Why is it that you take offense at bringing up Buckingham Guards? They are known to have an expressionless face, and I used that analogy when describing pool players who compete with this tableside demeanor.

I have not attacked anyone. Rather, it is you that keeps it going.

And for the record, since you have brought it up, I believe your avatar is demeaning to women. I have received PMs from posters on this forum who agree with me that it is degrading to look at, as well as a GOOD REP from one poster who agreed with me. Those surgically enhanced breasts on that poor woman are deformed-looking. No women matures with breasts that look like those, perfectly round like hockey pucks. Another avatar you had displayed an image of a woman on all fours on a pool table with a man behind her shooting with a cue stick aimed at her rear area. If you want to know what is disgusting, that is humiliating for women to have to look at.

I'm not a racist, Craig. I am a Riley-ist today. If I want to pull for every other player in a tournament to succeed besides you, that is my prerogative. It has nothing to do with racism or nationality.

Thats up to you, I'm merly pointing out that u won't stop trolling me, and asking you to stop or atleast stop complaining when I reply in kind to your troll comments.

As for the avatar (ive covered the cartoon one before but like the Eurotour,BCA,WPA u keep ignoring it as u believe what u want to believe it seems) many people publically stated they LOVE it, and I also got rep for it (geez how sad is this rep stuff!). I don't like many things on this forum, calling people disgusting or various pics of naked men but you know what its 2007 and I see far far worse walking down the street. Turn on MTV, go to the beach, you sure as hell better stay off the internet if u get upset so easy!

As others as stated if you don't like an avatar you have 3 choices:

1) Block that user!
2)Turn off avatars!
3)Learn to live with others and ignore it!

I think all three are valid options as opposed to trying to force everyone to live by JAMs rules! I note that there are countless members with more revealing pics than mine but u don't troll them, coincidence?

PS
Sorry to dissapoint you on the pool, there's nothing like a few biggots to spur u on! :D

Give me a break. I feel as if you're tail-gating me on the AzBilliards Highway. There's enough room on this forum for the both of us to post and have an enjoyable experience.

This is not MTV and is not the beach. This is AzBilliards Discussion Forum, and as a member, just like you, I have a right to state my opinion.

Au contraire, I like avatars a lot. I think your recent avatar, as well as some previous ones, as a general rule are demeaning to women. Are you a woman-hater? Do you abuse women? Your avatars reveal that you must have very little respect for women or you wouldn't display them in such a degrading manner.

I don't troll anybody. I used to like to participate on this forum much more so than I do today. I may only be continuing my AzBilliards experience because I have a boyfriend who is a pool player. Otherwise, I would probably not invest as much time in reading and posting. Every time I read one of your responding posts to mine, it reminds me of having a fly in my ear. I can't swat it, and it is a constant nuisance.

I do not know what a "biggot" is. Is that a European spelling for "bigot," or is that another Riley-ism?

Just for the record, "The One", JAM is one of the top three most respected posters on this board. She has NEVER attacked anyone here. For some reason, known only to internet trolls like yourself, she has been attacked for her honest, yet fair, assessments of the billiards world in general. It may be her connection to one of pools top money players in history and the jealousy of want to be players with an inability to even draw their cue ball, such as yourself. You have every right to post your opinion here like all of us but to suggest that JAM attacked you instead of the other way around is totally laughable. Do yourself a favor and do what you suggest JAM do, just drop it.

WPA is the world governing body. BCA is for America, EPBF is for Europe. Don't know who rules for Asia. (Actually it isn't that hard to understand, if you try to)

EPBF is doing a very good job for Europe. Could of course been much better, but compared to BCA we Europeans are obviously in heaven. (How sad is that...?)

Asian Pocket Billiard Union (APBU) for Asia.
All African Pool Association (AAPA) for Africa. I think this region is currently the highest priority of WPA.

I'm always amazed at how these threads diverge from the original topic.

The forum rules do state the following: "By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws."

It's time for the moderators to either enforce the rules or change them to permit obscene, vulgar and sexually-oriented avatars.

I can't believe that this is my contribution to Ollie's thread. ;)

Well, tell me this.

How many times you had a conversation that doesn't lead to another topic?

I have no problem with switching topic as long as it's connected one way or the other to the previous topic.

Actually, though, it would seem that the European organizations have set up a pool structure that maybe they would like Americans to adhere to, though, as so many of already stated, the American pool tournaments is where many of the European players desire to hang their cues.JAM

Hi Jam,

Markus here.... And why is that so ? Pretty simply. We Europeans might have a better structure and being better organized etc, but the prize money in the US is better. That is the only reason why the Europeans play in the US. When I say bigger it still is ridiculous to see the top 128 players of the world competing for lousy 10 grand 1st prize money... but there is no true alternative. The IPT could have been one but could have and should have are the relatives to shit...

