No BCN at the Derby

Well you obviously have your reasons. If you are so unconcerned with what all the "d!ck riders" will say/think why don't you mention the people you find so un-talented by name?

I mean if you are such an "I don't care what people think....I KEEP IT REAL!!!" guy just say what you mean.

Bottom line is the game is open. ANYONE with $3K can play. First come first serve. There are many people on this board that could shoot $3K up in the air if they wanted and never miss it. Most people won't because they do not want to risk being embarassed on camera and in front of eveyone at he event. So a couple people you deem unworthy are playing....so now the whole game sucks?

Finally...just tell us who you are talking about. Man up...don't half ass slam somebody from the shadows. After all you are the lone rebel poster who don't care what everyone thinks...so say what you mean.
Please dont tell me to "man up" i think it is awful clear who i am talking about without mentioning a name. Its the 2 people know has ever heard and the 2 people who do not have an accu stats tape. It is not necessary to "say"their names.

I also am not the "lone rebel poster" i have received many many pms about people agreeing with me just know one has the cajones to say anything. As i said i just feel accu stats cant be happy strictly from a monetary standpoint that the ring games is now first come first serve lol

You are an educated person. Please go back and look at EVERY ring game in the past and tell me one person who played in it and then tell me one shortstop who could beat that person. I do not believe they were first come first serve.

They started as a "semi" invite meaning about 15 different players and the first ones to say yes out of those played, so it was a modified invite only. I know this for a fact if you would like to argue that.

But do you think they will televise this in syndication on a cable or satelite channel like the ones in the past ummm NO. It is a feeble attempt to be in the "spotlight" and everyone is falling for it even---TAR

LOL...what exactly do you have the cajones to say? You haven't said anything yet. Here is the thing most players are not going to put themselves in a $3000 ring game....hell last year despite repeated efforts they could not keep a $100 ring game going for more than a few hours and had to drop it to $50.

Basically the gee whiz factor of the game has dropped and the stake horses and players understand that there are easier ways to get a return on their money than to put it in a ring game. So to blame a couple of guys "Who Shall Not Be Named" for stepping up and shipping in the dough to take shot is IMO BS. If it means that much to you why didn't YOU stake someone you deemed worthy?

As far as TAR falling for anything...maybe...we like guys who send it in, we like guys who show some gamble and take the worst of it just to stir up the Action get people talking and excited. So yeah if all those things mean we are "falling" for it I guess you are right.

And one more thing about ring games...a good kid named Shane McMinn beat the following players in a ring game tourny format to win almost $20K last year: SVB, Orcollo,Corey,Gabe,Walden,Matlock,Wiley.....I guess no one told him that since he didn't have a bunch of Accu-Stat tapes he shouldn't play.

Your right the 100 and 50 dollar ring game at midnight with no one around and accu stats NOT TAPING and selling tapes for is the EXACT same as the HUGE highly popular sold out 18,000 dollar ring game in PRIME time .

Your right my mistake ( did you get the sarcasm) by the way i am NOT talking about SVB, John Schmidt, Alex or Louis Ulrich.

Again I and many have know Shane McMinn for years and know he can play, he is NOt the same but another good point you got me again.

Id rather watch a full ring game with 2 B players in it than watch no ring game at all?? No one is trying to buy out fatboy or art keck, Kieth dropped out. Itll be entertaining, have a lil faith.

I guess we just disagree on this one, I think you are giving the ring game a little too much credit as a media event. From the info I have gathered the number of viewers was not what many would think.

My point about the $100 ring game is...if you can't get guys to buy in for a $100 or $50 a game is it a big surprise when you can't get guys to buy in for $3K? There are just so many other easier games to be had....the spotlight appeal has worn off and many of the players just go do other things. It is kind of sad in a way because The $3K entry is actually pretty cheap when you look at everything you get with it.

As far as Shane, I like him and he is good player but a pretty substantial one on one underdog to most of the players he beat in Olathe. My point is if you stop people from taking chances...you stop the possibility of seeing amazing things. Is it gonna happen everytime...no. It is like alternate break kinda...yeah the matches are closer but you will never see a 10 pack either.

Anyway...I gotta get on the road for Louisville, stop in the action room and say hi if you have a chance, I would like to meet you I am sure we could make our points clearer in person. I was actually born and raised in Cincinnati (Northwest High School...represent!!!) LOL. So we got that in common.:D

See everyone in the 'Ville....we can all sweat this poor excuse of a ring game together:D

I agree points could be made better in person--- I am not trying to be a dick. I represent oak hills class of 98. I will stop in and say hi. My brother in law is the treasurer for northwest schools now and his wife a teacher there.

Cincyman... I think your posts regarding the ring game are mean spirited. I can't find any intention of doing any good for any cause within those posts... just a negative, meanness that brings no good into the world.

I think one of them you are refering to is Louis Demarco (spelling?), and if you paid any attention to previous derby city bank tournaments you would know who he is, so get your facts straight before you go flaming someone.

For all in the know.. Will the Accu-Stats TV table matches be shown on a channel in the Executive West rooms? I heard they have done this in years past. And is TAR going to hook their equipment into that system so the matches can be shown in the rooms? :D

Russ

In past years, they did show the TV table on the in-room TV's, but stopped doing that last year or the year before.

No........he is talking about Fatboy and Art Keck in the 10 ball ring game.

Louis is in the bank ring game and he is definitely not considered to be a tremendous underdog to anyone in the game.

Yes,
Was talking only about the nine ball not the bank pool.

Thanks jims for your OPINION, but i am also entitled to mine and did not mean to come accross mean spirited.

But your post , wow, that was definitely meant to bring positive goodness to the world--- Thanks.!!!!
