Of course Jay and maybe a couple of other people who have posted in this thread, actually have sufficient true knowledge and facts of many of the details. Other than that, most of us (myself included), do know enough about what transpired to have anything other than just another opinion, lacking in substance...

This matter is ultimately between Jay, the UPA and the unpaid players, along with Chuck and any affiliates (public or silent). Jay is already taking the matter to the proper authorities, whereby it'll be handled accordingly.

At this point, it appears meaningless to spew words on the topic, and fuel the gossip fire, unless you are actually in a position to do something and will act or are acting accordingly. It's often too easy to be self righteous from the sidelines or far far away in threads like these.

P.S. You know, it's been at $.02 for quite a long time. I think adjusting for inflation my opinion is at least $2.00 worth by now.

If Keith & Louie were really close friends, then Keith will know of the one true friend that Louie had for many years. He should only need one guess. That is how I met Louie, knew Louie, even talked to him 2 hours before he died. You can stretch it anyway that gives you comfort. Yes, Louie was bad with money - that is the first thing that I was warned about. Why - because others respected me. Post the article anytime (I wish I saved it) & let's take a vote to see if the story of selling the cue to multiple backers had any bearing on that 9 ball should be two shot roll out. Just a matter of a writer not looking before leaping. There was no ill will towards Keith. Hell, I even helped you by telling Dean DeForest that Keith wanted to talk to him. If I had such hatred for Keith as you seem to think, then why would I care to help him in any way?

I spoke with Jay earlier today and he is very busy dealing with this situation. It's good to see someone out there that believes in integrity and taking care of what needs to be taken care of - I admire his dedication to our game!

There should be many more like Jay, working 24/7 for pool and the players.

I hope he manage to put enough pressure on Chuck so there will be a solution that everyone can be happy with. I think the players will accept some $ each month, as long as they get them in the end.

Actually in other threads we have adjusted .02 to .04 for inflation.

unbelievable, thanks for taking the time to respond. I hope all of you guys get the money that is owed and the wrong doer/doers get what is coming to them. From the amount of money that was taken in from entry fees, admission fees, etc... It sounds like there is something more that was going on here. I hope Im wrong but if the shoe fits...

This is another important issue in pool, I've just read the thread from start to finish and YOU ruined it, nobody else just YOU JAM.

Been busy working all week so missed this, I saw Mika and a few other players comment on how pleased they were with there results on facebook. How gutted they must be to hear this news.

Most of us on here actually play pool and I'm sure can understand how much this must hurt, to play your heart out all week, finish high and get nothing for your efforts!

I don't know the man or the reasons but its all very sad...

From my lil investigation on this matter, I am told that Chuck guaranteed the original hotel WITH A SIGNED CONTRACT that a certain # of rooms would be booked & he also agreed to pay for the space to be used for the tournament. In other posts, Jay has advised that he has always been able to negotiate the free space into any event that he held himself. Why Chuck didn't follow this business practice & set himself up to fail by signing such a contract is why this all went down hill. This was the need to change venues away from the hotel to the pool room.
