HiJack...That avatar...please note Pudges in Blue Bell overrides S. Philly steaks. Need proof?...I'm buying.

Re hijack. been there to Pudges many times since 1980. Great steak but not the same as when Pudge was alive. Is Pat's the best? In my heart it is and it will always be Pat's. After Phillies games, after late nights and early mornings at the poolroom, the characters I have met there at 8th and Wharton in my reckless youth...........tradition.

This doesn't surprise me considering the caliber of player they chose to sponsor! Sorry you were mistreated!

It would sound to me that Pre-2017 OB cues will become the desirable choice and the value will rise accordingly.
A PREDICTION ... in 60 years Royce will be considered a magical cue making wizzard and Pre-2017 OB cues will be worth thousands ... just like the vintage SouthWest cues are today.

I'm not taking one side or the other in any of this. But, was very curious how Mary gets fired if her husband owned half the company? Would she not own half the company upon his death? How does the "owner" get fired?

What I'm going to share is totally speculative, so let me say that up front. It is not uncommon when a partner in a business dies, that the role of the person who inherits those shares is not clearly defined in a "line of succession" plan. The interpretation of what may be written is also up for debate in many cases. My guess with what little I know is that this the issue at hand.

It wouldn't be hard to imagine that the "quality issue" is largely made up and is being proliferated as retaliation for a ruling that left some folks on the short end of the stick.

I'm not saying that's what it is, but that's what most immediately came to mind when I read everything. That sort of thing is quite common actually. And if this was the case, or sort of something close, how bad would Shane look if he outed the situation and washed his company's dirty laundry in public. You can fix a question of quality a lot easier than appearing the way many might see him if he said anything negative about Royce's widow.

I'll restate my position, I'm not on either side here. I'm just sharing my thoughts from my extremely limited perspective.

Won't that be based on the will or some company documentation? Won't working at a company be different than owning a part of the profit? I would think that as an part owner of something, my kids may be entitled to profits from the company but not be entitled to run it. I like OB as a company but did find that message from the widow a bit disturbing.
