On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Geno

Wish you would drop on down to Olathe and Wichita? I used to play Omaha John during the mid 70's down at Burke's Steakhouse. He came though there pretty often, about 4-6 times that I can remember. He was a hell of a player. Everyone stopped by Burke's, it was the action place in Wichita.

We had a few very good players of our own, including Jr. Brown and Terry Young.

Coming there soon...................

My plans are to make it down there right after Omaha. I go to Omaha tomorrow.

Got a pile of lessons already to go in Topeka and KC area. Just need to call them to set up a time when I get there.

If you want on the list just give me a call. The bigger the list the better.

Can't wait to get down there. I lived in Lees Summit for about 7 years.

Great pool world down there.

Give me a call 715-563-8712 Talk to you soon Geno...........

Kansas City Here we come..........

Right back where we started from....

It was back in 2008 in Kansas city that I started really teaching perfect aim as much as I could.

I had no video and was just telling everyone i could improve their game. I didn't even have a name for it.

I was trying to play but i was already diabetic but didn't know it so i was killing myself with the food yet.

I told them that I was going to make a video and it would be one of the biggest hits in the aiming world.

I'm heading there today and might be there from anywhere from a week to 2 weeks. Got a bunch of lessons set up already and will be doing a bunch more.

See all my old friends there soon. can't wait. Geno.......

Geno, I'm about just under 5 hours from K.C. and have a lot of family there. I generally go there for Royals' games during the summer.

I'm saving up for The Southern Classic this year, so I won't be able to make it during your Missouri swing this time.

How often are you in the K.C. area? I'd like to get up there sometime.

Do you ever come to Memphis, TN or Springfield, MO?

What about Cape Girardeau, MO? I hear there's lots of action and great players in Cape.

I'm just trying to figure out where I can catch you for a hands-on lesson. I have your video and it's helped a bit, but I'd like to know more and let you actually see what I'm doing. I feel like I've narrowed down a problem with my eyes. I made some adjustments to my bridge firmness and my back hand, but while that has helped, I've noticed a slight change in eye/head angle really messes with my game.

Gene,

I've finally had a chance to compete in summer league since your lessons.

I've won the first 7 games of competition but lost the 8th one last night. It wasn't due to any defects in your lessons, but to my having too much fun, if you know what I mean. Plus, he is close to a master player and he'd already lost two games last night and didn't want to lose another, so he was really bearing down.

A teammate asked me what I was doing differently and now he wants me to show him some of your stuff. (He saw you competing at Dog's) I know from experience that nothing is better for really learning-in-depth than teaching the subject, so I said OK. He's going to Nashville for the napa thingy and when he gets back, he wants a lesson.

It's been two weeks or so since we did the lesson. After a lot of practice mostly just playing Hopkin's Q game, I am finally getting to the point where most of it is automatic now. I'm still getting used to using severe side spin (my favorite thing to do!;) ) with it, but even that is getting towards the automatic stage. I figure by summer's end, it will be ingrained into my skull.

One thing personally I've noticed is that when it seems very easy as your techniques tend to do, I get lazy potting shots and that's when I miss. I know we talked about this and I'm working on my winning motivations vs. playing for the fun of it.

Stay safe out there,

Jeff Livingston

Just give me a call. I'll clear it up for you with the phone lesson.

We can still do a personal lesson sometime but this phone lesson will really help you to understand how this works for sure.

When we get done you won't have a problem with the eyes anymore.

I guarantee it. Thanks Geno.......

Need some rest............

Got stuck in a nightmare here in KC with the room situation. The Royals were playing the Cardinals. Not a room available for miles and miles.

Need some rest.

Story later. need to sleep, sleep and sleep....

Don't know for sure....

When ya comin to St. Louis Gene? Need to go over a few things in person.

Thanks for all that you do.

John

Hi there John,

When I do you will be the first one I call on the list. I have about 4 or 5 lessons to do when I get over there.

If i end up here in KC too long, and it looks like I might, that Cape Girardo tourny would be sweet. I could just swing over to St Louis.

Hoping I can.

Thanks again John.

The road finishes off most road player trips. Eats them up!

I just wanted to share this with all the pool players at home that don't get to get out there. This is one of the reasons I do this thread. Plus there are players I know that just want to know what's going on.

Plus it's just fun. Even though it's very trying sometimes like right now.

Most road players over the years didn't really go busted by losing all their money, some did for sure, but it was the road that got them.

You can try to manage your money as hard and careful as you can but things just mess you up, like motels.

