Oscar Dominguez/Billy Thorpe Mosconi thoughts

So, the Doggin It guys have speculated that the last wildcard for the Mosconi is between Oscar and Billy. Does Billy's win at the Bull do enough to put him over Oscar?
I think not, at the same time it seems to me Billy has a little more firepower whereas Oscar is a steady-Eddie kind of player. Curious to hear the opinions of other on this.

If they are about even in ratings and rankings then, I assume it would come down to who's is the best teammate or who does the best in the Mosconi environment.
I don't know all the players well enough to answer that.

They can't risk seeing this outfit again. Put him in a proper uniform.

IF BT can stay straight he can be a tough out in a short race, however, OD's performance level is more predictable

need to see more of BT before i'm a buyer

Agree pragmatically but the MC is a circus show and Billy is one of our only remaining top playing circus freaks.

If I had the pick, I'd go with Oscar. The form he showed at the US Open, in which a) he crushed FSR and b) only a miracle shot by Vitaliy Patsura at double hill denied him a spot in the Top 16, was very impressive.

I put more stock in the majors and put a lot of emphasis on the fact that Oscar beat a Team Europe regular at the US Open.

To be fair, though, either pick would make sense.

I wish Bergman or Dechaine were playing regularly as they are both better players than either of the 2 when they are in top form.

Also, whatever happened to Jesse Engel- he was a very good up and coming player but I haven't heard about him in years.

Billy Thorpe should be the wildcard pick.

The Mosconi Cup is about entertainment and Oscar Dominguez just isn't an exciting player to watch, unless you count this comment

Tough choice considering how important team dynamics and camaraderie are. Putting points on the board is what wins events though nothing else really matters.

I’d pick Oscar he’s less emotional and might be a bit more focused when it really counts..

Now that Billy is sober I really like where his game is going and where his head is at. I say give him a chance since he gets along so well with the other Americans.

Don't fight the math. USA is already 100 Fargo behind. OD is the correct choice.
