Just make sure it's the "LD" shaft, which plays similar to the 314-2.
There's a lot of confusion because they didn't give up the 'Ultra X" name. They still make the higher squirt version for players who prefer a laminated conventional shaft.
The Ultra LD is very well finished, plays pretty solid, weighs about the same as a Predator (3.5 - 3.7 ounces) and had similar dimensions. They are not hollow.
I prefer the Pro X because I've migrated to the small tip, but I used to play with a 314 and I think the LD is pretty close to the same but a better wood and overall quality in my opinion - plus it feels like a solid shaft.
In general Tiger cues play fine - I like them. If you get the right tip you'll like it. Corey will give you a good deal.