When i left Lincoln I could have went back to Omaha. Had some lessons to do there but the College World Sieries of Baseball was still going on.No motel rooms. So I opted to go the KC instead. I was pretty close anyway and I lived down here for about 7 years from 2000 to 2008.

I didn't play pool during this time until 2008. Diabetic and didn't know it. Sick and tired all the time. Couldn't even get to the tournaments. Too wore out.

Before I left for KC I Met Monte from AZ here and we ended up in his garage talking Perfect Aim and Pro one. Monte knows his stuff.

Got to bed at 7:00 AM and need to get out of the room in Lincoln by 11:00 AM but I can sleep when I get to KC , Right. WRONG>>>>>>>>>>>>

So I got to Kansas City at about 3:00 PM. When I got there I was pretty tired.

As soon as i got there I had to go see my old house in Lees Summit. It was beautiful with so many great memories.

Then I had to start going to my old haunts down here. Side Pockets in Blue spring, North KC, Lees Summit and Raytown Rec, Brass rail.

About 9:00 Pm I started checking on a room. I'd like to get one for a week because I know I'll be here that long for sure. Maybe 2. And by this time with only about 4 hours of sleep the night before I'm really starting to drag. Starting to fall asleep while I'm driving.

KC Royals are playing the St Louis Cardinals this weekend. Every single room is booked within 60 miles, it's crazy. Even the little small ones that normally hardly anyone stays at are plum full.

I keep driving around trying to get a room. Some would have the room for the night but they got the price jacked up rediculous so I move on. Not paying $70 to $100 for 5 hours of sleep.

This hunt went on until 5:00 in the morning. Finally I went back to Raytown and stayed in a room for $50, way too much for what it was, and got 4 hours sleep. Check out was at 10:30.

Next day I went to Side Pockets in Lees Summit. Duff always has something cooking down here for the players. He had a benefit tourny. $15 entry fee with door prizes that they drew for and Paul Gerny was there to do some trick shots and just do whatever he could do to make the event more exciting.

And Paul did just that. He puts on a great show. And what a nice guy.

I wish that I wasn't so tired but it sure was fun anyway.

Then Daryl, that I played in the final match, says I should go play in the free tourny at the Flamingo in Independence. So there I go, so wore out I can't even think, and I'm over there at 7:30 Sat night.

I end up winning the tourny somehow, needed alot of help, and tried to find a room again. After about checking on 10 motels I gave up and went back to this little stinky motel in Raytown. Luckily he had one room left. It was the worst, smoked in, stinkiest, nastiest room I have ever stayed in , in my life. it had a big sticky king size bed so he felt justified in his king size price. tomorrow I'm sure you could get this room for $30 and that would be too much. I can't imagine anyone stay here unless their desperate like me.

I woke up at 11:30.. My nose burned, throat hurt. My eyes were kind of swelled shut kind of. Not only am I tired from the third day without sleep but I have to fade this.

The good news is I know I have a great room waiting for me in Independence. $280 for the week and I have a kitchen so i can cook some really great food and eat healthy.

I get over there at 12:00 noon only to find out I can't check in until 3:00PM.:frown: It's too hot to sit in the car, like 95* so I go to eat and go shopping at Walmart.

So i get into the room and get everything settled when a friend of mine , Tom Duncan calls me up and wants a tuneup on Perfect Aim. I'm so tired but I can't turn down Tom. Tom and myself ran around together playing pool in Eau Claire Wisconsin when we were 18 to about 21. We were best friends kind on connected at the hip back then. Come on, this is pool. this is important stuff. And this isn't just anyone. My buddy.

I told Tom to meet me at the Famingo. They have a 9 ball tourny at 7:30. $10.00 entry. Race to 5 in the winners and to 3 in the losers. I told him we could work inbetween matches on Perfect Aim. That didn't work out so well. All the tables were always full. But we did sneak on a few minutes here and there inbetween matches so all was not lost.

I somehow made it to the final match but I just self destructed . I couldn't make a ball or get shape. I think we have all been there, Right. 3 days with 12 hours sleep total maybe. I was toast.

I headed back to the room and when I layed down on the bed I thought to myself this is what heaven must feel like. I fell asleep right there. Woke up 2 hours later to get my sleep apnea machine hooked up so I could really sleep.

Woke up at 2:00PM and still feel tired.

I brought alot of this tiredness onto myself, but many a road player has experienced the same type of circumstances. They just get plum wore out by things that just happen that are not even related to pool. They still feel that they need to keep going because the expenses keep going. The more wore out you get the more mistakes you make with your well being and finances.

