On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Getting my game life and game back on track..............

Congrats on winning today against wisconsin's finest.

I've been quietly healing from a huge loss in my life and trying to stay in somewhat stroke.

It's turning out to be pretty easy, the pool part i mean, with the seizure medication.

Oshkosh was a pretty big tournament with Wisconsins finest at a great place to play pool, the Varsity Club. There was about 15 players there that were capable of winning on any given day.

I had 4 Hill hill matches and won everyone of them obviously. Kevin, from Milwaukee was down 4-1. Came back and got on the hill. Tough match.

Ike reynolds went Hill hill and then Tom McCluskey Hill hill. Both great players for sure. I was very fortunate to win all 3 of these matches.

These are all great players that can play with anyone in the country and are winning many of the tournys around here.

I'm also quietly still doing lessons with many of the local players.

I also played in 3 tournys this weekend.

8 ball in Bloomer friday night. 8 ball in Neilsville with Jans pool tour Satirday and a 9 ball in Neilsville on Sunday while watching the Packer game. Trying to stay busy.

Won 2 of these and had so much fun around old friends.

One of the best things about being a pool player is that you can go to any poolhall or tournament and be with friends. Good times or bad there are always people and players there for you.

A player might be gone for awhile but when you come back they are all there for you.

The pool world. it don't get any better than this.

I will be back on track here and traveling and teaching everywhere i go.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and Have a Happy New Year.......

Just got back from the neurologist.......

We talked and I told him what was going on. He said the neurologist in Virginia got it right.

The Kepra is doing the job. They know I've had a few concussions and most of my symptoms are consistent with that. As far as the seizures we just have to wait and see and take care of myself the best I can.

Looks like I will be playing allot of pool.

I guess I'm going to be one of those players that is playing on drugs.

Dr Young here in Eau Claire said just keep taking the pills and enjoy life the best you can.

I told him i was going back on the road teaching and playing. He said he liked my attitude. 60 years old and ready to whip the world.

He said to call him as soon as I get on TV.

The next live stream I'm on I'm calling him. :thumbup2::rotflmao1:

After the 15th of jan it's up up and away. Perfect Aim is here to stay....

One man a van and going on the road again.........

Living life right now............

You and Rhea going to hook back up?

Right now life at home is pretty important. I don't know for sure if I can do what I was doing with my medical status right now.

Mentally or physically. The weeks ahead will tell the story.

Right now I'm being pretty selfish with my time.

Need to have myself right before i would even think of being on the road with someone else. I don't need to be dead weight for anyone.

I'm very fortunate as many of us are to have pool in our lives.

But for now pool playing and teaching are definitely taking a back seat.

I wish yourself and everyone else a very Happy new Year.

Time to get life back on track...........

I had enough.

Not eating the way I should I've gained about 15 lbs that were hard to lose in the first place.

I checked my blood sugar tonight and it was 220. If I don't get this under control i will have to start taking the pills again and they make me sick. I exercised for about an hour and got it back down to 115. Never should have got that high in the first place.

I got up at 8:00 to go play in a tourny at Portage Wi. It was only a race to 3 8 ball. One match i only got to break dry once and it was over. That got me in the losers. The last match that knocked me out i had nothing left in the tank.

Time to get bank on track and get this 60 tear old body back into as top form as it can get.

Feeling sorry for myself has got to be over.

Time to get life back on track.

Thanks everyone for all the support. Time to get back to work.

One man a van and the road.................

Geno, I'm a big fan and love your passion for the game and the way you play. We've met and shot together as part of a mini lesson after I watched your video. I've defended you in the past when people have bashed you for always having excuses after a loss.

This post kind of bothered me a bit in the excuse department.
1. It was a race to 3 tournament with many great shooters. A race to 3 like that is what I equate to as a coin flip.
2. Last week you posted about feeling great and winning 2 out of 3 tournaments over the weekend. At least one of them was another monster field.

I'm guessing you didn't gain that 15 lbs in the last week.

I'm not saying you shouldn't talk about your health as part of this thread, but it's not the reason you lost in a race to 3 tourney. Last week you posted how great you felt when you won. Maybe you could've posted that you felt great, but know you've gained x lbs and need to start working on that a bit.

Hope all straightens out and you make it down to DCC in a few weeks. I won't be there, but love to read about the adventures.

Unfortuanately being diabetic is something you really need to stay on top of if your going to try and control it with diet instead of pills that make you feel bad.

This weekend was a taste of what it feels like to feel bad again from a constant eating of things i shouldn't.

