Cool beans! I *will* most definitely be getting one of these, maybe a couple. I like the Universe clothing line's graphics a lot: Universe Clothing website. Reminds me a lot of Ed Hardy.

Really? I figured you would be completely offended by the use of a woman on the shirt and the term "nice rack" they are nice quality shirts though, I bought one at the derby and like it, I figured I might as well get one why they are available since like most flash in the pan pool/billiard apparel companies it won't last.

I was trying to express my joy at having this new-to-the-pool-scene industry member providing a cool pool product. I first noticed this company when Johnny Archer was on The Today Show. He and Dennis Hatch were wearing the clothing brand.

My intent on posting to this thread was to be positive. :(

ETA: I give up. Posting on this forum just ain't much fun anymore.

It's difficult to be nice on a forum filled with mean-spirited people.

To be clear on what I give up on, I give up trying to post my thoughts on topics that I deem as positive and good for pool.

Nope, not at all and I said they are nice quality shirts I personally just see the brand lasting as a flash in the pan as I don't really see a market for "clothing by players for players" or whatever when we dont even have a tour to speak of. Sometimes whats real, is negative, my bad.

Jam it's nice to see you have a positive look on these shirts, but in all fairness in another thread not long ago you were against people's avatars that had girls in them. I could see where the other poster could see this as being on both sides of the fence. I don't really see him as being negative as much as being surprised. That's just how I seen it anyway.

Thank you for the reply.

To be clear, I have never, ever had a problem with females in avatars, but I do not enjoy seeing scantily dressed women with their buttocks and breasts hanging out. Quite a difference.

The woman in the T-shirt design by Universe Clothing is fully clothed. :)

Actually from reading the article the shirts are not available yet but will be sometime this spring.

I like the images but the owner is getting a bit carred away in his comments in the AZ article -- they are out to change the image of pool?? I think I have seen skeletons on pool shirts and women with the wording 'nice rack' on pool shirts for decades. (Does this Nick work for Bonus Ball :) cause his marketing words are quite similar to the sham wow technique of BB)

I also like long sleeve shirt but a V neck for a male, not so much.

The positive here is that the shirts will be available for the public for the Mosconi Cup. Hopefully some of the money would get filtered down to the players.

I was thinking the same thing... I like that quirky style.
Definitely gonna get a team shirt

I kind of have a feeling that the design is going to be really cool for the Mosconi Cup.

What is impressive is this company is fairly new to the pool scene, yet they've made a big score with Barry Hearn. That right there shows me that this company has an aggressive business model and intends to do whatever it takes to get their brand name out there. Even though I remember them from Johnny Archer's Today Show trick shot, they've got my attention now more than ever. :)

I can't wait to see the Mosconi Cup shirt. :happydance::happydance::happydance:

Fair enough, I guess I seen it as a picture of a woman with nice rack written across where her chest is and I lump that into the same type of picture. I hope they make some nice shirts for the MC. They have done some nice ones, I'm not a big fan of tee shirts especially the "Ed Hardy" lookalikes but I do like dressier collared shirts.

I'm not sure how old you are, but the "nice rack" slogan has been around for a long time. I've seen it on vintage clocks and posters from yesteryear.

I have a bittersweet memory about the "nice rack" slogan. When I met Keith for the first time at a pool tournament in Maryland, he was hanging out with a New England straight pool champion named Larry Lisciotti. Larry was well known for being funny and cutting up, as was Keith. They were like two peas in a pod. :grin-square:

Larry and Keith were very close friends, and Larry passed away about 5 or 6 years ago.

The tournament ended and everybody went their own way back home. Keith remained in Maryland for a spell, and I was struck by Cupid's arrow when it came to Keith. The two of us joined forces and became a couple. :smiling-heart:

About 6 months later, Keith and I started going to pool tournaments on the East Coast, especially the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour. We traveled to Chelmsford, Massachusetts, to County Club Billiards to attend a huge Joss tournament. Everybody was there, from Jose Parica, Earl Strickland, Charlie Williams, Johnny Archer, Nick Varner, the Russian, to Larry Lisciotti.

This was the first time that Keith and I had seen Larry since the tournament in Maryland, Larry was feeling no pain, shall I say, and walked up to us. He looked at me and said, "Well, so you're still together," and then he said, "Nice rack," and walked away. It took me a couple seconds to realize that he was giving me a compliment. :o

As an aside, Larry and Keith both got in action in some long-rail banks with the Russian that tournament. It was beautiful!

I'm not against that type of shirt, i just don't find it classy that's all. I have no problem with anyone wearing them people can wear what they want, they are somewhat popular everyone makes them.

With all due respect, the shirts aren't even out yet. Maybe they will have collared shirts as well as T-shirts.

It's kind of hard to pass judgment before the product has even hit the shelf. :embarrassed2:
