who tried my cue loved it.

Simple solution... buy both... don't chalk either... test hit both... keep the one that you like the best... send back the other.

i have used everything from a 29 to a 31 inch shaft. I thought id settled on 29........but the other night i screwed on the one 31" shaft i have on my schon, and i have to say im rethinking it all. Before i plopped down the money for the ob1 in a size you aint sure about....i think id watch for a noname shaft on ebay in 30 or 31 and see if you coudl pick it up cheap, try it then make your order

Sell you Lucasi L-E75 and everything that goes with it! Get your local cue maker to make you a cue just for you for around $400.00 the length that you want. Let your local cue maker know the type of action you like to put on the CB, let him see your stroke, how you bridge, how you get down on your shots...etc. I say local because if it is not to your liking he can make adjustments to it, something that a cue maker who is not local could not do. Trust me you will be a lot happier when your game comes up from using a cue that is tailored to you. Remember you cannot turn a car into a truck!

But what if he doesn't know what he wants? Clearly he doesn't.

I play with a 30 inch shaft and balance is an issue if you just swap shafts out. You can feel the slightest weight change in shots especially off the rail. But this can be overcome very easily by changing the weight bolt or adjusting the position of it.

think of this

If you're a tall dude with long arms, a longer shaft might feel better. You're going to get a lot of whip on it though the longer it gets and the thinner the diameter.

I used both... 30" and 29" ... I didn't really like the 30" somehow it make me confuse while stroking. about extra to reach is good.. but for me I just felt that its confusing.. so I stick to the default which is 29" and is good for me forever.

If you havn't tried the OB 1 maybe you should find a way to try before chalking one. I did NOT like the soft hit. I changed tips and it did not help. I had the diameter cut down, still didn't like it. I had the ferrule changed and still don't like it. I'm out several $$$$ and should have tried it first.
