On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Jesse played Joey Gray after Chip/

Heading down to White Diamonds to do another Perfect Aim seminar for the Tuesday night league players.

Last night Jesse Bowman played Chip Compton a race to 15 for $1000. Chip won. When I left they were playing one pocket. Not sure what they were playing for but I think it was $400 a game.

I'll find out tonight how it turned out. Had to leave myself. had a huge headache and my ears were ringing. Still got the headache today.

Banged my forehead with my loaded hotel cart when I checked out of the motel in Shreveport. Was pulling the cart down a step and when I did the force down created a big momentum for the top and it hit me square between my eyes and nose. Seen stars for about 5 minutes.

I got punched once when I had my nightclub breaking up a fight. I would rather have been punched than hit by this cart. Alot of power. Just a freak accident and I've had my share of them.

Never know what today will bring. Feel good enough today for some action. Got plenty of sleep.

After my seminar anything can happen. Been playing pretty good and need the practice.

Nomatter what it's going to be a fun night.

One man a van and the road.............

I didn't stay for it but I found out that Joey won 3 straight games of one pocket for $400. I heard Jesse bet $300 and they had $100 on the side.

I'm heading out of Lafayette tomorrow. I havn't made up my mind if I'm going to Oklahoma City, Jamaica Joes or head back down to New Orleans to finish what I started there before the hurricane.

I had about 5 lessons set up there when the hurricane came through. I headed to Texas. i figured with my luck a hurricane is all I needed.

I'm checking out at 12:00 so I'll make the decision then.

One man a van and the road..........

Next Friday

Why not stop by Shooters in Olathe for the $4000 added 9 ball on the 16th of the month, one pocket starts on the 15rh... It could be on your way back of Oaky?

I need a solid horse to buy in the auction.

Welp I finally had a chance to meet Mr Geno this week for the first time... Great Guy with some helpful 'insights'. Can't wait for your New DVD release after the first of the year.

Gene, personally I'm just now (Wednesday) getting over the smoke form the Lafayette (white diamond) tourny from Sunday night. If you can't remember our non-pool conversation, the important operative word was 'Endocrinologist' for a full panel workup. Pool ambassadors are hard to come by sir so help us non professional pool enthusiasts by taking care of yourself!! Proper D-nutrition, moderate aerobic exercise and good rest will pay huge dividends towards longevity...

Take care...

I still feel horrible. On top of that I just checked into a Value Place in Oklahoma City and when I turned on the heat it started to stink real bad. I took off the cover of the air conditioner/heater and tried to wipe it with a wet towel.

The smell was unhumanly intollerable. I drove all night and it's 7:30 AM and I had to move all my stuff gladly to another room.

This one might be bad too but i can't tell. The other one destroyed by smell sensors I think.

I'm still gagging.

The good news is I saved a days worth of room by driving all night. That's how we used to do it in the old days.

The bad news is i don't think it is a good idea for a diabetic to stay awake all night.

I will be seeing one of the endo guys in the near future. After I win this tourny here in Oklahoma City:grin::rolleyes:

The good news is I'm here............

Ready to build a Champion.........

I have a young man from Wisconsin. I told him a few months ago that I would give him a call when i am ready.

Ready to build a champion. Build a Champion with on the road training while on the road.

I said in one of my posts on here that I thought that many of the players that I teach could play at a professional level. The response by a few was kind of like sarcastic, like this would never work. That it was kind of a stretch?

I think I can take just about anyone that is willing to commit, listen and work hard. This will not be easy but nobody said it would be. But i think it will be fun.

I gave this young man a personal lesson about 3 years ago. His game took a big leap right away. I wasn't there to see his great progress so when I saw him about a year later I was pretty impressed.

I tell players on here that this is happening with many of the players that I teach everywhere I go. And that's all I can do is tell them. The rest is up to them to make the move to learn what I teach. Not everyone can get to that pro level because of their life, jobs and commitments. But they sure can step up where they are in a quick hurry by learning what I teach. Many on here that have learned Perfect Aim know exactly what I am talking about. it's the real deal.

Before I went on my trip I worked with this young man for about a week. His game took another jump to a level that I rarely see in young players anywhere. He was doing exactly what I taught him. from the preshot to the final stroke. The balls were flying in effortlessly. He had reached this special place that many of us have reached from time to time. If you've been there before you know especially what I mean.

