Wayne,

My comments were directed at Peer for the way he addressed Wilson. I made no reference to the Jimbo situation at all. It is you that needs to work on your reading comprehension. And we can play some Banks and bet what you want big boy!

You tell me you want to play $100 a game 9-Ball Banks and I'll come find you today! Is that clear enough for you champ? And you got me by twenty years. I'm an old "has been" to. But I can and will kick your ass playing Banks.

Your friend Jay LOL

Jay I didn't know you were 75 years old (that means you have been playing pool for 50 years longer than me). I can't win in banks you are way too good for me. I would need a healthy spot. (Watch those comments on reading comprehension you may get banned for it.) The last time I saw you in a poolhall you kind of hid while I sat watching Tang play. You didn't need to look very far to find me then. LOL Of course you may have been in some big action match with the girl you were playing.

That was Tang's GF Sarah I was playing with. She's a doll and loves Pool too. I like the idea of matching up here in front of God and everybody. This way we have witnesses and no one can change their story later.

Look, we both know you play jam up One Pocket (Tang plays you even), but since you are so old (Are you really 55? You look good!), I will negotiate a game that you might like. If you give me 8-7 and the Breaks in One Pocket, I will give you 8-7 in Bank Pool. We play two games of each, for four games total. We bet $100 a game. At the end of the four games we can stop, or do it again.

What do you think? Pretty fair huh. We play your game, you spot me. We play my game, I spot you. I leave on the 4th for Lousiville. We can play before or after. Let me know.

thanks, Dave.

Thanks, Dave.
I've never understood why people thought they had a say in how things were handled around here. Read the rules, follow the rules. If someone doesn't, they're history. It's simple, and frankly that's how I want it here.
As was mentioned earlier, I appreciate that it's safe to walk down the streets at night.

There is a place for democracy. An internet forum is not that place.

I never understood people's argument that so-and-so wasn't given enough warning. Don't people understand that, as you have said, there were public and private messages sent?

I appreciate your ability to ignore trolls, and I resolve to learn that skill. I appreciate the manner you have used to gently nudge people when necessary. Some need more nudging, some less. I never understood why people want to win a point of discussion with you, publicly.

Well, my new business starts tomorrow.
I resolve to never again get sucked into reading drama.

Just my opinion,

Mike and I will talk more about areas that need the most work and what / when / Where and how things will be addressed.

I do appreciate the people who are really attempting to help with their suggestions and we'll keep them in mind during our talks.

Appears that you're in the minority on this thread. I believe Wilson has expressed himself quite well, and has given no indication of being overworked. I'd rather not remark about your final statement, other than I find it irritating.
Maybe he has given the indication.... ;)

There is one more thing that people don't see, the emails generated by complaints.

Seriously, I had about 40 ( yes, really forty ) reported post emails for this thread.

You know what really, really annoys me?

I have to open and read each one. Some are duplicates from the same posters, I guess trying to make sure we know....or maybe thinking if they report it a bunch of times the problem will be dealt with quicker.

Then there's the concerned people emails, who just want to make sure I know I have a running battle going on.

Then we can move on to the PM's.

When you have to sort through petty issues to figure out which are real and which are just annoyance......

I think if more people really cared, they would be more active in policing out of line posters themselves.

Really, how many people read the problem posts and said something to the effect of "knock it off" ??

Answer: Not one person.

I'll volunteer as referee or sweathog. Just let me know the time and place. Don't get there until Saturday. The world and JoeyA wants to know the who, what, where, when and how? Are there any personal photos that go with the screen names so I might recognize the two of you?

This Forum

Wilson

The forum has begun to get informative again. Have you noticed? Thanks for being firm with the "pot stirrers". There are the same types that get on the CB's with their high power Linears and are always stirring up things with anyboby that will listen. No moderators there.

Your doing a great job here and hope that you aren't discouraged by all the people that think this place would be boring without all the scandal.

Just figured I would chime in on this topic.

I think Dave is doing a good job for 1 person. Whether Dave wants to admit it or not, I think there is a need for more then just 1 moderator. Dave cannot be here all the time. If he was, things would get nipped in the bud much sooner. The Kristi Carter thread would have possibly been locked before anything would have gotten too out of hand. Things would have gotten resolved, edited and locked as soon as the hostitily started with Kristi and Kevin's posts. All threads relating to the subject (and there were a ton of them) would never have had a chance to be created because all the problems would have never existed. Jimbo would have never had he chance to say what he said. Kristi and Kevin should have been told to keep it in private and off the forum because as funny as it was watching Kristi call him out like that, it didnt belong here.

