On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Great lesson yesterday............

A young lady that plays at the Pool School in Peoria here finally asked me about a lesson.

It was fun to work with her because she is trying so hard to play good pool with not much success.

It was hard to determine if she was right eye dominant or left. Finally I got it.

She was absolutely left eye dominant.

We worked for about an hour.

She went to the bar next door to play her league games and won handily, She had to show me the shot she made to win one of the games.

it was a cut to the right and she told me she probably would have missed it as usual except that she got in the right position.

She came back over to learn more. Her borfriend was waiting for her at the bar. He didn't come over so I made it real quick with a couple more bits of info.

Don't want to ruffle any feathers here.

Great lesson as usual with super results.

It don't get any better than that.

Looking for a town on the way to Tunica.......

I'm pretty sure I can't play. My neck spams up and then my whole back.

I need to find a doctor but with traveling it's going to be tough. I'm going to see if there is a walk in clinic here in Peoria tomorrow.

I found the person that hit me but the officer that got my case put down not enough evidence in the report.

I saw the guy and the girl that hit me. I would think that is enough evidence.

You think they would want to find the bad guy and help the victim but that doesn't seem to be the case here in Peoria.

I'm going to go toward Tunica. The worst that can happen is I can do Perfect Aim lessons.

Is there a hoppin poolhall in Springfield.

That might be the place I might go tomorrow.

Have to do some calling and see whos got what going on......

You're talking about going to Springfield, IL correct?
that's a population of about 120,000 people.

I wonder if the population numbers say anything about the percentage of people who play pool. Do people in a town of 120,000 people play more pool than in a town of say 240,000 people. I'm not talking about the numbers as much as I am the percentages of people who play pool.

Springfield is calling my name..............

Looks like Springfield is it.

I made some new friends in Peoria and rekindled some old ones.

I was pleasantly surprised when Jat and Fred made me a member of their pool school.

As usual it was a joy to share Perfect Aim to Fred and open up a whole new world for his teaching.

Springfield is on the was to Tunica. If i feel good enough to play I will. otherwise I will just go there to watch and help some players improve their game tremendously in just a couple of hours.

The nice thing is you can teach with pain. Playing at a higher level is pretty hard with the neck pain. It will just take a little while to repair itself.

So it's off to Springfield and a whole new pool world to discover.

This is the fun part. Meeting all the players on their home field and see everything that is going on.

My goal in each and every place that I stop is to leave it just a little better off than it was before.

And that all starts with the players.

See ya in Springfield everyone.

Are you coming to Bloomington tonight? It was good to meet you last week and thanks for the lesson! Maybe I will see you in Tunica.

It was fun showing off Perfect Aim a little.....

Mark

I need to get moving and get the show back on the road.

Thanks for asking. I can't play in the tourny because i won it 2 weeks in a row. Oh well.

That's a good rule.

It was nice meeting you Mark and hope your game took a jump by getting things lined up for you.

Keep up the good work you do in this pool world of ours.

Another motel horror story..............

It's about 10:00 Monday as I stroll into Springfield, Mo. As usual I barter and bargain with a few places to get the best weekly rate i can.

The Super 8 seems like it will be my home for 7 days. Nice woman at the front desk gave me a room for $245.00 plus tax. Not the best deal but the best one right now because there is some big thing going on here that is filling up all the motel rooms.

I got a room with a king bed but I will have to move tomorrow to a room with a normal bed. She told me I wouldn't have to move until 3:00PM on Tuesday.

This will mean I will have to move a ton of stuff. It usually takes me 45 minutes to an hour to set up my room.

I got on the computer doing work I need to do and finally got to sleep about 6:00 AM. That will be OK I'm thinking because I don't have to move until 3:00PM.

At 10:30 AM I have this woman knocking at my door telling me that the night woman gave me the room too cheap and I have to pay $350.00 for the week. At this point I'm pretty pissed. I've only gotten 4 1/2 hours of sleep and now I have this to deal with.

