My partner in crime #1: 64 year old John Hacsi.

Last night John split for 1st place in the ABCD division. John is a former 200 plus ball runner, a man who literally hung up his cue for 30 years. Obviously, John has overcome many obstacles since his his amputation. I have been training with John for almost 10 years now, and I just cant say enough good things about him.....on and off the table. About 5 years ago, this man was on his death bed, and could not run 3 balls. Today, he is still a 100 plus ball threat. I am so proud of him, I just had to give the guy a plug. He really deserves it. You have come a long way, Johnny my man! John is living proof that you dont need a tight grip.

I managed 13th place, added in $100 to Johns $875(BCA instructor, Dave Manasseri). So we walked out with almost $500 each.

(The record will show John came in 2nd, but they agreed to split the money before the match. In my book, he split for 1st.)

Great story.

I know several people who play very well with severe handicaps and it's nice to hear these stories.

Sounds like he is very successful and a good mentor.

Awesome, I also have a few folks I hold in high regard, who make playing a pool at a high level seem to be a 'cool' thing to do. They always make you want to play better, to work harder, practice more, and become a student of the game.

Thanks for sharing.

He is also a great brother, for the record his last name is Hacsi, not Hasci just had to correct the record.

I think it is a credit to our (game, hobby, sport) that wheelchair, handicapped, tall, short, men, women, old, young, you name it, can play and be proficient.

Its a great sport for all.

Thanks to all for the kind words, John will appreciate the support!

John played a great game this weekend. Very happy for him and he's got some good bragging stories to tell his little granddaughter! Nice guy too! I'm very happy for him!

OMG Gail! I saw double G, and I thought you were a rapper! LMAO!

It's nice to see a person and the game he obviously loves to play appreciated so much. These are the stories the game needs to hear more.

We have a guy with only 1 arm who plays in one of our local leagues. If anyone who plays him thinks it is a handicap, then they better practice up on their racking, because he can play.

Congrats to John for fighting and refusing to lie on the couch and die.
