The Pen is Mightier than the Cue

Did I enjoy this read? Yes

Will I read this blog more often? Yes

Is it much easier to be humorous when you are tearing people down, than it is when you are building them up? Most certainly.

But did Mike deserve it? Probably

I think this summed it up.

The blog is pretty brutal but any press is good press, I guess. At least she's funny.

Playing on tar or on any big stage like that is tough. Its hard to control emotions when you're taking the heat and I rub people the wrong way. I guess I rubbed her the wrong way and I apologize.

Don't mean she didn't like:smile:

Sounds like a sincere reply to me. Well done.

I understand it is difficult to play under those conditions (having done so myself) -- that is why I wanted to support you in your match. As I have told many people, how you acted then, under duress, was only a moment in time and it should not be used to judge you as a whole. I say this because I am oftentimes the same way (and trust me, my behavior is also well-documented).

When I said you were a good player and I wanted to see you win, I meant it. I was hoping to see some incredible comeback a la Alex vs. Shane in 2008. You have the best break I have seen aside from Shane and Bustamante in a TAR match, so if anyone could have forged a return to victory, it would have been you.

All in all, it was a pleasure to watch you play and I look forward to hearing of your future successes. Thank you for being a good sport about my writing and you have a drink on the wire when I see you next.

So I randomly get a text with this link in it http://massiveunderstatement.com/?p=10423 I see the beginning so I know it's the blog of the lovely OMGWTF. She's dope, I liked her when I met her in Vegas so I read her shit when I can.

All I can say is this is pure comedy. Everyone should check this out especially if you're having a rough day and need a laugh.

This was great to read, thanks for the link.

I didn't read this whole thread but I didn't think mike acted all that bad considering. He nutted up and played a match he pretty much has no chance of winning, knowing it was going to be watched by some of the harshest critics in pool (not omgwtf but the whole AZ community), got his rear handed to him, and he took it pretty well. I'm sure everyone else acts like a total gentleman when they're losing a set 26-6. Or maybe everyone here just plays people they can beat, or maybe everyone that reads this is a world beater. I think he handled it better than was to be expected. No one likes losing, much less never being in the game for 8 hours straight.

You should stop doing that. ;-) LOL.

Just out of curiosity, have you started practicing your 10 ball break yet?

You just might be one of the best...... To Mike and OMGWTF, classy response's from you both. Mike, when I was younger and first started gambling in the bars, I rubbed nearly everyone the wrong way,,,, now, 35 years later, it's only about half,,,,lol.... Seriously, tho, it may change down the road a ways, when you get a little older.
