Getting in the market for a cue to be built, and have read many reviews and seen many examples of work and playability. But I ask, without divulging the entire collection one may have, if you had to keep only one, what maker's cue would it be.

Yes, only one answer please

Cue Info

I love my PFD Studios by Paul Drexler out of Connecticut. Total Custom Cue and I love the way it hits. This is and wil always be my playing cue!

I'd keep my Gina. Thread closed. lol:D

Feel is such an individual thing. I've hit a lot of cues in my day and the Ginacue is it for me. But obviously those that play with one aren't the only ones that are right. There are lot of great cues and cue makers out there.

I've been using the same Joss for 20+ years. I'm currently expanding my horizons and checking out some new cues, but I have yet to find a cue I like more. Ordered a LP Custom and trying to get on the Searing waiting list.

Jeff Olney hands down. Quality of work, Fit & Finish, Playablity, great custom service.
Get one while you can before he comes to his senses & raises his prices on his beautiful cues.

Save it guys..........
All around I have to go with Ariel Carmeli
Playability
Craftsmanship
Value
IMO Ariel Carmeli has become a Top Tier Cue maker.
Find any thread you like when Ariel's cues are discussed
and playability is on the top of everyone's list.
Ariel is a Master Craftsman and right now you get
far and away the most value in his cues.
With Carmeli you get a TON of cue for the money
and the best part is that cue plays lights out

Jeff Olney. The hit, finish, fit and PLAYABILITY are the best. IMHO

sugartree

It would have to be my Sugartree!! Hit, feel, feedback, and playabilty is the best for me that I have found. His shafts are some of the best I have seen. Oh and the bonus is his woods are crazy excellent.

Best Cue For Me ???

I have often talked about this with other players and I think that most will agree that it's all about personal preference. The HIT of most cues is so unique that unless you have been able to really narrow down all the materials and specs of a certain cue that allows you to play your best then it is really hard to even say. I searched for years for that special cue and then got really lucky with a new cue search back in 2005 when I found the Best Cue for me Thanks to the kindness of the Pool Gods above. Everyday since I have played my Best Pool with the Best cue for me.....

CARMELI.....
THE SEARCH IS OVER !!!!!

Yeah. I have to agree with everything samsarakid said. Ariel Carmeli cues have a very sweet hit. Stiff but still with great feel. Mine plays lights out, and im ordering another soon from www.superiorcues.com He has a good selection, and he provides very good service. Even gives a 24 hour trial period, I cant go wrong. Another vote for CARMELI

I sure like my Mike Wheeler. Originally a cue that I was going to flip, became my main player. I've owed at one time or another most every cuemaker out there.

You know it really boils down to personal preference. Although the Wheeler is constructed very well, it was the "specs" that attracted me to the cue. Perfect weight, shaft taper, balance, butt diameter....for me.

That is why I don't think I would ever buy a "custom" cue. I suppose that a cuemaker could come close to exactly what I wanted, but I know I can find exactly what I want if I hit with and choose between a bunch of cues. Who knows, the Wheeler might be replaced by a Meucci if it suits me.

2 cents.

I have a couple of cues the one that I won't part with is the Searing. It plays lights out. I have a Gina that plays almost identical to the Searing which suprised me as the joints are different, but the Searing was made of my wood to my specs so its my favorite. How ever unless you are willing to wait 5,7 or 10 yrs for a Searing,Barry,Hercek youd better consider some of the other builders out there. I believe you can have Ernie build you a cue in a years time give or take, and thier are many QUALITY builders out there. Good luck.

Scott Gracio

Just wanted to post that for the past year I have been working with Scott Gracio. Once I saw his "customer service policies", I wasn't to be steered away.

Hopefully we will be seeing some cue build pictures soon.

Scott is completely awesome, really easy to deal with and trustworthy. So much so that I paid for the cue, in full, up front. His reputation is what drove me to doing business this way, and I will say this, Scott is nothing short of great to deal with.
