On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Geno, Be very, very careful on your choice of surgeon. I have been butchered twice in my life by them, the second time I lost my left knee. His butchery caused the revisionist doctor to have to cut off the interior top half of my tibia, he put in a block of trebecullar metal a total knee and a 7 inch steel rod down the interior of my tibia. It was a nightmare and ended my career. BE VERY CAREFUL! I wish you all the best and pray you have a good outcome. If you think anything is wrong get a second opinion fast!

100% agree!! A few nurses in my home town said this doc was the best. I let him operate on my wrist without doing alot of research. And he screwed up the first surgery and told me what he wanted to do for the second surgery. After talking to alot of people who had this doc, said they would never let him touch them with a knife again. So I had a second third and forth option on the second surgery he wanted to do, and all 3 of the doctors said no to hes procedure. and I never should of had the first surgery to begin with because of arthritis in my wrist. Now I have a 100% frozen wrist. 0 range of motion. cant play my game I love competitively. And lost my career in pipe welding. lawyers wont take my case because all doctors read the MRI's different. So be careful on selecting a surgeon!

There comes a point where the fun and the pain are kind of a tossup.

If you can't sleep because of the pain your body just wn't heal.

I'm heading back to Wisconsin today. Don't know if I can make it in one shot.

My neck feels like i got a knife stuck in it and little pieces of wood jammed into it.

Pool will have to take a back burner for awhile.

I pushed it as far as i could. I just wanted to take one more trip before my surgery.

Now I'm going to see if I can speed it up. Hope I can.

Today is one of the saddest days of my life because i know that it is over for now.

If there is a way I will be back............

One man a little car and the road, tucking his tail and running home...........

Hey Geno...

Sorry to hear about the your neck issues..as you know I can relate. Sorry about your match with Corey this morning. Meant to catch you before you headed out. My Dad really enjoyed chatting with you at the tournament and said "you are a really nice guy..etc". Hopefully you'll be up for '4 bears' in 2 weeks with some much needed rest.

Til next time be safe on the road sir,

Sorry to hear another POS Doc got paid for screwing someone's life up. The guy I had is listed in Top Docs as one of the best. I had two guys in his locale give me second opinions and they both said I should not be walking at all. They said I needed emergency surgery because the implants had subsided and the top of my tibia was stress fractured beyond repair. The initial doc said everything was fine. After my total revision and retirement I tried to sue him. Met 5 law firms that had successfully sued him in the past but all told me forget it. They said the insurance companies killed malpractice several years ago by informing the docs that if they participated in a lawsuit that they would have their own malpractice insurance cancelled. Finally got one firm that did try, was told there are only two states where you can even get a doc to review the case one is New York, the other is Cali. Without a doc to testify for you there is no case. My info was sent to an ortho surgeon for review in San Diego. He said No thanks and that was that. Docs have the freedom to do just about whatever they please. The doc that did my revision told me afterwards the first guy screwed me but would not participate in a lawsuit cause he would lose his job and insurance. It's a crap shoot Geno, I hope and pray you have a great outcome choose wisely..

Your right on that one Scott............

Hate to tell ya (and you can believe it or not), but just because somebody plays well doesn't mean that they particularly know what they're talking about...and in many "pro player" cases, they have no idea what they're talking about. The smart ones defer to people who are educated professional instructors.

I have talked to so many of my buddies that play at a higher level and they don't have a clue as to what they are doing and they think they know everything.

I can guarantee though that this player knows what he is talking about.

Plus practice makes Perfect and I have logged about 10,000 lessons in 5 years.

Over a 1,000 full lessons.

How? I do small mini lessons to show players how well Perfect Aim works.

Like yourself many of them don't think the dominant eye matters much until they get a heaping helping of Perfect Aim.

Once i get done with them there is no telling them that the dominant eye doesn't matter.

The nice thing about the things i teach, if it doesn't work for me i don't teach it.

I just don't teach stuff that i hear about or read about or someone just told me it works.

I make sure.

And then the things I teach I work on trying to figure out how to teach it well.

Again practice makes Perfect.

Like Randy and yourself, I know you guys give a bucket load of lessons.

it's almost like staying in stroke.

