Hello all.

Like the title says, I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself :)

My name is Anthony and I live in Memphis, TN (btw if there are any players from here on the forums lemme know :D ).

I started playing billiards with my father back when I was a youngin', but later my school/career/relationship took over the time I used to spend at the table... but now I have found myself with some free time again and am looking to pick back up the game I used to enjoy so much.

So after the intro I'd just like to say I'm looking forward to conversing with you fine fellows in the future.

May you always sink the 9 on the break...

Welcome aboard! You'll find this is a great place to be, with a great crowd of helpful & nutty folks! Have fun!

You let learnin'/job/a woman interfere with playing pool?

WHERE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES, YOUNG MAN?

I think with some time and some dedication on your part, we can change that.

Just kidding. LOL

Welcome to the forum,

Stones

Thanks for the welcome, and I just recently moved from outside Fort Worth... I didn't get to stay but a few months so I never really got into the scene around there (and being 45 minutes away outside Lakeland didn't help...), but Texas is better than people give it credit for. Almost :P

Welcome

as they say, 'Pool is not a matter of life and death - it's more important than that!!!' .... LOL

You're in a good location to go catch the Derby City Classic in January.

That would be in Louisville, correct? Man, I'd love to watch two pros at the height of their game go at it...

BTW... nice dog ^^

Hey, Yokel,,,I'm a few hours south of you in Mississippi. the only 'big tourney that I frequent is the New Years Day tourney at Grenada, MS. almost always a full slate at that place, plus they have smaller tourneys every Tuesday nite.................... j :)

Thank you everyone :)

I'm heading back to work from my lunch break, but after that it's off to my new nightly 2 hour billiard session :p

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend, and thanks again for the warm welcome ^^

What up?! (And welcome.)

Where do you play in M-town? I call Bob Prater's Highpockets "home" but I've been playing at Sharpshooters in Bartlett (purely out of convenience). Samples on Lamar is a great room with great tables...despite being "on Lamar". ;) And Don is really cool. Plus, Samples has a 3c table, with new cloth. (I'm not going to point fingers as to why it needed it, but it was NOT me! I haven't ripped cloth since...um...Tuesday.) ;)

Anyway, welcome to the board, maybe I'll see you around, if I haven't met you already.

Was Samples formerly known as The Rack (of which I used to frequent and also knew the owner and his son Patrick)?

I currently play at RP Billiards. $3 Blue Moon and new tables. They also only have 3 tables so most people don't play there and it is usually pretty quiet and roomy. Great bar, great hall, and great people. Nathan has long hair, and Scotty always wears a weird-yet-cool top hat. Tell them Anthony told you about the place and they will treat you like family :)

I've been frequenting the place for about a month now, and it's one of my favorite spots in Memphis. I also shoot at Players once in a while off of Old Austin Peay. Yet another very good pool hall that also offers VERY nice tables, and even 3 tables covered with beige Simonis 860 for I think 2 bucks extra an hour.

I already explained to another user in PM's that if you remember someone getting into an "arguement" with the old lady at High Pockets one night last month because I asked if they had Blue Moon and she told me "Go look for yourself if you want to know...", that was me :D

Give me a time and place after 7:30 pm and we can meet up and play a few friendly games... just don't expect too much out of me the first game or two :)

Hello Yoke, and welcome aboard!!!!!!! Yoke, this is truly a great forum Buddy, and I have not found more willing helpful people on any other.

Do not be afraid to join into to discussions because you are new, like many others seem to do. The truth is everyone has something to add, and know ones opinion is not valuable is way!!!!!!!!!;)

Have a good Night Buddy!!!!!!!! and again welcome aboard!!!!!!

Welcome, AZforum will always provide you with quality and helpful information, I have learned this from experience. You might get a few dirty avatars once in a while, but hey, nothings perfect.

RP Billiards is actually in the same building that Highland Cue used to be in. I think one of the reasons they haven't expanded their tables yet is that they can't shake the reputation of Highland Cue =/

Such a nice location too... it's sad that no one visits because of what it used to be.

And thank you 8-ball, jimmy, and welcome general :)

Where do you play at rib? The fellow that runs Players looks like your avatar and last Sunday I even asked if it was him, lol.
