Nightmare Diamond one pocket table...LOL

That's the bevel angle of the facing in the pocket, 90 degrees would be standing straight up and down like a flat wall the balls would hit against. :D

Glen
I'm a bit confused. Do mean 0 degrees would be standing straight up and down? 12 degrees is certainly much different than 90 degrees.

And one last question. How does the down angle affect the playability of the pocket, if at all?

Thanks.

For all those that think they have tight corner pockets, a reminder...these corner pockets are 3 7/8"ths combined with a Diamond deep shelf slate.

there are a few diamonds in cape coral florida that tight. i cant remember what the place is called i entered into one of the viking tour stops there last year. all the tables face the same way except for 2 of them. the one i played on was a ball and a half. it was insane. but i loved it.

we looked like some apa 4's on that table.

That table is crazy. I was checking it out last time I was at the Golden Fleece. The friend I was with said they only let you play on it if you are playing $100 a rack. I don't know the truth to that but when I looked at it I was reminded of snooker pockets.

nice work !! that's the perfect pocket a piece table.

and i think my old friend Rodney (you know who you are) said "who cares if the tables tight. It doesnt matter to me. They're all the same size when you split hole...."

In the afterlife, if we don't make it into heaven, we should be condemned to playing on that table for an eternity. LOL.

Not true... you can only play one pocket on this table. That's it.

No... you don't have to be playing 100 a rack...

I was playing Dan louie one pocket on it for $h!ts and giggles. i think we played five games while he was waiting for his lesson to come in. He is a Strong 1H player that's for sure.

Greg Sullivan, you've got action with Harry Plattis anytime you want...LOL You did ask me if there was any Diamond tables around where Harry lived that you guys could match up on, well...there is, and all I had to do was kind of sort of, well...fix it up a little...hehe!

This picture is what you would have been playing on, but I said to myself...self, if people want to play one pocket on a tight pocketed table, and everyone says they've got the tightest table around, well hell, I'll give them something to think about the next time they want to talk about what's TIGHT!!!...lmao

Glen

This pro cut pocket table is NOT what you're playing on...hehe

Well, first, I would like to say it looks like you do beautiful work. I would kill to have you do the tables where I play.

Having said that (and I'm sure you only did what was requested), I have played on tables set up like this before and, frankly, you can make a table too tough, too tight, the pockets too small. To a degree, you need to be able to work the pocket, or you are reduced to just cinching balls.

IMO, you might as well play 1pocket on a snooker table if this is what you're after.

Believe me, I was against the pockets being made this tight, but after discussing all the pro's and con's about them being this tight, I lost the battle and tightened them up. Out of the 10 Diamond ProAms in the room, this table was going to be a ONE pocket table ONLY...LOL and made to be as hard to run out on as possible. But, to my surprise, not a player one has complained about the pockets being so tight, the games just keep going on. Players from all over come and play on this table. If I had to guess, about 95% of the use of this table is for money only. The only practicing going on on this table, is before the real games get started.

nice table

That table gets a lot of play at Dave's.Every time I have been there there is some1 matching up 1P on it.

Yes the pockets are tight but they play true and don't spit out balls.IMO a very good 1P table.