I am surprised you said "staying in stroke" and not "aim"

It is a big part of it, good call......

I am surprised you said "staying in stroke" and not "aim"

A big part of being in stroke is playing enough to keep the eyes in the correct position from repetition if you depending on naturally getting there. .

The ability to have the eyes in the correct position is the first to go and the last to get back unless you know how to get there.

You need to know where these natural sights are.

It's called Perfect Aim. Good Call.

The trip back to Wisconsin was tough but I got there......

As I left Wyoming I put shooters in my GPS.

I need to go through Minneapolis to get to Eau Claire, Wisconsin and I had Shooters Billiards from Burnsville Minnesota in my favorites. The problem was that i also had Shooters from Olathe Kansas in there also.

You guessed it. Being dog tired I put myself on course for Olathe.

I would have been better off staying up on 90 but I ended up on 80. When I reached Lincoln Nebraska and it tried to take me south I knew I had made a mistake that had cost me a few hours for sure.

I kept driving until i got to Faribolt, Mn and had to get a room. 15 hours of driving had done me in.

AS I took off at around 6:00 PM from the motel, I remembered that they have this sweet little tourny at Shooters in Burnsville. I'm still kind of tired but I can't pass up the fun.

It's $14 entry, race to five, 9 ball on gold crowns.

I started out playing pretty bad but had a good draw. the first 2 players that i played had never played 9 ball much. Then I kind of got in gear. There were about 5 players there that are capable of winning this tonight but I played just good enough to get to the end.

Everyone in the place knew that i had just drove from Wyoming and assumed that i had drove straight through and I said nothing to change their thoughts. I know a few of them would try to match up or at least offer thinking I would be an easy score.

Sure enough. I got some action after the tournament.

He was pretty drunk but still plays pretty sporty like that but figured I'd be too tired to play. One of my favorite players and a nice guy but a couple of $200 sets won't hurt either of us and would be kind of fun.

I was still pretty tired and my neck was killing me but I just had to play. I'm the favorite I feel .

Knowing how to match up from experience over the years i'll take tired over being drunk all the time when it comes to getting the cash.

Between the tournament and the action I win about $450 which more than payed for my expences coming home from Wyoming.

Now it was time to drive back to Eau Claire from Burnsville. As I got into Wisconsin it was kind of raining and sleeting. As I was driving down a big hill on the interstate I could feel this little car trying to go this way and that, like the wheels were falling off.

Black ice and lots of it. After sliding back and forth with almost no control I got slowed down to about 40 miles per hour. The semis just kept going full speed. If one of them hit me I would be killed for sure.

I pulled off at a truck stop and took a little nap in the car until the sun came up 3 hours later and the roads cleared a little.

I counted about 30 cars and semis in the ditch on the way back to Eau Claire. it looked like a war zone.

I'm pretty sure if I would have kept going I would have ended up in the ditch. This little chevy Aveo is terrible on the ice. Or when it's windy.

While I'm back in Eau Claire I'm selling this thing as fast as I can.

I think I will get another van. That little car is going to get me killed. Just not very safe.

It turns every trip I've taken with it a survival mission.

Terrible little car.

One man soon to have a van again and the road..........

I took a "mini" lesson from Gene, and I ran down to the 5 ball.

If I had only spent the $200 to get the full lesson, I could have gotten out.

Sounds funny but true.............

I took a "mini" lesson from Gene, and I ran down to the 5 ball.

If I had only spent the $200 to get the full lesson, I could have gotten out.

The mini lessons are done to show the players that the eyes are the real problem with aiming the shot.

Why a player cuts one way better than the other.

Why the shot looks good but we miss the shot.

Without the full lesson the player is still guessing or trying to figure it out on their own.

And good luck with that.

Nobody ever figured this out completely since the beginning of pool so their chances of doing that are pretty slim.

Even though it was a pretty comical statement there is some truth to what was said.

If i told someone that for $200 bucks I would teach them how to get out instead of just get to the 5 ball they would throw the money at me.

Now the other side of the story is convincing them that what I teach will get them there.

That's what the mini lessons are for.

So they know this is the answer.

I usually don't show them all the nutz for free. ;)

One of the most important things I've learned is to finish the aiming before I get down on a shot. The relative position of the cue and the dominant eye hardly matters in this stage. This is what is taught by the overwhelming majority of teachers.

