Though most pool players do not give themselves nicknames, other that "Handsome Danny Jones" I have never heard of one for John Brumback.
If he has oneI'd like to know . If not, maybe us AZers could come up with one. After watching him bank the last few years at D.C.C. and his all around play, his manner and friendliness I'd like to sugget a number of handles..
Silent Slammer
The Bad Bomber
Straight -back Brumback
The Bank Manager
Blazer Brumback

If we get some more suggestions maybe someone could start a poll of our best pick?

I love "Straight Back" for a bank player!
Take care, Les, and tell all the Piranhas hi.

Mr. Banks

The way he plays so consistently well, he has earned the name
"Mr. Banks"!

I like Straightback Brumback.

Truman signs his name... Truman "staightback" Hogue so I do not think that one will work.

I have heard people call him "Johnny Banks" before, but I like "Brumbanks".

If Truman signed 'Straight Back", I would'nt want to walk on him. I like Sir Banks -a-lot. I'll give this a couple days, then try a poll .LES

He had a popular nickname and I can't for the life of me remember what it was.

For a year, I'm guessing that John would be happy living with the name bestowed upon him at Derby City ----- Master of the Table.

I think you are correct, sjm. I think that weekend at DCC was the high point of Johnny's life, with the exception of the birth of children, of course.

"Johnny Banks" Simple and plain, much like John himself.

There is normally a bank player that plays in the DCC that's name is "Johnny Banks" At least that is what they call him by when announcing his matches. I always chuckle when they call his name.