I got up and loaded all my things again and called the police. I knew they couldn't do anything but I just wanted to give this lady a little shove back. As the officers are standing there telling me that it is a civil matter and we have to go to court, this woman is in another arguement with someone else that has booked a room and now they are all sold out.

This is the reason she told me i needed to pay more money, because these motels overbook to make sure they're full. But when they turn someone away they need to pay for their room somewhere else. In this case I don't know if there is someplace else to go to.

I left the room and went to the Travel Lodge where I had checked the night before but they were full.. As I was walking through the office door the lady was on the phone with a cancelled room request.

She remembered me from the night before and before I could say anything she said that someone just cancelled. I have a room for you.

It was a second floor room with no elevator. Had to park the van and walk about 50 feet to the steps, then climb about 20 steps and then another 50 feet to the room.

I tried to talk myself into the fact that this will be good excercise but my knees today say otherwise.

Now if I was on the road just playing pool I wouldn't be able to play that day because of the no sleep factor. In fact I maybe shouldn't even play the next day until I'm totally caught up on my sleep.

The good news for me is the Travel Lodge is right inbetween the 2 pool halls here in Springfield. I'll save about a tank of gas by not having to travel to the NOT so Super 8.

Anyway, today I'm here in Springfield. I will make some new friends and change the way many of the players here play the game.

Can't wait to get started. And I'm a little closer to Tunica, In case I feel like I'm ready to play.

2 great poolhalls in Springfield, Illinois............

Had a great time in Springfield today.

It was kind of tough to start off though. I've been really dizzy. .But I still went to the pool halls to get things going.

Got to work with 2 players at Starship Billiards. Just the mini lesson but they really liked what they saw.

Then i went to Mowies Billiards but there was not much going on. they were all watching the hockey game.

Went back to Starship and played some 9 ball and then some cribbage pool. It is actually a pretty good game. It would be a great tourny playing like this. Allot of strategy also.

Played pretty good today. not ready to throw the towel in yet.

There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Just can't wait to get over being dizzy all the time. Oh Well.

One man a van and the road.............

I went to see an attorney.

I found the X Jeep Unlimited Friday night.

The traffic Sargent in Peoria just put an officer on the case. They will be calling me tomorrow to fill them in on all the specifics.

The good news is i have plenty of medical coverage.

I have uninsured motorist coverage. So I'm fine.

It's just the principle of the whole thing.

When I found this woman she was getting in her Jeep to drive and was obviously drunk. Slurring her words pretty bad.

If I don't try to take care of this who knows who would be they're next victim.

They might even kill someone.
Geno, can we have an update on the Peoria saga with the woman and the jeep? What did the attorney have to say about this? Are the police going to pursue charges?

They closed the case...........

Geno, can we have an update on the Peoria saga with the woman and the jeep? What did the attorney have to say about this? Are the police going to pursue charges?

Evidently the officer that was assigned to the case believed that the couple that hit me were not the ones.

Insufficient evidence I think the lady at the desk told me.

I told her I could identify the 2 people. She said this is all I have.

I need to get ahold of that officer and see what his reasoning is.

Hard to believe that you can clobber someone like this and take off and be found later with damage to the front of your jeep and the victim, myself, can identify the both of them and there is not enough evidence to bring charges.

I really don't get it but I will before this is all done.

I stayed there for an extra week to work on this. The only problem there seems to be with the police believing me somehow.

Go figure?

Headache is gone and no dizziness today.......

If this keeps up I will be in Tunica.

Bankroll is a little low from laying around hurt but i should be able to pump back up with some lessons this weekend.

Got about 3 days to get ready.

Things went good at Starship Billiards here in Springfield, Ill. Gave about 8 mini lessons and got one full lesson scheduled for tomorrow at 1:00.

Husband/Wife. Should be allot of fun.

They got a nine ball tourny here tomorrow night also. $10.00 entry. Good practice and maybe a paycheck at the end.

Now all I got is a sore neck. I hope it stays like this for sure.

