Yes, the last 2 stops were intended to be members-only stops, however one of them (London) was cancelled.
It is the only way Sigel might have a chance to earn a card for next year. I think 60 of the 100 qualifiers have done better than he has in these tourneys.
For a majority of the card holders it is their only hope to have 50 less players. Atleast they will finish 150th or better instead of the 151st to 200th place.

I think every IPT players should send Sigel a percentage of this year's winnings just to say thanks.
If Mike Sigel had not QUIT playing in protest then I am confident that he would still be one of the best and most recognizable players on Earth. All of you who revere Strickland's skill might not remember that Sigel owned him in the 80's and early 90's.
I think Sigel deserves a LIFETIME IPT card and everyone else can compete for the other 149 spots.

Well, they needed to start somewhere.
And when players such as Oliver Ortmann, Sandor Tot, Roger Lysholm and so on didn't answer on IPTs invitation, they needed other players such as for example Ryan Keller, who has only made 6 games on two tournaments...
Oliver Ortmann could be a member from the start, but ended up paying the entry for the qualifier and made it. Roger Lysholm and Sandor Tot got warned by the EPBF not to trust the IPT, so they didn't answer yes to the invitation. Both tried to be members on the qualifiers for the tour card, but failed. However, Mr Tot has qualified for both Open-events, and it looks like he is getting a card for 2007.

I think the initial list was decided thru applications that was sent back to IPT. I not really sure if Alex P. got an invitation because I remembered reading from the IPT website, KT said that he wanted Alex P. in the tournament but hadn't sent his application. SO I'm not really surprise if some prominent players where just automatically included.

Or for at least a 5 year period or the initial KT period. The mouth definitely 'brings it' when he's talking, and often something of great value to the tour is spoken in or out of context. He speaks like all pool players live their lives, trial and error, and if you don't error your not trying and if your not trying you'll never make a mistake. Mike speaks like he plays and learns from committing to a statement, right or wrong thats how he learns, kinda like missing a shot eh, kinda like a pool player eh ????
