On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Didn't feel up to it.......

Feeling better but didn't feel like I wanted to pack up and head to Louisville.

I have plenty to do here in Indy with the leagues here. Doing a free seminar at one of the top pool bars tonight.

That usually results in 3 or 4 lessons.

Got my room for another week here also.

So anyone at the Derby that wants to learn Perfect Aim can come on over.

715-563-8712 Just give me a call.

Thanks everyone Gene........

I took the day off and decided to go to the Brickyard to hit some balls. I went to the Anytime Fitness and worked out for about an hour and then I went to Korgers and got some groceries.

When I got back to my room there was no cue case in the car. I'm sure I remember throwing it in the back of the van. And I remember having my case when I went up to pay my time at the counter. And I remember it falling down to my elbow as i was opening the door to leave the poolhall.

So chances are it got stolen.

My GPS never got touched so whoever it was knew just what they wanted.

Too bad.

Wow, that sukkks !!

Sounds like there was at least 1 eye-ball on your cue.
Best for a speedy recovery !

What is next, Gene? If it is not one thing it is another. First your health problems, now they steal your cue and case. I would be sad too. All the good things you do for pool players and people, and this happens. Just when you were getting your health back in order. I really wish the best for you Gene. I hope you find your cue and case! And that your health problems get better. Keep on with the keep on!
Many Regards,

Now's the time for a sponsor to step in and provide Gene Albecht with some cues. What a great opportunity for some cuemaker.

Gene, a lot of cuemakers don't frequent this forum. If I were you I would single out a couple of them and ask if they would be willing to provide you with equipment. You are one of the STARS of the ROAD and can beat any human being alive. You handle yourself extremely well, in person and online. I don't think I've heard you use or seen you use a foul word in all the time I have known you. You would make a cue sponsor proud.

Ask a couple of cuemakers if they are interested in supplying you with equipment and reference your lengthy threads as testament to the potential of the advertisement.

This may just be another door opening for you.

Thanks for your support and suggestion....

Gettting your cues stolen is kind of like losing part of your life.

I have never had this happen. When your on the road with all the expenses there are, this is one thing you just don't need to happen.

As i was leaving the poolhall i was talking real loud about which Anytime Fitness was closest to my room with a real nice guy that i met about 7 days ago. I'm not saying he had anything to do with it at all, in fact I'm positive he didn't but there were about 7 of us that were right there waiting to go out the door.

I'm not saying anyone there had anything to do with it either. Crawfordville Rd I heard if right on the edge of the shady part of town.

When i was on the road years back I never told anyone even where i was staying. Most of the motels I stayed at were small, cheap and the door opened right up to the street. I would put bells on the doors and windows and have the 357 sitting on the night stand next to my head. Then i could sleep. I would usually push the dresser in front of the door and move the bed around so the door was wedged and couldn't open without moving the bed and everything.

The first bullet in my gun had no lead in it. Kind of like a blank. I had this in there for a warning shot so I wouldn't put any hole in some place if I just shot to scare someone away.

I only had to shoot once in all the time i was on the road which was allot back when i was younger. The person trying to get in disappeared real fast. In fact I could hear them running away I thought even though my ears were still ringing from the noise from my big cannon.

Another time a guy at a town i was at heard that someone was planning to rob me so i took the friend of the guy that was planning to do this with me one night to a poolhall and I pulled out my 357 to show him.

His eyes got as big as saucers as he blurted out with a smile, And Sonny thinks he has a gun. Now that's a gun. Sonny was the guy planning to rob me. Needless to say i had no trouble but I was also extra careful.

Most of the time when you get robbed they say your better off just giving up the money. I think they're right.

I got a problem though. I get so pissed when I get confronted like that. Twice in my life i had people approach me with a knife. Once was a domestic dispute and once was to rob me. Both times i was so pissed I just attacked the person and things worked out OK. It might not work out so well with a gun though but I might react the same. I got a problem that way.

I also got in trouble about 5 times in my life when I see someone hit a woman. I lose it the same way. It's almost like I go blind and just want to stop the person at any cost disregarding my personal safety. .

My first purchase today will be a gun. I don't know how long it will take with the background checks and stuff but a gun on the road is a must.

I don't ever want to shoot anyone. just want a little security.

Next thing you know someone will steal the gun.

I wonder if being a teacher/player I could get a license to carry it, but I think that varies from state to state. I doubt it.

Anyway. Got to find something today that I can make a ball with and find something to break with.

They get a tourny at the Brickyard tomorrow. $40 entry and probably a nice calcutta.

Good Luck with that. New equipment and all of no equipment.

Got to get rolling and see what I can figure out.

One man a van and the road.

They got to get rid of that smoke first..........

geno you should come to florida!

Those poolhalls down there all allow smoking.

I can't be in the smoke.

I just chewed out a guy at the motel I'm at. i told him, did you know by law you have to be so many feet from the entrance if your smoking. He said he didn't know.