Plus there is always something going on that you can get to. In the moment sleep seems to be way overrated but it will catch up to you soon but later for sure.

Right now today I couldn't play my sister and expect to win. It's going to take me about 2 or three days to feel halfway normal again. this is when the road player is the most vulnerable. Make bad games and play bad.

You can't afford to book any losers on the road. expenses on the road are bad enough.

I'm pretty lucky though. I'm teaching and can focus on that in the next 3 days. The road player is still out there trying to matchup and play running on 2 cylinders. Not good.

Kind of long winded but I hope you all get the picture. This is one of the main reasons that the road player today is almost extinct.

The Road in ROAD PLAYER just eats you up just like an alligator.

Good thing I don't have to play anyone today or the next 3 days to take care of the nut. But I do need to push myself to set up lessons which in itself doesn't happen unless your out there making it happen. It would be real easy to just sit and watch tv and recharge which sometimes has to be the way it is. Just can't function anymore.

But the good news with Perfect Aim Lessons everyone wins.

WIN>>>>WIN>> situation if there ever was one.......

Got to get ot work. See you all soon.

Side Pockets North KC tonight......

Side pockets north has a great little tourny tonight. I'll be there setting up lessons and of course trying to win the tourny.

It's 9 ball race to 3. They have a great break pot though. it's up to $160 a ball.

If you name gets drawn, you break. if you make a ball you get to keep shooting. Each ball is worth $160. If you miss you lose everything you already earned.

Sounds like fun. More fun. imagine that. Pool, pool ad more pool.

Can you ever get enough of it???????????????

Another great story about the road, Gene! Young players thinking about the excitement of life on the road should read your posts carefully. They are filled with the knowledge only gained from being on the road.

thanks for sharing your road stories.

Played in another tourny tonight............

Went to Side pockets north on Englewood tonight. Pretty tough field all fighting it out for the cash. This is the trenches of pool just like in your home town. This is where you can hone your playing skills and your nerve. If you can't get it going here your not going to get it going in the bigger ones.

this was a race to 3 , 9 ball so it's pretty important that you don't dog it.

I played a guy amed Ernesto from the Dominican in the final. I beat him 3-0 the first set. I'm ahead 1-0 in the second and my friend Daryl told me I should lose the second set because this guy would gamble. Lose maybe 3 to 4 hundred. The difference was first was 90 and second was 65. I couldn't help it. Auto dump just took over and I took second.

I asked him to play tomorrow and he said he had to spend some time with the wife. then after about 5 minutes he asked me what time I want to play.

It won't be anything big. $200 sets but it will be fun. Hope I've recovered from my exaustion from the last 4 days.

Have to see how strong I feel in the morning. Then again who am I kidding. I'm gonna play him.

I'm a pool player.

I'm bummed! I just moved from KC to Charlotte. Good luck at Side Pockets. If you can't find action there, definitely head to Shooters in Olathe. You can't help but find a game there. #$^ Jr. National Champs...kid gives me a 7-3 race in 8 ball. How can I say no. After 2 sets I was sick to my stomach. :)

blame the instructors!

Well, blame the instructors, the internet, DVD's, books, et al. I watched a couple kids sneak in and take off a fair sized tournament awhile back. They had the knowledge and skills that it used to take twenty years or longer to learn bit by bit if you ever learned all they knew. They had that, the razor sharp eyes of teenagers and the young bodies without all the aches and pains.

It ain't gonna get anything but tougher for the older players!

It's crazy how the correct info can boost your game........

Hi there and sorry I missed you here in KC. I'm having a great time here. Giving lessons and playing in their weekly tournys here.

It's kind of tough sometimes to tell the older players that there is something like Perfect Aim that can jump their game up a notch. I can do all the Free Phone lessons, total at 538 right now and get rave reviews but players still don't believe it. Do they think I pay them to go on here and say how much better their playing as one poster on here suggested.

Absolutely not!!!!!!

And do they think that anyone would go on here and say how well it worked if it didn't.

Absolutely not!!!!!!!

This is the way the eyes naturally work. The way they naturally work is the same thing that causes so many problems with the aim.

This is the answer and this is why I'm out here trying to help players play better. Some think i'm getting rich. Just the opposite. The road is expensive. Just the normal everyday expenses are around $100 to $120 per day and that doesn't count when something breaks down. It's tough just to stay even. If I didn't enjoy the road I wouldn't be doing it. But getting rich, NO.

The players that are dumb enough to think there is something that will help them shoot better are the lucky ones. These are the lucky players that can now take their game to a level they never thought possible. Perfect aim will help them get there.