Where the cue is placed (dominant eye / under chin) should only be matter at telling me when I'm wrong and need to change something. IMO thats when you should get up and re-align!

Do all perfect aim practitioners suddenly start re-aligning a lot more?

Not after they are down on the shot.

Question?

Geno, you have been in a lot of different cities in the last year or two. How about giving us an idea of how they rate competitively. Which area would you say has the most highly skilled pool players ect. I know any answer would be subjective, but you have been around as much as anybody. Just give us the top 5 or so.

They just don't know i guess..............

I can't speak for the majority of teachers. And if you are speaking for them and have talked to a majority of them and they think this is true they are all wrong and so are you.

Joey A knows enough about Perfect Aim that he could teach it and teach it well. That is why he commented because he understands how far out in left field your thoughts on the matter are. .

By only saying what he did, he is being very kind.

I've been teaching this full time for about 5 years now. I've had other teachers make fun of what I teach by directly telling everyone that the dominant eye doesn't matter.

I heard that years ago, when people got sick they would cut one of their veins to let the bad blood out.

I don't think that worked very well either? Sometimes new info can change the way we do things.

When something new and exciting comes along and is helping players play better than ever before almost immediately, people and players need to learn it.

If a player or teacher doesn't understand how this works they can't use it to their advantage or they can't even teach it. What I have discovered puts some big holes in the way we have been taught to play this game.

Someday everyone in the world will make this a huge part of the learning when they are teaching players how to play. Otherwise they just get stuck at a level and stay there seemingly forever.

But I can tell you this for sure. The relative position of the cue and the dominant eye position in the preshot is everything when teaching someone to shoot.

Many teachers out there teach some really good things and I commend them for their dedication to helping other players play. They are doing the best that they can.

I was in Ohio watching one of the top players and teachers working with a gal. She was trying to cut a ball that was fairly easy to the left. He kept telling her that she needed to feel the shot with her right hand on the stick. You just have to feel it.

Out of respect for him I said nothing. She left soon and I really felt bad that I couldn't show her the real reason she was struggling with the shot.

She was right eye dominant and was cutting to the left. All she needed to do was have the dominant eye in the most correct position in the preshot and raise her head up just a little. She would have started making that ball almost all the time instead of every other time.

When I see things like this I really feel bad. She was only one player but I felt I should of helped her somehow.

Why are all the players that I teach so satisfied with their results?

Because the results speak for themselves. And they can actually see with their own eyes what I teach works.

What I teach has come from allot of hard work and not from someone just telling me or showing me. There was no blue print to follow with figuring this out.

Doc Hutch, a pool player from New orleans showed me why what i teach works about 3 years after I was teaching it.

It has to do with the Retinal Field of Vision. He told me that not knowing this I kind of came through the back door.

This gave me hard core solid scientific proof why this works.

I had figured out something that nobody else ever did since the beginning of pool.

So it's no surprise that i ruffled a few feathers.

Players and teachers all over jumped up and called foul.

I was called a snake oil salesman, the Billy Mays of pool and other names too many to mention.

I knock off many of the nay sayers by showing them how well this worked. But there are still a few that just sit by the table and howl calling foul. Too bad for them.

But knowing I was right i held on strong and traveled and taught it to everyone I could with great results wherever I went.

If a person isn't taught this they have no clue as to what they don't know.

The blind man once said i can't see what I'm missing.

translated into pool : A pool player can't see why they are missing unless they are showed what i teach. And just keep missing the same shots the same way forever and ever.

Perfect Aim will stop the bleeding for sure.

Once learned, then you know and the game can be so much more fun..............

Have a great MPA tourny at 2 stooges sat......

I went to see the neurosurgeon this morning and he showed me where the disc's are bulging a little into the spinal cord.

He seems to think it might get better but i don't think so. Gave me some muscle relaxers and a neck traction unit.

When I have the traction thing on stretching my neck I can actually turn it.

Tomorrow is this tourny. I havn't played since Monday but if it feels a little better in the morning i will go play in this. It's about a 1 1/2 hour drive.

I 'll see in the morning.........hard to sit still..........
