Here is one of my favorite older cues. This cue was made in the Adam Factory in Japan about 6 years ago. It was a prototype for the BU-1 in the Balabushka collector set. It doesn't have the little picture of Mosconi on the butt cap nor does it have the George Balabushka signature on the forearm. The points aren't dead even but other than that this cue is about as good as they get out of a factory door. It's still as straight as a string and very solid. The butt weighs 15.1 oz and each shaft is 4.4 oz/13.0mm.
Let me know what you think everyone?

I think you are right on, Bob. The only criticism I would offer is the arrangement of the inlays in the butt sleeve. Those should have been more symmetrically positioned (my guess would be there was intention to add something else below those boxes?), but the cue looks very nicely done overall. The veneers are extra nice.

Adams Bushka Tribute Cue

Hi Bob, that's a nice cue. I have one from that series, but I like yours alot more. I would have sold it long ago but I didn't know what to ask for it. Yours is beautiful and mine is Ho-Hum.Check it out and see what you think?

You said these are made for Adam cues? I thought Adam made these themselves in Japan. Am I wrong or did you just phrase it wrong.
Also that cue looks a lot better in that pic then the ones you see on internet sites.

Not all cues with a Adam logo are made in Japan, even some of the Balabushka cues are not made in the so called Adam factory. You see Adam never owned the production facility where their cues were made. Richard Helmstetter, did help them up grade the facility where the cues were and where some are still made, but David Foreman and Richard never owned the factory. For the Balabushka cues you can tell by the quality and the joint rings, for other cues it can be very hard to tell unless you you have seen a number of them first hand.

Hope this helps

Bob, nice looking Adams, i had three at one time first good cue i had bought. got them from a Adams dealer right outside the gate in Great Lakes while i was in a Navy school in 1978. the guy would slick up the shafts super slick right after you bought it, never forget those cues. Jeff

Bob, this is one i made for Johnny D. from Ca. hard to beat the old classic Bushka style. Jeff

I have the same pre-production cue. It doesn't have the little picture of Mosconi on the butt cap nor does it have the George Balabushka signature on the forearm. I also got an extra shaft, when I bought it. I have no idea what it is worth, but it plays very well, and has stayed straight as an arrow.

Hi Bob, yeah that style cue is basically what i'm looking for. Not custom but still nice. Is the weight adjustable in those cues? If you are thinking of selling it send me a message. thanks

What I adore ……yeah…..that’s right…..adore about this cue is the forearm color, the wrap that contrasts
great with the dark ebony points, the big stitch rings with silver rings, columns in the butt design, traditional
color veneers and the weight of the shafts at 4.4 ozs…..Wow……Jerry Rauenzahn told me that uneven points
are not a flaw and only confirms that the cue was assembled with someone doing hands on work. CNC gets it
right all of the time but people don’t always. Anyway, we discussed lots of cue making topics and uneven points
was merely one of them. Jerry was a stickler for getting things right and told me to closely examine some of George
Balabushka’s cue workmanship in person should the opportunity arise. Perfection is more of a goal than an outcome.

Really nice cue Bob. It’s one that you should hang into since this could be a time capsule cue. What I mean is 100 yrs.
from now, when the capsule is opened & they find this cue, the discoverers will be as impressed with it as much as I am.