I told him that I was going on the road teaching and playing and I would call him and I just made that call 2 days ago.

The timing was great. he's going to Texas with some friends to meet one of their friends that is coming back from Afganistan.

On the way back he's getting dropped of here at Oklahama City or Olathe if their trip to Texas takes longer than expected.

This will add a new twist to the thread. I figure in a few months he will be ready to play with the big boys. I know he will be ready.

It will be fun to report the progress and have him win a tournament here or there.

Played my first match........

I played a guy names Billy from Pennsylvania.

he played pretty good but he missed a few times.

I had my everything right so I played about as good as I could. 9-2.

Right now I'm back at the room resting.

I had a shaft made by Mitchell Thomas. Nobody probably heard of him. I put it on my cue. I never missed a ball or shape in my first match. If this keeps up everyone will know who Mitchell is.

I tried his cues about 5 months ago. He does something special to his shafts. their laminated. he's a cabinet maker/carpenter.

If this keeps up he's going to have to step up his one horse production.

I'll sell a bunch for him.....

Mitchell screwed me out of a lot of money. He is a crook! I did a lot of work for him and got nothing in return. He is very talented and there are many threads on here about him. I had several collectors and big names in the industry ready to look at his stuff and his pissed on the chance. Even had a guy willing to make him a very nice website, all Mitchell had to do is make him a PJ cue. Did that happen? Hell no. He is a terrible business man, you will see. I am not the first one he has screwed over and won't be the last.

His shafts are not special. They are spliced by hand and hollowed out like a predator. The latest generation does hit pretty good.

How much is allot?

I know that he knows nothing about the internet. He made me the shaft on trust alone that I would send him the money. He sent it 2 days ago and I got it this morning.

I had a problem with the laminated shaft that I was using. The ball would curve allot when I hit it soft with spin. It was a big problem. it made some shots almost impossible to execute. This was the 4th one I had so it's certain it's just the way they played.

The shaft I got from him is not doing that. He explained to me what he was doing different.

I can also hit extremely low on the ball. I would miscue from time to time with the old shaft. I used the other one for a year.

Sorry about your bad experience but I'm really happy about how this shaft plays.

I play good enough to really know the difference and know for a fact, whatever he is doing, works.

If someone could get these marketed he could sell a ton. NO. 2 tons.

That's allot of shafts......

Thanks for the update. I'll keep an eye open.

I agree he is super talented. You should see some of the cabinets and houses he built. Did them by hand and they are PHENOMENAL! There is no CNC machine in his shop. I tried like hell to sell those shafts here with a money back guarantee. I know they play good. He knows about this site and what it could do for him. He got on here and blatantly lied about whether or not I was working for him. After I took 15-20 orders and posted pictures of his shop, the woods he had laying around, etc. He really made a fool of himself. He is also famous for missing completion dates but i guess most cue makers are

I'm glad you like the shaft, I sold several to friends and most of them like it too. His Purple Heart break shaft is fantastic too and cheap!!!! I can't knock his skills, he can do thing most cue makers can't. He is just a liar, thief, and all around bad business man.

Good tourny. I just ran out of gas........

Got done on the winners side at 1:30AM. Had to be back to play at 9:00AM.

It doesn't take a math major to figure out that doesn't leave very much time to sleep.

By the time I got to sleep at 2:30AM and wakeup at 8:00AM to get there by nine I was a pretty pooped puppy.

After my first match I slept in the car for about 1/2 hour. Then I took another nap after my next match.

I was playing Shane M ahead 5-3 when the old body and mind started to let me down.

Was playing pretty good. just need to figure out how to keep playing.

I guess it is what it is.

I raced stock car when I was young. I bought the car and the radiator was too small. The car would overheat towards the last 2 or 3 laps. Once that happened I would just have to try and block out cars from passing me.

In pool tournys you can't block. In fact if you miss a shot or miss shape it doesn't take long for your opponent to put you away.

I feel like that old stock car. Being diabetic and being 60 might have something to do with it also, I feel like my radiator is too small.

Don't worry though. i will get all charged up tonight and be ready to do some great lessons.

The show must go on.

Zack is coming tomorrow. My champion in training.

It will be fun to see how this plays out.

The good news is I'm playing better than ever. I just need to figure out how to keep the energy level up.