I wonder if allot of smokers don't know about that.

I get sick just getting a big direct breath from someones exhale smoke.

When Florida gets it right, I will go to Florida. So many great poolhalls down there doing so many good things for pool also.

I've been trying to recover for the last 4 months from breathing in that crap for 7 months in the southern states.

Wish I could though.

Found some cues and a case that will work for me....

Because i found mine.

I could have sworn that I took my case with me when i left the Brickyard Billiards.

I need to tell the guys last night and this morning a big thanks.

It is a great big wake up call for me though. Need to really keep an eye on the equipment.

Each and every player out there has their equipment playing just the way they want. just the thought of replacing the stuff is mind boggling.

My heart goes out to everyone and anyone that has ever gotten their stuff stolen. What a tragedy.

Back to business.:)

Had the strangest thing happen today.

Today there was supposed to be a tourny at Brickyard. I called down and they only had 12 players signed up. They said it might not happen.

I guess they had more show up and probably could have had about 20 but they didn't collect the money from the others so a bunch I guess decided not to play so they were down to not enough again.

A young man walked up to me, he has to be 6' 4" tall and wants to play some $50 sets. I said sure. I don't feel very good and was thinking of not even coming down to the poolhall myself but I have a chance to play some.

I play pretty bad the first set and the young man played pretty good. He even ran a couple of racks once. So he could play. He won the first set 9-4.

We started the second set. He won the flip and broke and scratched. I ran out the rack and broke and ran 2 more and he handed me back the $50 and said I quit, my leg hurt. or something.

I told him that's too bad because I was just starting to get warmed up and I was. I wasn't trying to be smart about it.

He replied, I could see that.

I never had this happen in all the years I have played pool. Maybe he was just trying to get a line on me but I don't think so.

I guess I'll never know what was up with that?

Recovered

Well itsa relief to know you got your cues & equipment back in good shape. It sukkks to get that sinking feeling of loss !

Have safe travel.

Gave a special lesson tonight......

His name is Danne Sheets and he's one hell of a drummer. He quit playing pool about 15 years ago. He just decided to start playing pool again about a week ago.
He was looking to buy a cue because he thought the one he had wasn't playing right. It was a Muecci with a laminated shaft.
After I showed him how to use it he really liked the laminated part for sure.

Then we talked about a Perfect Aim lesson. I had shot a little bit with Danne and he was really struggling. He was frustrated that he used to play pretty good and now he couldn't even hardly make a ball especially on the 9 footer.

I told him i would fix the problem. He said let's do it.

We did the lesson tonight and I wish we would have had a before and after video. The results were just crazy. Danne went from 0 to 90 in about 2 hours. it was really fun watching him make some of the shots that were impossible about 2 hours before.

We reworked his stroke a little and showed him how to get to the most natural stance for his body and the rest was history.

he wants to compete in some tournaments and I don't think it will take too long to get to a higher level. He's pretty determined.

After what he has learned we for sure have another readdicted pool player in this pool world of ours forever. He's buying a table as soon as possible and i can tell you this will be one that will be used.

This is what it's all about. Helping players play this wonderful game of ours just a little bit better and sometimes a whole lot better.

I'm here for another 5 days in Indy. More lessons and more fun.

I only have one scheduled each day for the next three days and I can do more.

Just give me a call. 715-563-8712

Gene,
I know people think that I believe you are over the moon, have a man crush on you etc but the truth is I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF DOING, WHAT YOU HAVE DONE, & WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR OTHERS.

Perfect Aim, while it is a critical part of your method for seeing the shot correctly, you have the entire package and can not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.

This is just a message to all of you out there who have never met Gene or taken his complete Perfect Aim Lesson: Do it before your chance disappears.

I have noticed that since Gene has been traveling around the country, other top players who can not only play well but teach well, have also started traveling and giving pool instruction.

I think another thing that Gene could offer is coaching at events. It might be slightly more expensive than a Perfect Aim lesson, but I was thinking how cool it would be to have Jiminy Cricket whispering the secrets of pool to you in between matches. :) "When your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme."

The food is the medicine................

Thomas Edison once said I think, maybe it was someone else, that someday the food would be the medicine.

My lungs have seemed to have cleared up.
I put myself on a regiment of Broccoli green peppers red peppers blueberries strawberries and califlower for 2 weeks.
This stuff did what medicine couldn't do for 4 months.
I think the old boy was right that someday the food would be the medicine. This kind of makes it look that way.
Of maybe it's what I didn't eat?

Feel tired but I know I'm on the mend for sure now. Now excercise and rest can finish the job.

I'll be coming over to Cincy for sure. Any lessons I can't get done here in Indy just won't get done. Got to keep moving.

My plan is to keep going and get to Texas or meet up with Big truck Ray hansen and complete the new video.

When this comes out there will be no more questions about aiming. this is it. the way the eyes naturally work. And everyone will be able to understand it clearly from the video.

