Sure, why not. Then you can be just like the rest of the knobs doing the same thing.

I'm sure AZ exists just for you and the sun shines out of your butt too.
We are most thankful for the morning sunshine that you provide for the rest of us.

If you make a bunch of meaningless posts you may very well get banned for spamming. Then I am quite sure that those posts will be deleted and you still won't be able to see the action forum.

just out of curiosity, why do you feel the need to start ANOTHER thread on this, when there is no way you could have missed the other countless threads already started?

I have no issue with lurkers, but c'mon... as popular as this forum is, you can't find anything to post a meaningful comment to, every now and then?

But when you find out you need a measly 25 posts to view a specific forum, none of you have any problem spamming the forum with useless posts.

If that's how you pay back the people that host this forum for free to you, maybe they wouldn't be all broke up about it, if you didn't come here it all.

Thoughts from the lurkers?

I'm s lurker my self and I hate it when people post some random stuff just to get the post count up...

Maybe they should make it 250 posts. Then it would be easier to find the spam and those who really wanted to view would have to start contributing.

I am fairly new to this forum and have never been in the action room. Whats going on in there that everyone wants in?? And now there is a cover charge!!
Its got to be a stripper pole or free beer,,,

LOL! Well, there's an army of new members who have joined in recent times. It seems as if the membership requirements and/or admission process have lessened, making it easier to join this forum. That is good news for some new members as well as some "old" members. ;)

I wouldn't post a bunch of meaningless posts to get the 25. I joined in on a few and lost the posts that I had that were legitimate.........fair warning.

I do think that lurkers are being unfairly critized by regular posters. All forums have lurkers and many more than regular posters if you look at the statistics.

why do people lurk:
they don't have knowledge to contribute in the field.
they don't want to be berated for their lack of knowldedge.
they are not type A personalities.
they are not looking for attention.
they like to ease into forums and discussions.
they already know everything about CTE and want everyone else to suffer.
just a start.

I am ADD/ADHD and a type A personality and you really don't want to get me started, so, I've lurked in the background and now I'm outed.

If Pocketpoint could stay on here for months without getting banned anyone should be able to.

thanks,
da mayor

You *do* bring up a good point. I happen to know of three pool industry members who, by their own admission, do not post on AzBilliards. One reason given by one was that if he/she posted in a thread, he/she would feel compelled to reply to other reply posts, and quite frankly, he/she said he did not have time to do it. BUT he/she does enjoy reading the forum without posting. So that is food for thought. :)

Jenny you said it there. When I signed up for AZ, it was a couple months before I was approved and could sign on. I don't know what happened that people can get on and post within a day. Maybe there should be a waiting period. If someone who was banned had to wait a few months before they could post again it would lessen the air barrel damage.

Exactly right. It would also help eliminate banned members posting and/or those with multiple identities.

In recent times, I can think of one person who had over five -- count them -- FIVE (5) identities on this forum. After they would get banned under one identity, they just came back with a new one the next day, no problem. I'm not sure why this is allowed.

It is my understanding that the rules of this forum used to be the three-strike rule, and then you're banned forever after the third strike.

Can anyone explain shy they put a 25 post rule on this? many new people enjoy reading the post, too what about the new people trying to post for action, but don't feel the need to start useless threads or comment on threads that have been posted with the same dead horse information. Just my 2cents:confused:

With so many gambling sites being investigated by the Feds, maybe the owners got wise and decided to protect the "action room" a little with the 25 post rule.
just a thought
