old house cues

I have about 7 or 8 very old house cues. I think they came with my anniversary snooker table. They are mostly on the light side 12-15 oz. Assume these have nominal value - correct. I was thinking about having these re-tipped by a guy I know to play with. Any reason not to? I don't want to ruin something that should be left alone.

If they are full length, I would be very surprised if they were that light. I doubt that anyone would want to play with them. Have you weighed them?

I have not weighed them. That is the number that is stamped on them. Will post pics once I am free,

Do they feel lighter than any cue you have ever held? If you have a kitchen scale, the weights would help, too.

I would put on scale. Post photos. Then people will chime in on value.

Here are some pics. As you can see pretty rough shape...I also included a copy of some old mismatched balls that came with the table.

Probably 55" cues with small tips. The European taper, no weight bolts , I am not surprised by those weights.

the first one on the left is birds eye maple and would make a nice sneaky conversion. the maker can make the weight what you want.
no real value in any of them for collectors. but old wood that is sound makes a good conversion.

Some may be Snooker cues. Snooker cues can often be 14 to 16 ounces and sometimes lighter. Most are 59"-61"long. Its a possibility with the amount of Snooker balls in that picture. The Butterfly cue looks like it could be Tulipwood?

I think everyone missed that you got these snooker cues with the “snooker table” you got.

Have him put tips on and bumpers on them. You can see a slip on ferrule on one of them.

Nothing valuable but still nice to have with your snooker table.