Had nothing to do with my playing and a race to 3 is a crap shoot. I played bad all day and was lucky to get as far as i did. I didn't win many of my matches but had to count on the opponent losing by playing bad.

Right after my mothers passing I really didn't care what I ate. Being diabetic that is a recipe for disaster.

I don't think my mother would have wanted me to try and kill myself with the food.

I only found out I was having the seizures about a week before my mothers death. never really had a chance to eat right and cut down the seizures and see where this would take me health wise.

I'm sure other players and people have lost loved ones and kind of got lost as far as taking care of themselves.

The good news is the bell went off in my head and the voice said "what are you trying to do" ?

For me and many players around the country, pool is a reason to stay healthy.

Point being, yesterday was not much fun the way i felt. And there are bad side effects from the seizure meds also but most of my problems were from abusing the food and eating too many cookies whenever i wanted too. Kind of like crying in my beer if i still drank beer.

Eating right and controlling my blood sugar along with stopping these seizures is my new short term goal.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life and I'm going to make it better and better each and every day and playing pool is my motivation to get there.

At 60 years old I don't have time to waste.

I know what you mean about the lost loved ones. Had one of my biggest scores of my life one night after work. Had been up 24 hours straight and got home on a high with $$ coming out of every pocket. Only to have a message on my machine from my dad. I called to find my grandma wasn't expected to make it through the day. The hospital was 90 mins away, but my dad begged me not to drive because he knew I was out all night. Never did get to say goodbye.

Took away my passion for the game, and especially gambling. Didn't play pool for about 15 years seriously after that, and never gambled seriously to this day. But I'm back in pool, playing well, but not near as well as if I didn't take the 15 year hiatus. But just enjoying the game...Especially in the Wisconsin area.

Need to figure out a better way to help more players.........

I have a problem.

I have the most valuable information that any pool player could ever learn. Those that i have given a personal lesson to understand how valuable what I teach is.

Lesser skilled players sometimes don't understand the total value but the AA up to pro can really see the value because it really fixes a dark area that they never even knew existed and had no idea how much easier it would make it to aim a shot until they can see it with their own eyes.

I really want to help all players and as fast as I can.

I'm going to start doing small videos of the things I teach so the players can see that these things are the real deal. Most of what i teach no one even understands until they see it with their own eyes.

I've spent almost 5 years traveling and teaching to show as many players as I can and I've had a great time doing it. I still plan on doing that.

But some how i have to reach more people.

There are many aspects of pool that are very important. I do teach them all. And many of these things are taught by many players and teachers. the info is pretty much the same with the individual teachers twist to it.

I can't even remember a personal lesson where the player wasn't just WOWed.

I'm going to still have the Perfect aim video that has helped so many players everywhere but in addition I will be making small video clips that will be tutorials about many of the aspects of the game.

Eye patterns, stance, stroke, kicking and banking,

There is more one way to do these things but there is only onemore correct way.

Take eye patterns. 90% of the pro players do it the same exact way just about.

They get there mostly from repetition naturally not knowing the process totally from start to finish. But this can be taught to everyone and make the eye pattern process so much easier and successful.

This is what I want to teach, the number one best way to do things. If 90% of the pros are doing something a certain way it just might be the best way.

This will be my first video that I will make for download. It will be very affordable.

The second one will be the break. Just like shoveling snow there is a best way to do it so you don't hurt yourself. If we shoveled snow in Wisconsin and Indy, I saw Bobby Jr on facebook with the snowblower, like we break the balls we would all be at the chiro every other day.

I will not only show everyone how to have more power and hit the head ball on the button but I will show you how to not hurt yourself.

There are not things that I have read in a book or looked at someones video and just copied but I've studied and worked with thousands of players all over the country the last 5 years or so.

Just like running a shovel there is only one best way to do it and make it easier with good results.

The break is the same. I have never seen anyone teaching the things that I teach on the break. Especially the 2 small tweaks that give any players more power and accuracy.

These will be my first 2 projects.

So the road might have to wait for a minute.

I will be at the Derby for sure though.

Pumped about a Special lesson today.........

His name is Mike and he's from LaCrosse, Wi.

This guy has all the tools. His skill level is way up there but the eyes are way behind.

This will be my first attempt at video taping parts of a lesson and telling the story in a video about what Mike wants to do with his game. His expectations are high but just feels like something is missing.

He's hoping this is it.

He got here an hour early so I need to hurry up.

A very Special tourny this weekend in Faribault, Minn.

This weekend is one of the most traditional tournaments that i have ever seen.

At the KC Club in Faribault, Minnesota.

