Oh noooooo, its a 'Polar Vortex'!!!!!.....;)

If you live on the north shore of Lake Erie, winters can be much worse than Toronto. Erie is the most shallow of the Great Lakes, with a rounded bottom. So the winds kick up the worst waves.

I've been to Toronto during the summer and yes I enjoyed it a great deal !

I'll suffer through winter's here in the sticks ha ha
Go to the Montana Bar and drink a pint for me ! That is if it's still open of course , the Peel Pub put out a darn good breakfast that I enjoyed also !
The Peel Pub is doing so well they are closed for expansion….Ive eaten there.

How about the Montana Bar I believe the address was on Jackson St not far from the Peel Pub .
Looks like that location has closed….there are a lot still open though.
….if you ever come to this area again, try the Horseshoe Tavern, Queen near Spadina…..I guarantee you’ll like it.

Granted it's been quite sometime since I was in Toronto for a union convention I certainly enjoyed my stay .
I'd like to return for another visit but sadly I don't think it'll happen .
The CN Tower was a rush also if I did return I'd get a reservation for a meal there just because , my girlfriend wouldn't probably get in the elevator much less ride it up to the first stop but the plexiglass floor was something else !

37 above here in the Snow Hole in the Middle of Montana ha ha tonight's low may drop down to 18 above , if you're wondering the Snow packed roads are getting slushy so watch out if and when it freezes !
I seen a friend of mine who fell down in a snow drift then couldn't get up and frost bit his hands and fingers , he is a computer programmer pool player and bowler none of which he will be doing for awhile sadly .

I think we have similar girlfriends Rusty. We went to Niagara Falls a few years back, and I reserved a table in the Skylon Tower for dinner one night. She stood in the back of the elevator and faced the wall on the way up, and wouldn't sit next to the window in that rotating restaurant. She gets weird about heights.

Weather here in central NY has been holding steady in the mid 20s for the past few days. My driveway is still an icy base with some blown snow over that. That seems to help with driving up and down it, so it can stay there for now. Also, I'm anxious to get out there into the woods again and change the chips on my trail cameras, I haven't done that since mid January. It's also a good time to go walk around looking for shed antlers. The deer trails are really obvious now. Doing that kind of walking through deeper snow is not easy though. I don't have a snowmobile, and even the quad gets stuck in deep drifts. The cameras and the antlers will have to wait for now.

We are at 280” for the season.
Not very cold here but still have 3.5 months of snow in front of us.
Have had a nice place in Crested Butte for 40 years or so - never go in the winter. Yep, I'm a snow p*ssy (apologies to the ladies).

Yeah, it snows here in Chicago - that's how I know to avoid it.

Polar Vortex... that's when it gets below 70°, right?

Was just thinking about this thread. We're 40 deg and sunshine right now. Supposed to get in the mid 40's all week but some snow/rain. Hope it isn't freezing rain when I get out of league on Monday and Wed. Took the dog for a long walk down the dead end road along our property, he was loving it. I'm ready for some good weather as predicted. These past below zero days of late have gotten old.
Low winds finally though and it's really nice here now.

I'm certain that I -90 at Livingston is detoured through downtown because of high wind gusts coming down the canyon from Yellowstone National Park , it's amazing how it can knock over semi trucks and trailers with so little effort or any other high profile vehicles for that matter .

The same holds true on the highway between Eddie's Corner and Harlowtown .