There are many tournaments around in Europe where the Americans are welcome... Why don't they enter... MONEY thats all. There have been two really big tournaments in Munich in the early 90's, The Brunswick Munich Masters where a remarkable US delegation showed up. Why because the prize money was right.. What happened there ... the side betting offered such good quotes, that some froreign players lost their matches on purpose... That was really sad to see and no good for the sport at all.

I really respect you as one of the best posters here at AZ but complaining about unequal opportunities for the US players in Europe simply isn't true. Only the European Championships are a closed contest. Fact is, that most of the professional pool players would sell their own grandmother for $3 because they do need the money... It is a simple as that. As long as we do not have a real professional tour where professional players can make a living just from performing good at their sport, the situation won't change. The US lost its dominance in pool quite a while ago. All the other nations are catching up and overtaking player wise. Why because in some countries there is an organization that cares, that advises etc . In the US a player still must rely on luck and a supporting enviroment rather than beeing able to enjoy organized development?in his sport.

Just my 2 cents

Markus

I don't think Euro players care too much about hall of fame. It's a nice honour and all, but I think that being inducted to HOF would mean a lot more to an American player. Right or wrong?

Probably, cause the European players are still capable of winning tournaments, not only awards :D (Sorry, couldn't resist...)

Anyway, I guess it's true that the HOF is more important to American players, though I think that if there is any European player inducted it will mean a lot for him/her.

First European player in the HOF? Allison Fisher, I guess.

Beeing the first European induted to H.O.F. sure would mean a lot to the person whoever it will be.

A very reasonable pick and very deserving as well. What can anybody say bad about Allison Fisher? Such a class act and loads of talent.

Like I've said before, the posts are there for all to see so I don't care how u want to twist it! I have nothing to worry about but I will respond when somebody keeps trolling me!

Hate women? LOL Like I said VERY interesting my avatar gets singled out, I've lost count of how many avatars Ive seen of girls (and guys in bikinis). If JAM doesn't like my avatar (assume she likes all the other "demeaning" ones since she doesn't complain about them) she can block it anytime she wants too. JAM is still complaining about a CARTOON silhouette  I had over a year ago, she either has a bad hangup over this or just targets me, I know which one it is!

Draw a cueball? Never been much of an artist, you got me!

Last word. :D

you two are cute................

one of you thinks one way
the other thinks differently....get over it ....."he started"..... "naw uh, you did"...come on really guys...

I dunno ...alls I am trying to say is..this is old... at least let somebody else have this argument :D... you guys should just cut and paste our old run ins and save everybody some time....

Is that something that I as an American should be happy about, Markus? If what you say is true about the prize money, I would like to see the Europeans and their heralded organizations invest a little bit more of their resources in pool on American soil then, if this seems to be the place where players like to hang their cue sticks. Why should the American pool industry and other American pool-related entities foot the bill for the income of pool players from around the world, opening our doors to all nationalities, when there is no reciprocity?

And then to have nationality-restricted tournaments, such as they have in Germany as an example, listed on a champion's portfolio being given the same weight as, say, the U.S. Open, it ain't right. There is an imbalance, if you will, of importance placed on tournaments, and they are not all equal.

Are you saying that in Munich, the only players that side-betted and lost their matches on purpose were foreigners to Munich?

I respect you, too, Markus, especially the way you have supported pool, to include young up-and-coming American players.

However, this is one area where you and I may not come to a mutual understanding. I think the U.S. players most definitely do not have equal opportunities available to them as their foreign counterparts. In fact, what little monies pool players in America do get to play for, we have to cut it up with players from around the world. Why don't other countries step up to the plate with their heralded organizations and make something happen like we do here in the United States?

The U.S. may have lost its dominance in some eyes, but not this reader's eyes. Maybe if we had nationality-restricted tournaments available, we could build up our stock of fresh meat. Instead, our players have to share. We open our doors, to include our pool tournaments, to players from every country in the world, bar none. I cannot say the same about other countries.

As far as the BCA Hall of Fame goes, there is another example of the American way. However, after reading this thread, I'd like to see a European Hall of Fame. Would they include American players in it? Probably not. They seem to look down at their nose at American players today, thinking we have no fire power. If it wasn't for American players of yesteryear like Willie Mosconi, Irving Crane, and Luther Lassiter, pool just might be dead in the water worldwide today. We built it. They all came to our shores to pursue fame and fortune in pool, and now this is the thanks that America gets, other countries thumbing their noses at American players as if we're house fish.

Let the alphabet soup of European organizations do something for pool worldwide. The American pool pie is now down to crumbs. Maybe it's time for some other countries to exert a little effort to help this sport that you and I so dearly love, Markus, but IN AN INTERNATIONAL WAY and not just within their own region of the world. :)

JMHO, FWIW!

Now you're talking, Small Fry. Instead of sitting on the sidelines eating popcorn, put that lean-and-mean body of yours to work and post up some real factual data. :)

Fact of the matter is, the above-referenced names all made their fame and fortune right here in the good old U.S. of A. If they hadn't come here, they would have been just another pretty face now, wouldn't they?!