Seco Veroni and Richard Arndt have kept this going for 33 years. They have actual albums that anyone can look through. it has pictures of all the past winners and many of the people that come to watch.

Saturday they have 9 ball race to 7 winner breaks.Sunday is 8 ball race to 5 winner breaks. It is played on valley bar tables with a red circle cue ball. And there is plenty of room to shoot around all of the tables.

There is a kitchen there with great food and it seems like the same people are there almost every year.

Don't worry about trying to get in this thing because it was full 2 months ago.

Each tourny pays $1000 for first and $750 for second and so forth.

Calcutta is always great also.

It happens the 11th and 12th of Jan and I just get goose bumps thinking about it.

Thanks Seco and Thanks Richard for keeping this great tournament for us players to go to for all these years. ;)

Had a great time and a good Tournament......

As usual the competition was stiff. Felix Beardy and a friend that shoots pretty sporty came all the way from Canada.

Rory Hendrickson and a few others came from Fargo.

There were so many former National BCA and VNEA, APA, and ACS champions that it almost looked rediculous to think that you could win.

With a 101 temp and burning nose and throat I made a last minute decision to play Friday. Sat morning I almost just went back to bed and skip the 8 ball on Saturday but something about this tourny just made me get there.

Surprisingly I was shooting pretty good. I slept like crap with my nose and throat feeling like it was on fire.

Played Jamie Pluto and lost a real tough match hill hill on a real heart breaker.

Fought my way through the losers only to play Jamie again in the final match. Jamie played really well all day. He deserved to get where he was. This was a real tough tourny with no real easy matches as usual.

I lose hill hill again on another tough played match.

Jamie Pluto got $1000 for first and the calcutta was about $$1900

I got $700 for second and the calcutta was about $1200. I got half.

The second day I felt a little better. Fever was less and I got some sleep.

Hoping to get an easy draw my first match I ended up playing Felix Beardy. Nice Draw?

I was ahead 5-2 in a race to 7. Felix played a great safe. Wins that game and then makes 2 9 balls in a row on the break making it 5-5.

Got to hill hill and i finally pulled off the last game. Tricky out but never got into trouble.

My next match I almost ran out the set. Won fairly easy.

Then I had to play Mario Parrona. As far as I'm concerned this guy is probably the toughest player there on the bar box playing 9 ball.

I got on a roll and he never got to shoot much. I won 7-0.

Then I played Felix's buddy from Canada, I think his name was Matt. I was ahead of him 6-1 and the guy came back and got on the hill. Tough match. I pulled off the last game in a real tough safety dual.

Then came Jamie Plutta. I jumped out ahead and got some revenge from the 8 ball matched the day before. Got a couple of good rolls and that's all the help i needed. Jamie played well. I just ran a few racks with winner breaks.

Earlier i also played Rory hendrickson from Fargo. Like I said there were really no easy matches. Any one of these guys could have won the tourny.

He missed a few times and that was all the help I needed. 7-2

Rory didn't give up though. this guy is a fighter.

He played Jamie Plutta for 2nd and 3rd and blew Jamie away 7-0. Jamie hardly got to shoot and when he did he was kicking at stuff.

Well here we go. I'm in the hot seat and now i have to play one of the hottest players in the tourny. Rory Hendrickson.

I knew i had to play well or he would just control the game just like he did with jamie. The pressure was on.

I lost the flip and thought to myself. This might be the difference of this match.

Lucky for me Rory scratched in the upper right hand corner giving me ball in hand. I jumped out to the lead at 4-2 and never lost another game winning 7-2.

First got me $1000 and $950 for my half of the calcutta.

Rory got $700 and around 600 for his half of the calcutta.

Like i said before, 2 great tournys the way it was done in the old days. No handicap. Rack for your opponent in the 9 ball. Rack your own in the 8 ball. And winner breaks.

Great food and friendly people. The spectators that come know most of the players by name.

to win both of these tournaments is almost a rediculous thought. To come as close as I did this weekend to doing that is almost as rediculous.

I netted $3250 from both tournys. After entry fees, motel calcutta I came away with about $2600.

Pretty good weekend.

Winning isn't everything but it sure beats losing.

One man a van and the road......having a little fun again.............

Thanks Seco, Rich and all the other good people at the KC Club in Faribault, Minnesota for making these great tournys happen for the 33rd year in a row.

Nice Playing Gene. I'm assuming you were the "old man" of the tourney, but still walked away with most of the cash :)

That's some strong shooting Geno! Nice job.

What's your opinion on the Minn vs Wisc FB discussion? You chimed in last night, but didn't mention that you just dominated a Minn tourney.
