How's everyone doing? Hope all is doing well and had a great holiday season. My name is Rafael, but all of my friends call me Chino, whichever one you prefer.
I'm from Kansas City, MO. I started shooting 8-ball when I was around 10 or so, my dad use to play snooker quite a bit and taught me how to shoot. I never took it serious when I was younger. A few months back, I was in the process of finding a new hobby and I remembered my good experience with shooting pool, so I found a local pool hall and started shooting. Though I shot horribly, but I instantly fell in love with it.
I'm a beginner and certainly don't know anything. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning from you all. Please don't hesitate to correct me and don't let my ignorance fly. If you remain silent and don't correct me, I will always be ignorant, and I am here to learn.
My parents purchased a cue for me for Christmas, I don't know how good of a cue it is, but I like it a lot so far, it is a GW collection cue, model GW1. Nothing very fancy, but I think it is definately good enough for a beginner like myself.
My dad owns a one-piece Joe-Davis 17.5oz cue and a 2 piece custom 59inch 17.5oz cue made by Schon. I have no idea what either one of those cues are, but he takes a lot of pride in them for some reason.
Anyhow, I've talked quit enough. As I have said I above, I look forward in getting to know everyone, and learning from you all. Thanks for having me.
