I mean, the guy seems to be everywhere! Placing 1st or 2nd in everything, too. I am not a fan of his at all, but still tip my hat to this road warrior for having a strong 2016 thus far.

Oh, listen, I get it. And totally agree. My only comment was that he seems to be ubiquitous.
I think the magic rack debacle at the the WC 9ball is a perfect example of that.
But on the same note, this is his living and its a hard one. I really like watching him play when he is on.
How many of you would come out of the managers office giving co-workers high fives after been given word that you are going to have to take a pay cut. It's how he makes a living, I can understand most of it.

It is how the majority of his opponents make a living and making less of one as well... they dont act like that.
I agree. I watch plenty of pro pool and I see it all the time. Players reach their hands out and by the time they actually shake, the loser is already looking the other way and starting to walk that way too. That one incident does not make Dennis a bad guy.

Back to my original point, whether you think he's a jerk or not (i am in the former camp), no one can deny he's having a great year.
What kind of great year you are talking about ? Playing in some regional tourneys with few guys at his speed and finish mostly 2nd at best ? For his standard I see nothing great here. Put the name SVB instead of Orcullo for these achievements and tell me if it's "great".

He goes where he can play and stays in action more than most. The people here in So. Calif who have known him and played and socialized with him at Jay's seem to like him just fine. The handshake thing is common in his part of the world. In other worldly settings he would just be called tempermental.
It's true that Dennis has a bad loser handshake, he turns his face even before his hand contact opponents hand, but lets be honest, most of the pool players are sore losers aswell specially at high level, I'm not syaing 100% of the players, because Ive seen some good sportsmanship from players after losing, but its rare.
One comes to mind is Mika Immonen, he's the worst sore loser aswell, he got this baby attitude where he's about to cry and angry at the same time after he's lost, he literally don't even want to shake hands, but nobody said a thing about him, Mike Dechaine is in the same boat too, and alot other players too.
But in reality this stims from their deep wanting to win, which is understandable, some old players even say that this is exactly why they became very good at the game, they hate losing, and they like to win, even if you play with them a race to 1, they still want to win, which is why they became the players that they are today.
So in the end, it evens out if you think deeply about the whole subject.

I can't believe there are people still knocking Dennis over his handshake after losing to Shane for like the fifth time in a row. They aren't the best of friends in the first place. Get over it people! Dennis just happens to be one of the most well respected pool players on planet Earth - by his peers! They respect his playing ability and his sportsmanship. Dennis never makes a peep, sitting in his chair quietly waiting his turn at the table. He would never attempt to shark a player in any way either. It's just not in his make up.

Dennis is number 6 on the AZB money list. The top five are all well placed in the recent China Billiard World Championship, except Pagulayan (MoT at DCC). DO (he didn't play in China) must be doing something right if you measure success in monetary terms.