But that's just my professional opinion.

Well, if you look at the poll -- it's only 40% of the members who think Mr. Wilson is doing a good job.

With that said, I happen to think that Mr. Wilson is a great & good person (something I've told him privately a few times), however, when he gets into this "my way or the highway" mode, which in this case cost us a valuable contributor of this forum, I would like to see changes. Either get a new moderator who can separate his personal vendettas from his job, or better yet, get more moderators to help him. He's obviously overworked.

As I said earlier, his infantile ultimatum to Jimbo reminds me of being in kindergarden.

Curious...
The 40% poll thing.... how many votes did it include? As a poster mentioned..... it's small sample. Even smaller compared to other boards that have massive volume, traffic, members.

As far as being over worked.... well, that maybe true; i don't know him personally. But even so, I believe he did make a claim that they are working on it. Or, provide a suggesstion that might help. Like: Ask the moderators on O, YN and GFY and other massive boards on how to handle situations concerning abuse.

As for as policies are concerned... I've written many PP, AUP, T&C, Spam, and other polices, and found his to be very solid. For me if Mr. Wilson decides to just ban me for with no reason, or any reason for that matter with no notice, that's fine to. That's just the policy i agreed to.

Maybe there are other factors involved in the removal of a member which simply none of our business, the moderator's business or even the Administrator's business. But I don't think this applies simply b/c i believe he got banned for something else.

Let us say for example he did get banned for a personal reason. And if he was hired as a moderator, that's what moderator's do. The moderator will ban a member if the moderator feels that the prospective banned member does not adhere to policy or just simply not good for the community.

That is a nice offer Jay. Unfortunately, I have never played a game of Banks in my life and I don't even know the rules so unless I take up the game at some point I don't know how to match up. The games I have experience at are 9-ball and one-pocket. Other than that I have played straight pool about 20 times, 8-ball once in a tournament, several different games on snooker tables mostly liability and I have played on bar tables twice. So from my limited experience I have to stick with one-pocket for my action games. It was a good offer though. Good luck in Louisville, I wish I could go.

Sincerely, Wayne

Hi Vagabond: I am glad to hear your one-pocket game has improved and you can let me know when you will be in town and we can work out a game that you can donate to me LOL. You are still the finest dressed one-pocket player I have ever played. Cheers, Wayne

LOL. Yes I may have a slight edge. If you and Keith ever make it back out to L.A. and he is looking for a game I would love to play him some even 1-pocket. I only played against him once in a 3 player liability game and it was very entertaining.

Well, he's standing right here with me, as I read your post, and he said that if he ever makes it back to L.A., it would be his pleasure to play you some one-hole!

Yes Banks is quite complicated, so let me explain it to you. Every shot must be a bank shot. Okay? Well there you have it. Now maybe you'll tell me you never shot a bank before. PUHLEEZE!

I watched you play One Pocket and every bank you hit went right at the hole. I would say you have the basics down. How does the 8-7 and the Breaks in One Pocket sound? Until Keith gets here.

I return from Louisville on the 14th. Reserve your favorite table for us. Any one with six pockets is okay by me.

Wayne, did anyone ever tell you, you are a good hustler. I'm taking notes. Oh, about 9-Ball. My eyes are quite bad now (one eye is about 20-80) so I don't like to play 9-Ball. But I would have to play you some with the Seven. I break so bad, I might even give you the Break, and I know that's foolish.

I concur with your point of view. Below is mine.

Note: Not directed to any particular person.

I'm a lurker in general, but do contribute from time to time. I love this Forum, it's both Informative and Entertaining.

Please don't downplay the lurkers, they are the readers of this board. What happens if you only have writers and no readership? Which, BTW also applies vice versa. Both co-exist and are an asset to this board.

The board has very good activity (writers and viewers) and thats what counts the most.

Writing anything in these kind of threads is probably a duty, like voting, as a AZ Citizen. So not to hurt anyones feelings I can only state how I feel and not reflect on how someone else feels. I am fine with the way things are and the fact that this is the biggest and best online pool forum, should speak wonders. Great job everyone who participates.

IF the powers that be want to make changes, even asking our opinion is an honarble thing, because this is not democarcy. It just goes to show that they are at least willing to listen to their users. For a privately owned site, I appreciate that.

For what it is worth, this is JMO!
