I may end up keeping this just because but I will entertain offers and trades. The story starts over 3 1/2 years ago with me wanting to sell this cue and accidentally knocking a small nick in the very bottom of the butt(hardly noticeable) I shipped this to Proficient Billiards and apparently UPS lost this cue (I have theories) .So fast forward to last wednesday I get a call from a very nice woman who says she found my cue still sealed in the tube I sent it in and even commented on how I had completely wraped it with tape and that may have saved it from any water damage etc.... She stated her two kids were using it as a fake sword and raining down terror on each other???I was elated to here the cue was still around and she promtly mailed it to me as I asked her to.What I find even stranger is that she said she had opened it to see what it was and got my phone number and she would put it back in the same bubble wrap and news paper it was in .When it arrived TODAY it was in a USPS tube mailer with no packing whatsoever and when I found it on the front deck it had all but knocked the cap off the tube and fell out  I am taking this by the pool room to get it checked on a lathe but from what I can tell it is in the same pristine shape it was in when I mailed it over 3 1/2 years ago . At this point I will take offers ,suggestions ,or what have you .However the jury is still out on whether or not to sell this or accept it as fate and see it as a good Omen that it came home to me. I only have the butt and the cue was around $1700 new with 2 shafts .Jim said shafts would run $150-$200 pending on what I wanted.
CUE IS SOLD !!

had to empty box

my inbox was full for a while and did not even know it .All clear now :D

Very strange

It's great that it came back.

Any more story? How did the woman get your cue? Her kids found the 'sword' tube where? In the 'stay out of there' closet?

Maybe it's enough that it magically re-appeared.

It is very strange.

You must be living right.

Take care

Come on...

So you're telling me that I, and every other schmuck that half-ass plays pool, continuously search for that one magic cue...

and you're trying to get rid of yours?!?

That's an excellent looking cue, and it has a cool story. Good luck with whichever route you decide on.

All the better if you may or may not have received insurance money from the original "disappearance"

Congrads to you,,;) You never hear anything like this..NEVER !! Im just glad you got the cue back after all this time and glad to hear that there are still honest and good unselfish people still out there in the world. It just makes you wonder what someone would have done that was a avid pool player or knew about cues and just what they had in their hands... Im glad it worked out for you in the end just like a early christmas present. << ED

Wow, I bet you never thought you'd see that again. How amazing. But what the heck went with the shafts?

shafts

I sold the shafts after about 9 months ,wrote it off .Did not think I would ever see the cue again.

Awesome Matt! That's always been my favorite James White cue. I'm glad
you got it back. Does the search for the shafts start now?

Yea, I was guessing something like that. Thank goodness they can be replaced. So was this on the way to Scot or on the way back?

The way there

The lady that found it is in a town very close to Scott. Quick update for those making offers .I did get it on a lathe tonight and all is well .Even borrowed a shaft from a friend , with a predator 314 it hits really sweet . Although I did like the originals from Jim a bit better.

I recently recieved a cue that was once lost to me for almost 5 years after sending it out for a refinish.. i counted it as gone but never gave up hope and one day it surfaced and came baack to me..

congrats on your good fortune.. and the return of your beautiful cue.. i only wish i was in a position to make an offer because its exactly the type of cue i would love to have..
