OB Presents TAR 34: Efren Reyes vs Shane Van Boening All Around

Sadly I don't think Efren can win this.

I think he shoots good enoguh to go with SVB, but in the 8-ball and 10-ball his break compared to SVB's is a giant achilles heel.

Dennis Orcullo's own break let him down against SVB in 8-ball against SVB and Dennis actually breaks pretty well, one hell of alot better then Efren.

Efren will get out on most of the racks he gets to look at but after winning a game he will break dry too many times and SVB will smack him with too many packages due to his break simply giving him that many more first shots at the table after the break.

Efrren as good as he is/was has always had one of the weaker breaks for the professional level, let alone compared to the best breaker on the planent atm.

If alex the lion beat him, so can efren

what did SVB/Orcollo race to in 8 ball and one pocket?
What did Corey/Schmidt race to in 8 ball and one pocket?

Now you get the oldest against the youngest and the races are extended, wow. good match though

Efren had one condition on playing the match. The one pocket had to be race to eleven. The 10 ball is either two games more or three games less than before because it was either 25 or 30 in previous matches I cant remember which. Pro's playing 8 ball on a big table does not take long. The SVB/Dennis match only took about 3 and half hours and I think that was a race to 15.

I'd buy the DVD. I almost never have time to watch these streams but I can watch DVD's on my own time. Thanks for doing it nonetheless Justin. You still owe me a match btw, as I never was able to get the last one to work(I hear ya'll got the problem fixed since then though so that's cool).

rooting for the old guy

Send me your PayPal receipt for what you bought that didnt work for you to justin at theactionreport dot com and I will refund whatever it is.

Justin, I tried to check out the seating availability at the site, but I couldn't find anything. Maybe my brain's still a little dehydrated from last night. I'll be down there during that time and am curious as to the cost. This will be something special, that's for sure.

Its $50 a day. Send me an email at the address referenced in the above post and let me know what days you want to come and I'll put your name on the list.

This is an epic match up but one I cannot watch. Anyway thanks to TAR, OB, CSI, and Kamui. I'm getting married that weekend and my new wife will divorce me if I'm sneaking pool on our wedding night!

Congrats on your marriage sir.

After TAR 33 and 34 are over I will be focusing on getting the VOD system going and those matches will be some of the first up so you and anyone else who misses them will have a chance to watch whenever its convenient.

I'm KBfromSC, I have no clue how to look up a paypal receipt. I don't really even care about the money, keep it as a donation towards the cause. I just wish there was a way to watch previously recorded matches because the streams are always at times when I'm at work. I know the dvd's aren't very profitable and I understand that but the livestreams don't work for everyone either. I like to pause/ff/rew matches too which is another drawback to livestreams.

What's the latest on this Vimeo business? I don't want anything for free so I refuse to watch TAR matches on YouTube. You guys deserve to make a living too.

We launched the SVB Instructional on the Vimeo VOD platform and its worked great. The TAR matches will get their own set up on the platform. Between the SVB thing and the upcoming matches plus a few other things I just havent had time to get everything done in the proper way. It will happen after 33 and 34.

Justin, I know there was a thread about all the TAR matches a while back, can you send me a link to that please. And if its not up to date, how bout a list of all the TAR matches with the players. Thanks in advance.

Charlie

Looking forward to your upcoming matches JCIN! I might have to wait as well for them to become available on VOD, which is fine. I am looking forward to watching Alex/Busty and you just can't beat Efren/SVB! Thanks for the great matchups!

“The following preview has been approved for all audiences by the action players association of America.”

That was funny, dude.

i'd say efren in 1-pocket and SVB for 10-ball no doubt.
for 8-ball, it's gonna be tough to choose since shane has a really good break, but efren is the most intelligent 8-ball player i've seen. actually reminds me of this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsCLcuLXlEM

OUTSANDING match! Instant classic. I will be pulling for Efren, but I think Shane is playing too strong now. I was surprised that Efren was eliminated so quickly at SBE. While I regard him as one of the greatest players ever, unfortunately, he may be a bit past his prime. Shane takes this one. I will definitely be watching the PPV. Looking forward to it, great job putting the match together!

I think you have to make Shane a clear favourite here. Forget the fact that he flat out plays stronger than Efren these days (and I love Efren - who doesn't?), but his break in the 8-ball and 10-ball is going to be borderline impossible for Efren to fade.

EDIT: Awesome match, though. Looking forward to it.

Don't watch it ken. I can't wait! Efrens the greatest player I've ever watched but he may be a bit past his prime to beat Shane

Efren is the best player I have ever seen too.

My point was I have seen SVB MANY times on TAR, it would have been great to see someone else that hasnt been on there.

Will I watch it? Maybe.

Should be a great match Ken. Shane is on TAR a lot but I'm cool with it. I want to watch the best players in the world play. I personally love to watch Shane play! Thanks TAR crew for putting this together!!
