No more forum rules?

I have changed prices on my items that I am selling, but, just do a edit and a save, not a bump until proper time has lasped to do so. I also leave a outside email address as if someone is interested, hopefully they contact me there instead of az. You would be surprised how many people continue to pm me when I kindly ask for outside contact. I am not certainly trying to step on toes of course, but, I am amazed at a few members who have brought up the bumping situation and look at their number of posts, with 0 trades or maybe under 5. This is a great avenue and I enjoy reading and seeing things and being a part of the many groups here. It's fantastic. But, someone having over 1,000 posts and zero or one I trader ??, no problem, but, then they are worried about bumping ?? I just kinda smirk when I see it. No complaints. I try my best not to bump prior to the time. I also at times squint at myself as I update several posts during a sitting, but, I don't sit here all day long and get em done. I try also to group stuff as much as possible. Just an observation, again, no complaints. Wonderful forum.

The mods have better things to do than monitor this section 24/7. It's a thankless "job," and I don't know how anyone can expect them to catch everything. Besides, the rules shouldn't be necessary. Common courtesy should prevail. Unfortunately, some people aren't familiar with that concept.
It is what it is............

People should learn that if you price your items right, you don't need to bump them more than every 48 hours.

No I mean pricing items within what the items are selling for. Good items that are priced right always sell quick. Lomax, josey, Frey, etc all sell quick. I just find some people try to charge retail prices on here and and will have pages of nothing but bumps.

Are you kidding me???!!! Giving me a red rep for posting in your threat????
First, you break many rules by creating this stupid threat TO BEGIN WITH. And bash on everyone who disagrees with you and say YOU ARE THE ONE WHO BREAKS RULES HERE.
And now you give red rep to everyone who disagrees with you????!!!!!
WHAT AN A$$HOLE!!!!!

Like it or not I'm of the opinion that until we get better as a group, threads like this ARE needed!
One of our best sellers and a very nice and helpful Az'er posted a cue for sale a few days ago. Within an hour there must have been 4-6 comments (bumps) about how nice the cue was and what a great deal it was, what a great guy the seller is......STOP IT!!!
It was not the seller's fault that these bumps occurred after he posted but i do think that seller should have broken the rules to ask all of these commentators to stop.
It make that seller look like a violator because of the actions of others.....again....we can do better.

The rule is a simple one, but no one plays by the rules: No "nice cue" bumps!

I feel threads like this one can only help. Many new members don't even know they are breaking the rules...

I think it may be helpful if you had to have atleast 25 posts as well as read the rules for this section before listing a item for sale.

For some this is just a free "eBay". To sell their store merchandise.

I can remember when this was a place for collectors to buy , trade and sell rare and hard to find billiard item's and less production cues/items. When you did buy something that was more of a "stock" or "production" item it was at whole sale so the seller would pass the savings on to the buyer's since there isn't fees attached to AZ.

To many people just join to sell items for free. This section sure isn't what it used to be.

I doubt you will get a definitive answer to this. All I have to say is that I am glad I am not selling anything at this time. It must be very frustrating to say the least. :shakehead:

What about people listing many items at once taking most of a page? Within minutes one person can bump a thread a page or 2 back? Inconsiderate? Free eBay???

It would be nice if some would just take a minute or 2 to read the forum rules and follow them.. They really aren't that complicated and are helpful for everyone.

Rules

I wish they would divide up for sale stuff with a production section and custom section or something to separate the junk from the collectable cues/cases

Yes!! Now I agree with this!! Production cues should have their own section, after all they are NOT CUSTOM CUES PERIOD!! and should be listed accordingly!! Sorry this is just a comment but it does get a little frustrating!!;)

Just make a FLIPPER section where the dealers can bump their cues and their friends cues constantly. Honestly there will never be a solution that works for everyone in all situations. All the members have a right to sell and monitoring it 24/7 will never happen. I see no way for it to be run fairly for everyone. The self rule has not worked, having no rules has not worked and having rules that are not enforced has not worked...Let it BE!

Wow. .. is all I can say. I agree with all... but to red rep someone for telling the rules. The op should be all red... by now. Just my 2 cents

whose to draw the line on custom and production, Schon, Joss, Pechauer?
You are better off in price ranges... But even still not really going to work. IF you are going to make subforums

Make them by company or type of pool that is to be played with the cue;
American:
Schon
Joss
Pechauer
Jacoby
etc...
European/Russian:
[dont know any]

Wow, that's name calling, which is also against forum rules. I quote:

there will be no ad hominem attacks. No name calling nor insults. Disagreeing with someone is fine, but calling them an idiot because of their opinion is not.

Just in case you need to brush up on other rules before you break them, please read (or re-read) them in its entirety so you know what is appropriate here on AZ.

Not every one has/can afford a custom product that's a grand or better. What you consider "junk" is what someone else would consider within their price range. I frequent the Wanted/For Sale threads, and am not sure what you mean by "junk." To a Bushka collector, your 'stuff' may seem like 'junk', too. Generalization at its worst. Sorry, but some people need to come off their high horse and have their heads deflated.

Are we all blind?

It is very obvious what is going on here. There is a " Rat Pack " mentality amongst some of the sellers. You bump my thread and I will bump yours. The most obvious one is the seller (name not to be mentioned by me) who refuses to show pictures and prices of his cues that are for sale.

Someone comes along and sees the thread and says "what is the price? ". Free bump. Another comes along soon after and says " thats the way he does business". Another free bump. And on and on it goes.