I have never met a player that understands Perfect Aim. I'm talking about the main meat of it. Not just a part like fractional aiming and a few other things that I talk about. These are just some of the things that just go along with it. But not the main principle. The parts that help a player envision the shot better than ever are all original. Never seen before in any video, book or lessons.

It's so sad though when players hear about one thing or part that I teach and think that is all Perfect aim is.

It's the better players that need this the most. but they are the ones that are too smart, they are sure they already know it. How wrong.

Anyway. I played in the tourny tonight at the brass Rail up by Liberty Missouri. I gave a perfect Aim demo.

Race to 2 8 ball. double elim.

I missed shape one time tonight. that put me in the loser bracket. I never missed a ball though all night. I won the tourny pretty convincingly. Race to 2 you better not miss or it's over for sure.

I passed out some fliers and talked to some players about Perfect aim.

I even showed some players bits and pieces of Perfect aim to show them how to see the shots better without giving everything away.

I'm not Superman for sure. I just know how to aim in a very easy to learn way.

Sometimes it's just tough to try to help players. They just think they know what your teaching already.

If they only knew. I'd never get any rest. ................

Call me for the free phone lesson in a few days. We'll turn you into one of the lucky ones in about an hour on the phone.

It works almost as good as being there in Person.

Looking forward to helping. 715-563-8712 Thanks geno.......

Today was a great pool day in Kansas City..fun and more fun...

Had a match set up with Ernest from the Dominican at 3:00. i woke up at 2:30. I slept 11 hours. I finally burned and crashed.

I called Ernesto and told him right away that I couldn't be there. He said no problem. He has 2 more days off.

Then my buddy Tom calls. He's real anxious to learn perfect aim. So I told him I would go over to the Flamingo. I had to shower and go to walmart first. I got there right after he did.

We worked on the aiming and Tom was very responsive. he's like so many other players out there that like to gamble a little but usually gets the worst of it. Players here give him a spot and tom could probably win with it but the eyes sabatage his aim.

I worked with him for about 2 hours. He's got it down pretty good and was shooting the shots in pretty consistently but he needs to work at it until it gets very natural. Even though he knows how to line up perfectly he still needs to focus on it and not slip back to the old way.

I'm going to work with him some more in a few days to see the improvements. I'm sure it's going to be huge. You see Tom is a karate instructor and has his own school. He knows how to focus and work hard. he just needed to know what to focus on. Just like so many other players out there.

Pretty soon it was 6:30. Time flies when your having fun.

Tourny at the brass rail. 7:00. I heard some great players are showing up there on a regular basis. I don't want to miss this one.

Mike Banks Jr is there, Jordan davis and a bunch of others all capable of knocking this race to 2, 8 ball tourny off. Double elim. 32 players in all. And most of them had heard that I was in town. It was great to see all my old friends.

The weekly tournaments like this is what I call the trenches. this is where a player hones his savy and mustard. In these short races it's like everyone is on the hill almost all the time. Pressure, pressure and more pressure. if it gets to you and you miss it's usually over. All these guys can run out a rack of 8 ball. And they will put the boots to you if you miss.

I missed shape one time and it put me in the losers bracket. I never missed a ball all night and never missed a shape again. Won the tournament.

$5 entry only with 1st place paying $100. How much more fun can you have for $5.

All players everywhere need to go support their local pool halls everywhere and play in these weekly tournys. This is what gets you ready for the big ones. This is what gives you a reason to practice. So you can compete. Plus you can just enjoy the atmosphere of everyone there. it's just so cool. everyone wants to win. But there's only going to be one winner. Just like the big tournys. Only one winner.

The only time you can practice being in a finals of a tournament is when you are in the finals. You can't fake it or pretend. What a great opportunity to get there every week.

Afterwards I took the manager of the place and showed him a little about Perfect Aim. Gave him a little mini lesson. I'm going to the brass rail tomorrow night to give everyone in the APA leagues there free mini lessons. This is the fastest way I know to help a bunch of players improve their games.

I think the APA is great. The only bad thing is i kind of screw things up sometimes. Some of them get playing so much better so fast that they need to split up the team. But that's what keeps it growing so fast. it gets adding new players to the league that are just starting out. What a great concept.

GROW GROW and GROW some more. That's what we need in this pool world of ours.

Can't wait for tomorrow night. I've had too much fun playing with just a few lessons. it's time to get to work and help alot of players improve their games with the limited time I will have here.

Today was a great day. helped a friend, won a tourny, and set up a free seminar at The Brass Rail tomorrow night.

It don't get any better than that.

One man, a van and the Road.......
