Outing Hustlers

Why are there are so many threads crucifying hustlers for cheating and deceitful behavior yet so many other threads vilifying those who wish to out possible hustlers?

Does putting your name and face on the internet hurt your action even if you are not hustling?

My opinion is their “action” is only hurt if they are attempting to hide their real speed. Does this make sense?

I understand that those with their face and name online are going to be larger targets for the real grifters out there. I would like to look past that for now.
Assuming your opponent is of like character and there are no hustlers, if you are open with your opponent about your speed and willing to negotiate a handicap if needed, does publicly posting your picture kill your action?

I may be missing something so I welcome other viewpoints?

I have my own opinions on hustling and in no way are they meant to be reflected in this post.

Best,

Rick

because on this forum as well as every other forum, whatever your opinion is, half of the members will agree & half will disagree.
And a small portion of both halves just like to critacize as many posts as they can.

I agree with about half of what you said and disagree with about half of what you said. Additionally I think the thread makes no sense and could have been worded better.:poke:

No, not half. I bet it's more like 50-50.

Slim, you misspelled criticize :D

Sorry couldn't resist!

This is very interesting. I'm going to get half a glass of water and keep watching.

Rick, not hiding your speed and putting your name and picture on the internet will not hurt your action but it could hurt your wallet. You will run out of cash before you run out of opponents.

Thread

Perhaps I could have worded it differently for some.

I'm really just curious if having your name and face online will hurt your action if you're not hustling. It's ok if you think this thread makes no sense. I ask for my own reasons.

I'm not trying to criticize any thread in particular. I've just noticed a trend and was interested in what others thought. Thanks for the replies. I appreciate everyone's opinion.

Respectfully,

Rick

I would correct you by saying it is actually 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other.

I would correct you by saying its more of a coin flip...

Trying to answer the question: I would say generally if your name/pic is on the internet, you might be labeled as "a somebody" and a nobody might not want to play a somebody.......

It's actually more like 40-60%.

No matter what, no matter how righteous your position on any given subject may be, no matter how logically and well reasoned you state it, it is a well established fact that there will be 30% who will disagree with you. Then you have to factor in the 10% for the nut huggers of the 30% :-)

What are you thinking ?!?! Half agree, half don't, and the other half criticizes!

Best,
