Old Helmstetters?

not sure if this is a helmstetter!?
has the RH6 model no., but no sig.
first cue i purchased, when i was 16 years old . . .
think i paid between 100-200 bucks.
in BAD need of a refin!
lemme know if the colors look odd . . .
new computer may not be calibrated correctly.

Here is one that I picked up many years ago, it is a special edition cue of which only 25 were ever made. These cue were given to friends of Richard Helmstetter, at a party at his home in the 1970's according to the gentleman I purchased it from. To this day I have not been able to find any additional information or a catalog with this cue in it.

Jeff....I think I'm in love!! That cue is AWESOME! I am not usually one for wrapped cues, but this one is just about perfect. :thumbup:
Oh course, you being the the cue photographer that you are, doesn't hurt either...LoL.
Looks like rosewood (Brazilian?), tulip and maple to me.

I love the cue, and it is one of the first I have seen that appears to be made Richard before he was with National or Adam. Don't know for certain if it is a Helmstetter, but if it is one it is rare. Not much of Richards work survived from the 1960's and all of his original cues are very collectible, in fact this is the first one I have ever seen.

Icon2....... looking at your cue literally shocked me. What a beautiful and UNIQUE look! Finally something that I know that I have never EVER seen before. Seriously. I am out of words.
The same goes for Craig's cue, although I have seen some of Richard's cues here (with one of them being Lisa's merely and simply elegant full splice) this is the very day on which I have added to my list of very favourites.

Very Nice Jayman, I always liked the model pictured which is a Helmstetter 86-14. In fact for the most part I love the entire 86 series of Helmstetter cues.
It is hard to believe that the cue you posted only cost $650 retail and $325 wholesale in 1996, with extra shafts costing $100 retail and $50 wholesale. For all the work involved and as nice as these cues played, it seems very cheap by todays standards, man I wish they still offered those for that price now!!!!

I wonder if instead of RH6 if it is RCH in gold. R C Helmstetter. very very cool in any case.
nice to know some peoples vision is as poor as mine!

remember i do have the cue so i do have an advantage . . .