Don't count me out for Tunica yet. Big Truck gave me a call and told me to get down there. Gotta love that guy. He was playing pool as we were talking.

He's just as pool crazy as the rest of us.

Gene,
I know you help out people with your mini lessons but I think you need to tell people how much more they get out of your FULL lesson for $200.

You have a wealth of experience in teaching but you also play at a very, very high level and that you share that knowledge of competing at a high level.

In addition to PERFECT AIM, you have also helped people with other aspects of their game, time permitting.

JoeyA

hey gene been keeping up with you here on the net just wanted to let you know that after you gave me a phone lesson all my buddy's have been wanting to know what I did to pick up my game sense the lesson I have won a couple small ten dollar tournaments one with ten players and one with sixteen players and last three weeks on league night I have won 6 out of 8 games in league and thanks again for the help on the brake told my friends to give you a call thanks again from AL

Glad to hear your game is great..........

And you know what Al.

There are players all over the world that are missing shots and they don't know that this is the fix.

This aligns the stance, stroke and the shot all very simply. And of course the dominant eye in the most correct position.

I just showed this to Fred up in Peoria about 2 weeks ago. He's a very qualified teacher. I think he is 80 some years old now. He almost couldn't believe what he was seeing. He just shook his head in awe.

The rest of the world will have to just try and figure it out.

You learned the easy way with Perfect Aim.

Thanks again Al.........

Had big trouble tonight....................

The day started out pretty good with a Husband/Wife lesson at 1:00PM.

At about 4:30 I came back to the room. Feeling a little dizzy and wore out.

Woke up at 6:30 to go play in the Friday night 9 ball race to 5 tourny. I like to play in these to stay sharp and maybe win some money, plus it shows the local players that I can play. I really have to sell the Perfect Aim lessons when i'm at a poolhall and this really helps.

I play my first match and win 5-0. I play my second match and win 5-0.

I play my 3rd match and i win 5-0 and played a perfect match. The guy I was playing only got to shoot 1 jump shot and one kick shot that he had no chance to hit.

I didn't lose a game in the whole little tourny. Only 10 players.

Now i didn't know this but this guy usually wins this thing with the players that showed up. It was a really nice day so the turnout was pretty poor..

First was $62 and second was $38. Not anything to get too excited about.

As I'm shooting the 9 ball in this guy gives me the rack and starts going off about professional players like me playing in their tourny. Going off in my face a little and just keeps it up and keeps it up.

Then he walks over to some of the other guys and goes off some more. looks back at me and says look at that he's smiling about it. Talking about me.

Here I am trying to get fully recovered from a concusion and this guy is acting like he's nuts.

I can fight about as good as i play pool and did all my own bouncing at my own bar/poolhall for 13 years but that was 14 years ago that I closed it. I'm now 60 years old. I don't think I would hold up too good in a dragged out fight especially with a guy that is much bigger and looks to be pretty fit.

The guy comes back over to me still going off like he's almost insane and lurches toward me like he's going to swing at me.

He doesn't know how close he came to missing his front teeth. I almost swung a solid right that would have definitely hit it's mark. He would have had no idea it was coming.

This guy is about 6' and 220. Looks to be in very good shape.

But I know how these things work when a fight breaks out. All the players jump in it to stop it as soon as possible.

Luck for us both I took the mindset that barking dogs don't bark. I didn't even flinch when he lurched forward to scare me. Lucky for both of us, especially me because of my physical condition right now, that i didn't punch as a defensive move.

In a situation like this sometimes the best defense is a quick and precise offense. I didn't have much time to decide which way to go.

I went up to the bar that was away from the pool tables a little. I was the winner of the winners side and I have to wait for the losers side to get done.

There was a guy playing pool on one of the nine footers. His name is Rich Edwards. I started playing some 10 ball with him and started doing what I do and started helping him improve with a mini perfect Aim lesson.

Really nice guy. He's going to call me for a lesson in a day or 2.

