No one wants to look at Daz's big ears or Shane's foreheard. Dennis and Alex are tiny elves.

Where are the Fabio's of the pool world?

Yep, the NBA doesn't have to put up with that bs...

Mom said I'm adorable, but I never make the tv matches....come tooth ink of it, she said that the day I moved out:smile:

One of the dumbest posts I've seen yet.

Believe it or not, this topic comes up a ton when the average viewer flips across ESPN.
My younger sisters would take a pause when Niels Feijen was on. That never failed.
At turning stone, if they stopped in, they were fans of Iceman Mika and of course, Thorsten's biceps. They could care less what a push out was.

And back in 2007, when Jasmine was rising up the ranks, I could get my friends to forget about the Yankees vs red Sox and tune in with ease.

So looks do count especially when it comes to the all important average viewer. It's reality.

And I had a co-worker (new college hire) who didn't play much pool but he was really impressed that I knew Jeanette Lee and was even more impressed when I came back from Derby City with a Jeanette poster inscribed to him.

On the other hand I had an Irish co-worker who knew most of the top snooker players like O'Sullivan and he also played little or not at all.

Or, maybe one day pool fans will stop focusing on the negative all the time....
Nope nope nope, brain fart... What's was I thinking!

Sex sells. That's why beach volleyball is popular in the Olympics. IMO, all the pool players should look more like Thorston, than league beer drinkers. Both from their bodies, to their clothing.

I was friends with one pool groupie who was IN LOVE with Thorston at one of the Expo's 10 years ago. She was following him around.

Appearance matters. In everthing in life.

Boring to watch...

I can't imagine any one who is not a pool player wanting to watch pool. A guy walking around the table poking a ball in a hole with a stick. Geeze.

I don't bowl or golf and think it is boring to watch.

I wonder if my wife thinks I am boring when I talk about pool?

As Leslie Neilson said in 'The Naked Gun';.."Shirley, you can't be serious"!:thud:

I don't think we need those type of "fans".
That said, almost every guy I know....
KNOWS and loved watching Jeanette Lee.

Lol, you are funny. Pool is not a modeling contest for good looking people. It is filled with all sorts of different types of people (why care about their looks?). I imagine that there are many very popular tv sports that are not filled with good looking people.

Pool is a beautiful game played by ugly people

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Look at how ugly some of the most beautiful ladies in history had/have for boyfriends and husbands. Unless you are universally beautiful (example: the average model), then you are just like everyone else (average). Why put down a persons looks? I imagine you have flaws too (everyone does, right?). They are world class pool players, who we love to see play this great game. Who cares about their looks.

Oh yeah, I always loved Jasmine.

I never played golf, but always enjoyed watching it. Always loved golf movies too (movies about golf players).
