Old but new here

New to forum. Looking forward to picking up some tips as I try to sharpen my game after a 12 year absence.
Played a lot through most of my life. Even had several tables over the years. But for the last 22 years I've been restricted to an occasional game in bars.
Just bought a house with enough room for a table, which was my first purchase.
I find I'm really rusty but having fun climbing that hill.
Parts of my game came back right away while other parts are being a struggle.

Good to have you on board, NevadaP. If the first thing you bought for your new home was a pool table, you're going to fit in well around here.

Thanks, and yes, the obsession is even worse than you may suspect. The house had a 'game room' which would have been suitable (just barely) for a 7 foot table. My wife actually pointed out that one wall was a bathroom. Since there were two bathrooms back to back, we could tear one out and have the plumbing already in place for a bar! Great woman! So we tore out the bathroom wall immediately and I ordered an 8 foot table. Table was installed weeks before I could find a contractor to complete the conversion. I didn't care that I was playing pool in a room with an exposed toilet and shower, at least I was playing pool in my own home again after all these years!

Now the bar is almost complete, and I have a man cave I'm really pleased with! I'll post some photos when I can figure out how to do so.

Nice Nevada, it looks like you have the fun part covered, great set up!
Enjoy

Nice room.

Check YouTube for drills, etc. to help get you in stroke. Although there are only a few I do like the Corey Deuel videos and you can't forget guys like DrDaveBilliards, Sharivari, Tor Lowry, Max Eberle, CJ Wiley, etc. They all have videos on YouTube...👍

Thanks for the tips. I found Dr Dave and have seen several of his videos. I'll check the others you suggest.

The most difficult thing for me after a lot of years off was seed control, you have no game until you get that dialed in , wish I had known that a couple years sooner than I did .

Still awaiting backordered refrigerator for the bar, but the pool playing is full speed ahead!
Nice room NevadaP! The snowman with the top hat gets the last 3 from me! LOL