Where there is a will there is a way.

I think they call it heart.

I think it might take allot of heart to stay on the road solid for 6 or 7 months.

I'm going to find out also if this can be taught.

Gene,
If anyone can teach it, you can. (I KNOW you can, because I've seen it!)

I liked the story about your new shaft. Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Found out why the new shaft plays so well....

Thanks,

It has a little more deflection that the predator 314 does. It didn't curve the ball when I hit the ball soft with english.

By taking almost all the deflection out of the shaft it makes it worse the other way with the curve. That's why allot of players stay with the old maple shafts.

I need to get another one ordered right away.

This guy has a good thing here. Just enough to make it shoot straight but not too much that it makes the ball curve.

Kind of the middle.

Getting close to winning.........

I held up pretty good in the tournament this weekend at Jamaica Joes.

I was playing Shane McMinnen and was ahead 5-3. Played a great safe on him. he kicked 2 rails got a hit and got hooked again. Kicked again and made a ball again. Got hooked again. Kicked 2 rails at the 4 and just barely hit it and it banks into the side.

That was a big turning point in the match. 5-4 instead of 6-3.

The I played tony in the losers. It's 8-7 and I have an open table to run out but the first shot I need to draw the cue ball back and cheat the pocket.
I cheated too much. I should not have jacked up on that shot.

Now I've been getting close and the main thing is I will remember being there and the thoughts that were going through my head at the time.

The only time you can practice shooting and thinking in a situation like this
is when your there. This is the chance to keep your thoughts together and make some really good decisions.

I also need to keep closer tabs on my blood sugar. I tested it right after my match and it was 72. I really should have eaten something. But that's part of being diabetic. When it gets low it's hard to remember things. Even to eat.

Once out in the car I was trying to figure out what city I was in. I could not remember.

I ate something and felt better but I was still real wobbly. Once it gets low like that it takes a toll on body. it's like being too, too wore out.

it just takes a little time to recover.

Anyway. 5th place paid some money. Every penny helps when your on the road.

I got action.......

Ken called me and we're going to play. I don't know what we're going to play for but it's going to be fun.

We played in the tournament and he's a real gentleman.

Changed a lesson for tomorrow.

If someone wants to contact me for a lesson I'll call back when I'm done.

Hard telling how long this will last.

One man a van and the road.......

Had a great day........

Ken and I played about 4 sets. I came out 2 sets ahead. It could have just as well came out even. I won 2 sets hill hill.

Ken plays good and is one of those players that with the right situation could play with anyone in the world. Has all the tools, just needs to tune up the fine tuning on his game.

I don't think either one of us was happy with our game tonight though. Ken worked all day and I was in bed trying to get rested from the weekend yet. I almost didn't play.

But I need to play more to compete in the tournys.

Zack played all day and ended up $30 loser. Played a guy that was pretty good. They played 1 pocket and the guy quit Zack one game winner. Must have a girlfriend or wife.

Maybe they will play tomorrow but it's a tough game because Zack hasn't played much. We'll fix that but it will take a week or 2.

They have a tournament tomorrow night at Jamaica Joes. We might both play in that.

Overall it was a good day. We even went to the fitness center and worked out for about an hour.

Two men a van and the road.

Gene, I really enjoyed playing last night! I didn't enjoy the losing so much but like I said on the way over...you can't play without losing..it happens. ;)

I learned a lot last night. I hope to be able to keep at it and improve. I want to the show the world that a 48 year old can improve with time and hard work. I think our sets went something like 9-6, 9-8, 4-9, and 9-8. And yes I think we both could have cleaned up our games a bit last night, but I definitely had more unforced errors. But like I told Jacob...it's what I do...for now.

FYI - The usual cast of characters will be there tonight. There should be plenty of opportunity for action for both you and Zack.

Ken

Today is one of those rare days..........

Picked up some kind of cold or virus. The nose runs non stop and sleeping is almost impossible.

This is one of those rare occasions where you need to suck it up and really take it one shot at a time. It's really easy to not try hard enough on this shot or that one.

I'm hoping if I can get through today it will let up tomorrow.

This has been going on for a few days. I didn't know if it was just from mega smoke or sick. It's sick for sure.......

Play at 2:00. Just need to do the best I can do and force the effort on each and everyshot.
