Where are the Action Reports?

Nothing on this forum, nothing on the Action Report's forums. Who has put together the most racks? Who is matching up? What about HayBale? Did he show up with a haybale of money?

How about putting up video somewhere else besides Google Video so those of us overseas can watch? Motiono - or - www.veoh.com (no length limits)

Come on guys give up some information here? Write something. Looking at a status list every couple hours is BORING. Y'all say you like the IPT model - well the IPT kept me glued to the computer pressing refresh on the update page for a week. How about some live scoring? I know it's a lot to ask for but you all ARE "The Action Report"!!! :-)

At the conclusion of today's play, Dennis (with $8900) has regained the position atop the leader board that he enjoyed yesterday afternoon before slipping back into the middle of the pack until the last hour of the night. Mike Banks slipped back to second although he gained another $200.

Townsend hung right in there at 3rd place and SVB & McMinn both slipped back a few positions to finish 4th & 5th, respectively.

Walden held steady (as he has done the entire tournament) while Corey, Harriman, & Melton all fell dramatically to the bottom of the board with Kiamco (who didn't advance up the board although he gained $2000 in the last hour!).

Parica is the latest victim of elimination, which leaves 10 of the original 19 alive.

John, there are guys back there with VERY deep pockets. I'm talking about people who like to play for a thou a game 9-Ball and ten or twenty thousand dollar sets. LOCALS who are very wealthy. Something will come down before this one is all done.

Oh I know, last time I was there some local guy who owns some 7-11s ended up stacking cash up all around the rail and taking action from everyone on some backwards country house rules 8-ball. Meanwhile the PLAYERS wouldn't match up for ten cents against each other if they had to take the two nickels out of their pocket.

That's why I am so disappointed in the coverage. However I know how hard it is to try and keep up with what is going on AND get it posted on the net at teh same time. I gained a LOT of respect for what people who cover tournaments have to deal with when I covered the Women's Worlds in April.

Action reports are everywhere, not sure where you can't seem to find them. There are a ton of thread on both forums giving little updates, but the big spot to be tomorrow is the chat room. I have been giving up to the SECOND updates. If that isn't good enough, you should fly down tomorrow. :) Dennis put a 6-pack on em... I put that in the chat room... which you weren't in. No match ups tonight yet. I haven't seen either of the two high rollers today. The live stream is just fine on google... its free, enjoy it before its gone. That's our best option. There will more than likely be DVD so check for those later. All I do is update, tomorrow I might just watch the whole tournament and update a selecet few that appreciate the updates. We are doing live scoring in the chat room... again which you weren't in. and yes.... We Are The Action Report.

And no one in China can get google video. I know you probably could care less.

I saw nothing on the Action Report that said update would only be available in the chat - where ever that it.

You know Tanner I like you but you just lost me as a fan. I'll wait for the condensed version later on AZ.

Woh... settle down Tanner. Maybe you need a little sleep. You youngsters need your nap time. We do appreciate your efforts. Are you guys using chatroom on AZ? First I have heard of that.

Thanks for the updates

Tanner, you guys are doing fine. I am sure this is one of your first endeavors and you will improve with time. And don't forget you'll never please everybody. I am enjoying the new website. I have paid nothing and and just check back every couple of hours for updates. I don't know how much Mr. Barton is paying, but I am sure it ain't much.

Thanks for keeping me informed,
Jim Kissinger

You know when I first saw this I was pissed. We have been here since Wednesday morning (Which by the way is the first time I ever layed eyes on or touched our new video equipment) working 12 to 16 hours a day FOR FREE to promote this event and pool in general. Add in all of the logistical problems of turning a pool room in Kansas into a broadcast studio(ever try to set up 3 computers, 2 cameras, electrical and data wiring, lighting, webpage design, and configuring wireless routers that are not yours in the middle of a big tournament?) and I am a bit on edge.

What makes it all worth it is the reaction we have gotten from the great majority of pool fans, players and supporters. It has been amazing. We thank everyone for their kind words and support. We know we won't do everything perfect. This is our trial run. We will get better.

I must admit it is the ornery side of me that wants to say the first thing that comes to my mind when I read a post like yours John. But I won't.

Sorry we didn't live up to your expectations.

Thanks

Tanner: Just so you know, I've been watching pretty intently and I can't even find the chat on TAR...so if that is where we should be going...please direct us on how to participate. I'd hate to think you guys are dumping resources into something most people don't even know about. Thanks again for your efforts!

EDIT: Nevermind all that...except for the thanks part. I missed the chat area when I launched the big video into a new window. My mistake! Now I wish I had figured that out a few hours ago.

You guys are doing a hell of a job Justin. I find all of your efforts to be incredible seeing how your all doing all of this out of your love of the game and nothing else. Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing you guys at more tournaments in the future. Hopefully I'll be seeing you guys in person at the next DCC. Maybe I could help you guys out if I make it down there.

Yeah I know how hard you are working - and I appreciate it. But you all have got to be able to take suggestions as well. You can tell me to **** off if you want to and that's fine.

I know you are working for free. I am also investing my time in you. I'd gladly PAY for a good feed, I'd gladly PAY for the kind of stories and updates the IPT had. In fact I DID pay for them.

But I was just razzing you anyway! I know you all are working hard - I have done about as many events with 24 hours days as anyone in the industry and I KNOW there is always MORE to do that you think there will be.

So I apologize if I came off a little harsh - it wasn't meant to be that way - I am just an action junkie who is NOT getting his fix.

To Tanner: I can't watch the feed at U-Stream - so even if I wanted to be in the chat there it isn't very convenient to try and watch the feed at the Action Report and keep up with the chat at another site. That's not your fault - it's on my end - but for what it's worth I didn't see ANYTHING about so much going in the chat in any of the threads I visited on both forums or I would HAVE tried harder to get in the chat.

Thank you to everyone who is doing SOMETHING to bring pool to the fans. I know that the next effort will be better and each one after will be better still. Once again - I WILL PAY and I am sure many others will to.

Um, should I not voice my opinion just because I didn't "pay" anything? I am paying in time spent at the site and with experience given.

Directly underneath the streaming window on the home page that says " Click here to see larger window and use the chat function" That is a link to our page on ustream.tv . The site we are using to stream the video. You are right in that we should of made it a little more noticable. Tanner was in chat most of the day doing live scores and updates when he wasn't running around getting chip counts.

The chat function really is the nuts. Just look underneath the stream window on the home page. I will put a more noticable link there.
Thanks for your kind words and for putting all the raw data we have running around like crazy to get into a coherent stream of updates. We do need to get better at that part for sure.

I will see if I can find out whats wrong with your forum info.

Lost Case

Just Got In From Shooters, great Tournament And Coverage.
I'd Like The Pool World To Know I Had An Autograph Case With A 100 Names On It Stolen. Please Be On The Look Out.

Hey, shut up! I like these guys working for hot dogs & beer (soda for Tanner). :)

I am kinda curious what the ultimate goal of TAR is. Is it to become a well-oiled machine that pulls into a tournament and rolls out video & text avenues so people across the world can keep up-to-the-minute of the action (both formal and informal) going on? I'd love to see it happen although I recognize it's a huge undertaking...as you are now figuring out.

You could stream: matches on all tables, player interviews, gambling sessions,..., etc. Those same feeds could be available on demand...all this starts my head buzzing with possibilities.

Sorry to hear that! I know a case with that many autographs is not a common thing, but want kind of case was it and what did it look like (color, print/hides, butt/shaft configuration...)?