It will be priceless information for anyone that wants to improve at an affordable price for sure.

Of course I'm going to still do what i love to do. Travel and teach it to everyone I can in person.

Pros, amatuers, intermediates it works and helps everyone tremendously.

I've kept blowing my horn about Perfect Aim for 4 years now and have never let up one bit. Everyone should just learn it and then i could be quiet for a while, at least for a minute anyway:rolleyes::thumbup2:

So after Cincy I'm going to be on a mission.

Feeling better I can start doing 3 lessons a day when need be. So save up your buttons everyone when i get to your town.

I'm going to the store right now to get some more broccoli, peppers and berries.

The Perfect Aim train is rolling again. Making more noise than ever before.

See everyone soon.

Here we go again.............

Well, I got the room until this Thursday coming up. I'm feeling pretty good and just got some antibiotics to finish whatever I got off.

There is a tourny at John Waynes this Sat. Looks like I will stay for this and then off to Cincy.

I finally started to play a little bit and it feels pretty good.

Gave Dr Don Wardel a lesson today. Was that fun. This guy really has a passion for the game. He also seems to me like one of the smartest MD's I have ever met. Knows his stuff about health for sure.

After my consultation with him I have decided to make a push to lose 30 pounds. After talking to him I think this is the only way to positively get this diabetes thing under control.

I'm at 200 now. The first 15 should be easy. Doing this on the road might be a little tough. Get kind of lazy sometimes when your hungry.

Either this or there might not be any Perfect Aim going anywhere.

Cincy looks like Monday for now.

Had some action and fun at John Waynes tonight...

I headed over to John Waynes and who did I meet there but Brian Groce.

We had a few battles over the years. The most notable was the Gomez Open in Olatha Kansas. I think it was in 1998 or 99.

They had a $500 entry fee, winner take all, 9 ball, race to 15, single elim.

There was 16 players in it with about 8 pros that rolled in the second day.

it started at Midnite and lasted until noon the next morning.

When all the smoke cleared it was Brian Groce and myself in the final.

I was ahead 14 to 9 thinking that i had things under control.

Brian ran 5 racks to tie it up 14 to 14. He broke dry and I ran out.

It was winner take all and Brian reminded me that we did a saver.

$5000 and $3000. That was a nice payout for sure for both of us. We both beat allot of good players that night.

They also had a little calcutta. I went for the minimum of $200.

A couple of guys went for over $1000 if I remember right.

The calcutta was sweet too.

Once 2 players battle it out in a contest like this you kind of gain allot of respect for your opponent. This was no exception.

Tonight was really a treat. We played a couple of sets. Played for just enough that it hurt a little if we lost.

Brian blew me away the first set. He ran out from everywhere. It was kind of intimidating to say the least. but that is the kind of player that Brian is. intimidating.

I flipped the coin for the second set and got ahead 5 to 3 only to screw up 2 outs in a row.

Got my bearings back and won the second set 9 to 5.

Can't even express the fun this was. I've been playing about 3 hours a day trying to get back to playing again and it has paid off.

I know Brian enjoyed the good competition also.

I showed him a little Perfect Aim also. He's right eye dominant and just like all right eye dominant players he had trouble with the shots to the left.
I showed him how to fix it. It wasn't the whole Perfect Aim lesson but it was enough to make Brian tougher to beat.

Maybe I should have waited to show him until I was about to leave.

Oh well.

One man a van and the road.

You give away too much information as it is. You always do. :yikes:

Brian is a contributor to pool for sure........

You give away too much information as it is. You always do. :yikes:

When i walked in the door at John Waynes I heard something going on in the back. There was Brian creating a little fun for all the players.

He was running a 3 ball contest where the big pot is over $2000. Players were lining up and taking their shot at it. It was a pretty good show with a great big megaphone.......

There was the big pot and then there was the smaller nightly pot that the top performer would win.

Brian is the house pro and is doing his job, one which he really enjoys doing.

He was talking to me about his job and how much he enjoys it and they actually pay him, Jokingly.

I told him I know the feeling.

As I travel around the country ZI see this over and over. Top players like Brian making things more fun for everyone.

That's what this game is all about, having fun.

My hats off to Brian and john Waynes in Indianapolis. If your coming through you need to stop there and just enjoy the pool atmosphere.

Played Bobby Dickerson.Sr tonight........

Got to hit some with an old friend again tonight.

I wasn't quite ready to match up and i don't think he was ready either. We just both happened to be there and it happened.

Played four sets actually. I won the first 2. The third one we went hill hill so we rolled it and doubled the bet.

I lost. Ran out of gas and Bob just got playing better.

How much were we playing for? just enough to make it hurt if you lost.

We broke even. Nothing too exciting but allot of fun.

In the morning I have to make a decision. To stay in Indy or head to Cincy.

I'm leaning towards Cincy because i have a few lessons over there that I have been promising to get to.
