I was talking to a lady who said she was Pam Treadway's
aunt.
She seems to think Pam is the next big thing.

How good is she and what is her potential in your opinion?

Thanks.

She plays great and her potential is endless. One of the most fundamentally sound strokes that I have watched with a cue, male or female.

I think her name is now Pam Cimarelli after marriage. She just finished 5-8 in the US Open and I know for a fact she does not play that much.

At 18-20 she was killing regional womens tours and doing well with the men in the regionals as well.

You can check out her stats on www.pooltour.com for when she was playing on the tiger tour.

In the last WPBA tournament she came in 5th-8th I believe. That was her first WPBA tournament in awhile. But yes she can play very well. I hear she plays well for the cheese too. Good luck to her. Johnnyt

The first time I met Pam was in Toledo at the Glass City Open. She was the only lady in the pro even, and she was a mere 16 years of age. She played well and I think made the money rounds that year. I believe that was the Glass City Open in 2003, if memory serves me right.

A few months later, we ran into Pam at the DCC in Louisville, and she asked me to take her picture with Keith, to which I was definitely okay with. I love me some pictures! Keith and I both remembered hanging out with her in Toledo a few months earlier. She was cute as a button. At DCC, Pam said to me right before I snapped her picture, "I want you guys to remember me. I'm going to rise the charts someday soon," and she was dead serious.

Here's the picture of Pam and Keith McCready in January 2004 at the DCC in Louisville.

And Pam was right. The next year, 2005, was Pam's year to rise and shine. I saw her at the Super Billiards Expo in Valley Forge, and we were speaking about the ladies tournament. She was doing well and wanted Keith and me to watch her compete.

I couldn't help but remember how she blossomed into a beautiful young lady. Pam and I went outside to smoke a cigarette between her matches. Her auburn brown hair was glistening in the sun, and her brown eyes were shining brightly when she spoke about playing pool.

Well, she won the ladies tournament at the SBE, and the lady in this picture who came in second place is another upcoming champion, Anna K. (can't remember how to spell her last name).

Here's Dawn Hopkins, Pam, Anna, and Allen Hopkins posing for the trophey shots at the 2005 SBE. Check out Shawn Wilkie and Josh Brothers in the background grinning from ear to ear at Pam's great win.

Actually, Jennie, the runner up is Zinnie Panju from PA. She plays in the regional tours and is a consistent high finisher.

The sky's the limit regarding Pamela's potential. But, as was stated previously, she just doesn't play very much anymore. Coming in 5-8 in that last pro event is evidence of her abilities given her lack of time devoted to the game.

After leaving Michigan to pursue a closer relationship with her former boyfriend/finance Josh Brothers, Pamela called my poolroom her home room for many years. I saw the way she practiced, played in tournaments, action, the whole nine. Every time she competed, she was in dead focus and you had to play perfect to beat her. She rarely relinquished leads, and was rarely out of a match when she was down. By the way, most of the matches I'm talking about were against men.

At the risk of offending some of the ladies, Pamela plays like a man! There is nothing cutesie or feminine about her stroke or her entire approach to the game. I would say, kind of like Jasmine O. They are made of the same mold. Because of experience and exposure to more competition worldwide, I would have to give the nod to Jasmine at this time, but only because of the afore mentioned experience. It's a coin toss who wins for the cash though.

I could be totally wrong about this but... didn't she recently have a child???

That could inhibit some of her pro aspirations. That side, she is LIGHTS OUT!!! An unbelievable player!!!

I stand corrected, Eric. I had to look it up, but here's the finish, according to an InsidePOOL article:

Ladies' Results: 1st Pamela Treadway 2nd My-Hanh Lac 3rd Tina Meraglio

I also came across this old picture page in my Google search for Pam Treadway's name in 2005 SBE. Love, love, love the music. LOL! http://hometown.aol.com/railbirdjam/2005SBE.html

Pam Cimarelli (formerly Treadway) has a big, big game! She has a large, powerful, and deliberate stroke that reminds me a lot of Jean Balukas'.

We at Tiger supported, and still do partly, Pam's playing on the WPBA for some time. Now, she has chosen a family life and is married with gorgeous child. Although she is not playing high profile events very often, you can tell she's still got it!

Her aunt said she recently had a child but has come back to playing and is more confident than ever.

Don't know how close the two are, however.
Some of her info wasn't quite right.

In my first WPBA event, I was fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to draw Allison Fisher my first round and then Pam my 2nd round. I think she was ranked #33 at the time and I could swear it should have been a much higher ranking than that! She is a very talented player and definitely plays like a man! I loved her stroke and her determination at the table. I hope she gets back to the WPBA because she can really do some damage.

Yeah..Pam can play..

Here in Richmond Va. Our local cue maker sponsered her for a bit. Todd Elkins of Parrot cues spoke very highly of Pam. I am sorry to hear about her marriage with Josh Brothers...a jam up player in his own right. I thougth they opened up a pool hall together and were living happily ever after...sighhh...never like hearing a relationship fall apart...

Pam is a gear above the regional champions for sure. In her first WPBA event 3 years ago she won her fisrt two matches on the winners side before losing a tough one to Jeanette. Her first time on TV on her first rack, she broke and ran, yeah she can play.
