The Sang Lee International Open starts Monday, August 1st at the Carom Cafe in Flushing, NYC. The prize fund is $100,000 which makes it the richest US 3-C tourney in many decades. Play ends on Sunday the 7th.

Three generations of Ceulemans will be there from Raymond to Peter. Also playing are Sayginer, Blomdahl, Jaspers, Zanetti, and Daniel Sanchez from Spain who just won both the World Championship and the carom gold medal at the World Games in Germany.

Versace(!) cue cases will be available for sale to help support the tournament.

For more info, see: http://www.caromcafe.com/2005internationalTournament.html

Thanks Bob

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the update on the Sang Lee Invitational. I sure wish I could be there to remember Sang Lee with all of you guys, but I'm not able to at this time. Please pass on my regrets for his passing and say hi to the gang for me. I'm sure it will be one hell of show of awesome billiards. Is Accustats filming?

Hi Bob,

Wish I could be there. Not possible this year. One of our local fans will be attending. If you see a distinguished gentleman wearing a Panama Hat, please say hello to Al "Panama Jack" Metzinger.

Interesting sideline. I played some three cushion at the Las Vegas Cue Club last week. Mentioned that to some Cue Club regulars. Each reacted with suprise. Each said "where the hell is there a billiard table at the Cue Club"!!! Due to space limitations, Henry placed both the billiard table and the snooker table on what has become the "kids" side of the room. Sadly, there is no talk of recovering/rebuilding the table. It sure needs it. Regardless of the tables playing condition, it was sure fun! I would guess I averaged less than one billiard per four innings  . Hell, who was counting. Who cared. Had a great time. Stop by and say hello to Greg Kuhl. He loves the game. Has no one to play with.

i was told these guyz like to goof around on the table before a tourney. also,,,blomdahl might shoot some 9ball,,,,,interesting. there will be a $1,000,000 shot contest. it will draw interest but will be an impossible carom. basically, i believe you make a carom off a start, and then you reset the three balls, make a carom, and have all three balls rest in the same spots as they layed in your first attempt....................that's why it's a $1,000,000 shot.

personally,,,,i would love to see these guyz play one pocket.

As a red-blooded American woman shopper, I know the Versace line of clothing, and it's top shelf. I would really be interested in seeing what a Versace cue case looks like! I tried to search on Google, but came up empty.

Here's the link to Versace. The music cracks me up, keeps me tapping my feet! :D http://www.versace.com/flash.html

That has got to be the most tastefully done website I've ever encountered, very informative, interesting to read, and easy to navigate. WOW!

The Sang Lee International Open looks like a first-class affair! I really like the poster for this event, as depicted below! :p

I know this thread is ancient history but I came across it looking for something else.

I actually ended up with one of those 3 Versace cue cases. As I understand. there were 3 Versace cases made to support the 3 years of this event, a smooth Italian (of course) leather, a lizard or snake skin, and the one I have which is green ostrich skin with purple velvet interior. All of the hardware on this case is high end metal and construction/materials are pretty amazing just like their fine handbags.

I believe it was Santo Versace who was the fan of 3C billiards and had these cases made to show his support.

The NYC 3C event referenced above was held in 2005, 8 years after the murder of company founder, Gianni Versace.

best,
