It's warped in the handle. Like Joey says, most likely the cue was improperly stored at some point in its life. Better send it back and pronto.

Chris

I had this guy I know Thursday night, that had me look at a cue he has with a bad warp in the handle right above the buttsleeve. When I rolled It out on the table, It had to have been one of the worse rolls I have ever seen. I asked him if he ever kept it in his vehicle, and sure enough, It stayed in His truck from what He said. He had this cue for years and all of a sudden this bad warp appeared. Only a matter of time I guess, especially in the extreme climate changes.

There is very much wobble with one shaft joined, and significant wobble with the other shaft joined.
Hey Hal, as long as thingie gives you a full refund. That should be all taken care of, Just have to look for another one that's all.

The seller is giving a full refund.
Don't waist any time getting that cue back the fastest way possible and put this nightmare behind you. You are very lucky to be dealing with a seller who will take the cue back and give a full refund.

Hello Everyone

Are we still talking about the same SW here? I only know of one that Thingie has to sell.

While i did not know or noticed any ding back then, I did know about the wobble.

If you look into thingie previous thread i think the wobble was discuss before about this cue.

So sorry that you were unaware of it. My heart would sink too if i received a brand new cue and see that when i roll it across the table and not expecting it.

I am sure thingie will make good his promise to return everything that he owes you.

If it is any consolation, there are a ton of southwest out there waiting to be bought! I just sold a nice one and plays good too! I am sure you will find another.

Best regards
Chris

I know a cuemaker that has seen and fixed many a Southwest that wasnt "straight", usually in the handle...............

firstly, i have to say, if it was dinged and warped, I would have mentioned it straight up. why would i even contemplate risking my hard earned rep over a $2000 cue?

secondly, it was ding-free and flawless when it left my hands. How it got dinged and warped is a mystery to me. There is a hundred and one reasons why the ding and warp could appear, why choose to blame the seller only? Could i not also say that you might have dinged it and blamed me instead? There was a substantial time difference between when you received it and when you told me abt the ding. There's a lot of word going around about southwests and the parabolic taper and i'm not expert about it. but if the roll was that bad, i would not have thought abt putting it up for sale.

thirdly, this really should have been settled via pm. why blow it up? if you needed to ask abt whether it could be warpage or something to do with cue construction, why throw my name into the works?

so let's keep this simple, check your pm and all the info you need is there.

You want me to send the cue to someone else first? No. Give me a full refund and I'll return the cue or ship it where ever you want me to. It's packaged and ready to ship.

I'm the victim here. I'm calling the shots. I will not be inconvenienced. You are the seller. Make it right. I PM'd you my Paypal ID.

I paid you before I got the cue. Now you pay me before you get the cue. That's how it's going to happen.

im not getting into this because im a singaporean or what.. :o but when thingie was photographing the cue, i was there, and it looked fine.. hope u guys can compromise, come up with something and put this episode behind..

There's no dirty laundry. He offered a full refund. Now he's making excuses. Give me my refund. It's that simple.

Im just curious to know if SW is supposed to be such a great cue then why do alot of them seem to roll funny?,seems like there cue construction needs alittle bit of work.

You're the one who keeps posting about this for everyone else to see, not the other guy. My point stands.
