on a more serious note...If u got the time use it...like i told another earlier today...In my adult life i've been around champions..and from what i have gathered there are no shortcuts...period..If u want to be great..put in the time...I lil rule u can follow is...8 hours a day..everyday for 2 solid years or once you have hit your millionth ball..trust me...u will know which 1 comes 1st..good luck with your journey...Troy..If you get a reputable instructor you could shave a lil time off the 2 years.

I second that motion. Most of us have a general idea what is required to play pool. Very few instinctively know how to learn to play well. We go through trial and error, and when we hit on something that works, wek stash that away in our bag of tricks.

A good instructor can help you understand what, why, and how you need to tend to various aspects of your game. They can give you a road map to the quickest way to get where you want to go. If you know what you need to do, you can practice the right things, and stay away from the trial and error method of learning.

3rd! A teacher can help you save years off your learning curve. And as the Miz says, "practice, practice, practice".