You wouldn't guess who won the losers side. You got it.

He comes over to me at the nine footer and tells me he's not going to play. I automatically win first. He says there's no sense playing. I can't win anyway he says.

Some other words were said but he was not going to get any argument from me at all.

Why even have this guy there at all. I can't believe they need this one customer that bad. He would have been gone from my place.

But it's their ball game and it's got to be tough. i don't know who knows who and so forth and so forth. They all know each other but for a stranger coming in it's kind of scary.

I almost passed out tonight playing 10 ball after one of my breaks. And my back muscles are all knotted up again.

The good news is I don't have any new bumps or bruises.

If i would have swung with that right hand I know I would have swung pretty hard because this guy was pretty big.

I wonder how I would have played with a broken hand and maybe my right shoulder dislocated again. Or my broken ribs that have just barely healed up punched in a little bit.

What a nightmare.

I'll be going back down there tomorrow. I have allot of friends made already and the lessons are coming slowly but surely.

I might even give this trouble guy a perfect aim lesson if he comes back in.

He's probably a real nice guy. Maybe just got some tough things happening in his life.

If i lived here for a long time we would probably become friends.

Hi Gene,
The funny thing about this is I was going to post yesterday when you talked about entering the little $10 tourney. I was going to ask if you ever ran into anybody who thought you came into town to "steal" the little tourneys. Your reason for entering sounds legit. Dominate the tourney and have people start asking about Perfect Aim. But I suspected some might react negatively (although not to the extent of this guy). Sounds like he enjoyed being the big fish in a little pond and felt embarrassed by the beating you gave him.

I wasn't there, but if I were in your shoes when he came up and refused to play the finals, I may have responded with "you know, I'm tired and sore from a recent accident, so I'm glad you said that. Why don't we just split 50/50". Yes, I know he had to beat you twice, but it may have thrown a little good will out there since you weren't banking on the $63 anyway.

But you were there, and if he was a complete a$$hat, just keep the extra few bucks.

And thanks again for spending a few minutes with me when you were in Grayslake at Shooter's. I'm hoping it helps me next week in Beloit.

Hit a gear last night,,,,,,,,,,

I can't stand it.

I'm about 6 hours from Tunica and didn't think I could get ready for this big event.

I've been playing through the headaches, blurred vision and the dizziness to try and still be ready for this.

My left eye doesn't see double anymore and the headache went away.. The dizzy part is OK because I can have one hand on the table. it isn't a dizzy like with the ears but just a little wobbly.

I just talked to Joey A and they couldn't have a better man on the mic fpr the streaming.

He's a real class act and also a huge part of our pool world.

I'm a little short on cash because of being banged up about 5 weeks ago but if I can hit that gear tonight I will be going to Tunica and give some of the boys a first hand taste of Perfect Aim.

This is the greatest event I think ever with pool, or at least for a long while and I need to get there if I think I can play my game.

They don't have a diamond here in Springfield Ill to play on but the table I've been playing on is not very forgiving.

Tonight will tell the story.

Especially by playing in the Ultimate 10 ball I will be in gear mentally for anything there after.

There's a whole week and 1/2 of nothing but pool pool pool.

Going to work.

What a moron. He got a free lesson from a professional player & instructor for the entry fee of this little podunk tournament. Gene, anytime you want to play me race to 5 for $10, please let me know. I'm glad you weren't forced into an altercation and left the place relatively unscathed.

The behavior Gene saw is more common these days than ever before IMO. I have played with Gene before and am just as old so I guess the boys don't like losing to us old fellers much. I played in a local event three weeks ago and was the winner of the winners side. That was when the nonsense started. They would not tell me the rules for the final matches had buddies yelling behind me while I was shooting and finally resorted to smoking cigarettes around the table. It was late naturally so the owners looked the other way and I decided it was better to lay down and let the winner of the losers side win, the difference was only 40 bucks.. I figured its better to beat them down slowly and take smaller bites out of them for a while..
