One Pocket spots

This must be new age lingo, I never heard of it... but unless you're talking about lefty, I'm guessing 5 balls. :)
 
I ask because there is a local player, probably AAA, I'd like to play and even he just marauded me. Figured even with a handspan might be fun be he hesitated on that.

I don't understand the thread but I have a question from a newbie to one pocket and spots. I have been playing a couple of guys and we play " I make 5 balls to win, they make 8 balls to win. Is this called "I get the 8 and 5?"

I am not sure you could equate it to balls but it is huge. If you can play a little and know what to do with it you could make it very hard for the guy to beat you. Add an experienced player as your coach and forget about it.

The orange crush is not a one pocket spot.
It's for 9 ball (maybe 10 ball if you're crazy) and it's the 5 out and the break.

If they are spotting you 3 balls and they still only need 8, that isn't a very good spot. If they are going to spot you three, tell them to play 10-5 or 11-5.

Could you do into detail a little more on 10/5 11/5 spot vs what I getting now. By the way, I have been accused of "trolling" on here. I am not just a newbie. Thanks for the info!

No-ones ever given me a spot like that before,..........
He needs 8 before you get 3 and he needs to win by 5 ahead.
I think this is it, its quite a spot. A short-stop would give it to a C-
All the C- needs is 1 break and it should be over.
Someone correct me If I'm wrong,......
 
I would play anybody on planet earth getting the hand span...it's the strongest spot I've ever seen. Think about it...you can never be hooked, you can never be frozen to a ball or a rail, never be too straight in, never be on the wrong side of the ball if you can play a little...it's huge.

10-5 playing one hole. He needs 10 balls and you need 5 balls to win.
11-5 playing one hole. He needs 11 balls and you need 5 balls to win.

Ask them for a 12-4 spot and see if they are dumb enough.

I have heard this just once in my life which is why I'm not positive. Its more about the A+/shortstop than the lower player. Essentially he has to be a Locksmith and can't f&#*-up. I forget what they played ,but it wasn't the handspan. <---( going back 30 yrs here)

never heard of hand span in 1p

but if it means moving the ball a hand span when its your shot, i will play the world
