Orcullo vs. Frost- Live Reports

Did being the fittest in mental and health win this game

Of course it did Scott was unfit and showed he was mentally off some complaining from the beginning about some chalk on the rails

maybe if it were a smoking room Scott could have come a few games closer !

What shots was Dennis weak on?
On the 2nd day Dennis was already in Scott's head. Dennis seldom missed and never rushed.
Overall I agree with your assessment.
That is a sound observation (in blue)
And I made a small bet on that big pool shooting Frost, too. :banghead:
I made a comment in another thread: Scott Frost studied his audience and his fans....while Dennis was studying Scott Frost.

Scott was outplayed by someone with better shot making skills and superior mental ability.

I have never seen any pro refusing straight on shot for the game (object ball was 2-3 ft from pocket and cue ball was 3-4 ft away from object ball) instead scott took slightly difficult shot with built in safety. (Perhaps he was feeling weak) Obviously he missed and but was lucky to win the game no 19. People may argue on the choice but i will gain confidence if my opponent does that.

This is it summed up nicely

Dennis was superior mentally by a mile!!

Dennis, quite a few times, was leaving Scott cross banks when he should've been under-
hitting the shot to the short rail instead of trying to get the ball closer to his pocket.

It wasn't till the fourth day that Dennis caught on.
Scott just missed too many open shots that were gimmes for nine ball players.
Scott should practise on a snooker table for a while....accuracy is still the foundation....
....even at one hole.

I don't think DO minded leaving some cross banks to Frost, because after day 3 it was apparent Frost's make percentage on them was not high.

Last year Frost and Pagulayan played 8 ahead and it ended up being Alex's 55 to Scott's 47, for a total of 102 games being played.

This time it was a race to forty and Orcullo beat Frost 11 ahead in 69 games. I don't think it was close at all.

And the first 8-ahead point this time came after 48 games.

Scott's Take on Dennis' Play

I posted this in a different thread as well. Scott's post on FB.

I can tell you this.... IN MY 25 YEARS OF PLAYING IVE NEVER SEEN A MAN BANK THE SHOTS HE BANKED AND RAN THE BALLS HE RAN FROM CERTAIN SPOTS. It definitely effected my game on top of that their were sooo many games I lost down to 1 ball and those swing the other way the score may have been different but, "that being said I don't think ALEX or ANYONE can beat that man playing ANY rotation game for big money". He is not human

Yessir but you can't compare ahead set to a race set.....it's totally different mentality......who's know if they play ahead set....we might still be watching it now

Dennis didn't play with the intensity in the final day that he had in the prior days. Shot quicker and with less tension. Obviously he felt that he could turn it on again if needed. At this point Scott caught a little gear and won some games but then faltered on a critical easy shot .
Dennis at this point slowed down again and closed it out.

I noticed that also it was like a different person shooting

IDK what Scott said on social media the previous day's, but that was very nicely stated after the match.
I missed most of his evil deeds many had mentioned here. Let's face it, he was trying to get an edge in different ways and they didn't have an affect on Dennis.

Great compliment by Scott in the end.

What impresswes me as much as dennis' execution or his knowledge is his commitment to a given shot. When he pulls the trigger, he is fully committed.
Yeah, I'm sure that what Dennis does when down on the shot is to visualize the shot going in. He won't pull the trigger unless he is sure it's going in. A good technique to adopt for any player. I personally can't stay down on a shot as long as Dennis though.

I agree that there is a fine line between shooting the shot too quickly and staying down on the shot for too long.

Thank you to Scott, Dennis, Lenny and all the behind the scene providers..

IMNSHO This match is going to be studied by any true up and coming 1p player from here on, and they all owe a debt of gratitude to all the behind the scenes providers and to both the players for getting up in front of a live stream, especially to Lenny who along with Scott and AZB have provided insight to the high levels of one pocket for this match
As well as the last few years. All of the knowledge, the moves, mistakes, strengths, and weaknesses are there to learn from.

THANK YOU!

Dennis gives EVERYONE big spots already, has for years. You should see what he has to give to the "bar box" pros to get them to gamble, it's a joke. I won't name names because people on here get so easily offended

Yeah, you aint lyin.
When your hometown hero gets the last 3 and 5 games on the wire and hos committee bets 20k+...they find out how good the best is
